  • After looking at Super Nintendo console bundles last week, today we're diving into what you'll find in your standard Nintendo 64 boxed console. In addition, we're comparing how the North American set looks next to the Japanese one. I think you'll be surprised by what's different!
This unboxing also helps us segue into another topic related to Nintendo's controllers and where they were made. My hope is that through my videos you can learn lots about both retro collecting and retro gaming in general. Thank you for watching!

Good to see you, Andrew. This certainly brings me back to the 90s.

Ahh the RF adapter. What an absolute pain to get it looking right. Any interference or long term use would just result in static. Couldn't even bunch up the cable because of that.

Right? I remember as a kid I was so excited when I finally got a TV in my bedroom, except it was from the 70s with a woodgrain exterior and rounded screen which meant part of the image usually got cut off while gaming. And of course, it didn't have an AV connection meaning I had to use RF. Those were the days! XD

Andrew do you remember when everyone was freaking out that the New Nintendo 3DS XL didn't come with a charger. Imagine if they did the same thing here in North America with the AV Cables.

I'm not him but I surely remember that. Can't blame Nintendo for doing it since a lot of people (like me) essentially just collected them and/or already had a plug around from at least one previous model.

Yep! That was one of the first things that came to my mind. The New 3DS is an interesting situation because most people probably bought it as an upgrade, meaning they would already have their charger from the original 3DS. I like when devices come bundled with everything they require, but I can understand there being situations where they don't come with all of the cords as well.

Awesome video! Do you use the Japanese power source in the US or do you use a US power source on the Japanese console?

Hello Greg! Thank you for watching! I've been doing more playing than collecting recently, although I hope that someday I have more awesome pick ups to share with you all. I appreciate the interest! :)

I was a little surprised when I saw the price. I don't remember paying that much for it. Perhaps it was half price day, which was always awesome! I'll never forget when I got boxed Game & Watches for $0.50, down from $1 on half price day. XD
      Thank you for watching!
