    If you're housing a regal jumper, then you'd be better off using a substrate geared more towards TROPICAL animals instead of a desert substrate since they're a tropical species. I know you said you don't do this because of mold though but there IS a solution to that problem. Seed with springtails. Springtails are a natural mold control option because they will actually EAT the mold as it grows. Also, I do recommend a larger enclosure as the spider reaches full size. Mine is in an 8"x8"x8" Exo-Terra tank and that seems to be a bare minimum for a full grown regal. Having this type of larger setup is good for both the spider AND YOU! Obviously the spider gets more space to run and jump and do its spidery things while YOU get more space to decorate and play as you set up the enclosure.

    • @Oozaru85
      @Oozaru85 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do you still need to clean/exchange the substrate if using springtails? If so, how often do you clean it?

      Because of the way the enclosure stands the spiders make their home on the top of the glass and not the lid.

    I like those jars. I use mason jars, and cut from a roll of window screen a 2-3 pieces (so the fruit flies don’t escape) cut to fit the lid. They’re ok but the rounded sides don’t make for taking great pics or video. I really like the flat side of the sweet jar!
