Hey guys,I'm trying to figure out what would be a good website or place to get my hands on a jumping spider,I'm quite new to the hobby, and my go to website never have then in stock on tarantula canada, and so does fearnottarantula😬
Tarantula collective is literally my number one TH-cam channel right now. I’ve been watching your videos every time I pull up TH-cam and I haven’t been disappointed at all. Great channel man, thank you!
Jumping spiders, adorable as always... Though I have yet to find any in stock (sad face). As for Tarantula Cribs - bought my first enclosure to try about a month ago.... And as of today I know own 11. Can most certainly say they are not only aesthetically pleasing but high in convenience.
My husband saved our little jumping spider two days ago from two girls at work wanting to kill it, I’ve seen what I suspect is a male eat now :) we have a new home for him too, mines a bold jumper and he’s very interesting to watch, named him Kidōmaru
@@TrooperBDonner Great story! My new policy is that every jumper that wanders into my house automatically becomes a pet. I’ve wanted a T for years, but the husband refuses. I’ve somehow convinced him that jumpers are okay to keep, so I’m hoping he’ll slowly warm-up to larger arachnids.
@@alohafromthe3033 it’s a female for sure 😁 she’s very happy and well fed ^^ I’m glad you take them in, I found a baby the other day, so tiny but I left him be since it was outside
Depending where you live you can just take one from the wild, they are in abundance in grasses and light poles and ladders and sidewalk crevices, you can always just go trap one, look at one of Snake Discovery’s videos on them.
These are so expensive, but apparently totally worth it. I need to rehouse my lady Audax and give her more room to run about--she's SUPER active. I'll be sure to use your code--I hope it's the same a year later! I'm sure you don't get much, but it's the least I can do. You help me give my spiddermen and scorpybabies better lives, and that's all that matters.
I'm always clicking the videos to see the spiders and then I'm getting completely distracted by the quality of the video, the photos, the music and so on....love love love, amazing job🤯
I caught my jumping spider at work/bottle drop, my favorite thing is watching it stalk the prey before attack, love your clips keep up the hard work, you have given me all the courage/confidence to know I can handle having T's as pets thank, you Richard for everything :)
I love these cute little guys! I'm ready to get my first set! They are a little more expensive than I realized...but for now I caught 2 wild ones in my house of all places! But these guys are definitely my favorite species. ADORABLE!!
I love these adorable spiders I wish they would live longer.❤️😍👍🏻They are so friendly and fun to watch stalk their prey just like a cat. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻❤️
Super late to this video but I just got one of the medium treehouse switch enclosures + the flat top canopy for my adult female p. regius. It'll be my very first bioactive setup and I'm already impressed at the quality of the enclosure itself. The Zilla enclosure she's been in is fine but the TC enclosures definitely feel like a level up.
My favorite kind of video, enclosure building! I don't have any arachnids, I'm still a bit fearful, but I would spend all day, every day making enclosures! Maybe I can get a job just making tarantula enclosures for peoples??? LOL
That camera looks like something out of a scifi flick! I just ordered one of the Tarantula Cribs 6 x 6 x 8 with a removable flat top canopy lid, which adds 3"! Looks perfect. The removable lid would be nice to feed them in too. Used your discount code, so thank you, and glad to help out your channel.
Those Jumping spiders are so adorable the girls seem to pose for there photos and the males are like don't care just want to eat. Great video on there rehouse and closeups. GOD BLESS 🕷💖🕷💖🕷💖
So much beauty, energy, and personality in such cute little packages! I've watched and gently handled jumpers outside forever, now I'm thinking I'd like to keep one someday ❤ 🕷 Thanks for all the information!
I love your videos! Do you suggest the small size for a smaller one? Going to order all my stuff before the jumper don’t want to get the medium and end up with a smaller spider. Thanks for your content I just started with 3 pink toes
Richard you’ve probably answered this question before but where do you get your skulls? Ty. I recently just found your channel and I’m so glad I did. I’ve learned so much from your videos however, apparently I didn’t do enough research as I totally bought the wrong species for my first. I bought a pumpkin patch but after watching a video of an escape they are way quicker than I want to deal with at 74 years old. Lol. I’ll be rehoming him and getting a Mexican Red Knee.
Do you still give out a promotional code to do a order from tarantula crib enclosures. I want to do a order but shipping to Canada is crazy. Anything would help.
this may be a silly question but how do the doors work? i saw some enclosures online have too large of a gap with the door hinges for a jumping spider so i'm curious as to how this door works and if there is a risk of them escaping through any of the holes or slits?
that clarus male looked awesome not seen colours like that before, been exploring all the different species to see which ones i like the best, hoping to start keeping jumping spiders but doing my research first. if you have any videos on the heating or know of any good ones peeps let me know. so far only found text tips
So today I found a cute lil guy I named him tomato because he was in the tomatoes 🍅 😋 he is a red and black jumping spider P. Cardinalis I think anyway super cute guy
I have setup a 12x8x8 inch terrarium but someone said that would be too big for my spider. But the spider I've got I don't think he will get any bigger so can he still go in it
Quick question, on The website it says smaller spiders could easily escape through the vent holes for this enclosure model, does this include jumping spiders?
sounds like you may have been keeping it way too damp. Try saturating it less with water. You can also add springtails to the enclosure as they like to eat mold.
I know this comment is late and probably won't get a response but, what enclosure is recommended for an i5/i6 jumper? I am interested in getting one (and have been for awhile) but whenever I try and research what size enclosure I get it never gives me a proper answer.
I have a Regal jumping spider in an enclosure for her! But I think she is outgrowing it! She is an i7 now and I don't want her to get out of room in her enclosure. Is there a way to help me out? I live in a foster home for adults here in Bay City Michigan USA! And I only get a single $40 once a month from my guardian. I can't afford it on my own all the time.

@@tarantulacollective thank you I forgot to put in the dang code but I ordered it last night after looking around I have a jumping spider I ordered the medium treehouse wanted to give her enough room as she gets bigger to move around you know
Hi just found your channel great stuff buddy I'm just getting into jumping spiders 🕷 and want to do a bit of macro photography on them can I ask what defuser that is on your flash 📸
Welcome aboard! I am using an AK diffuser. I came across them on Instagram and ordered one. They custom make them to fit our specific camera/lens/flash combo and I think it was around $100 or $125 with shipping.
Hey so serious question because I’ve been reading different things. Is a regular LED reading light good enough for a jumping spider? If not can you give me some recommendations
I don't think anyone has said conclusively if artificial light vs natural light makes a huge difference. They would prefer a light versus no light. And you don't want something that emanates much heat.
I’m thinking on getting a jumping spider… my wife has T’s .. but I’m not a T person..tho I love watching them. Doing research first . Do you have husbandry vids on them?
Depends on the species. Commonly 1-3 years, with the often kept ones P. regius and audax on the upper end with a bit above 2 years. If they are worth it, depends on your own judgement. I think so.
No, you'll only end up with one very fat jumper. As far as I am aware, there are no jumping spiders who continiously live communal. There are some reports of male/female pairs who live together for a time, but also many when this went deathly wrong. Also you might want to watch the top 5 bad ideas videos on this very channel. tldr: Don't gift animals.
@@psychonautguide5630 Good to hear, if she wants to commit to keeping one anyway, that's a different story. Wish you both best of luck with keeping her first jumper!
@@Gargboss i think she's seeing it as a sort of stepping stone to get comfortable with the prospect of feeding/watering my T's if im working 🤷♂️ either way I've wanted one for a while and they'll (i assume) be much easier than my T's 😂
