      Cheers mate! Good to know! So far the luggage setup has been my favourite to date (with the smaller tankbag, the big one is overkill for this bike).

    Nice vid AMC, thanks! I bought some SW-Motech Blaze panniers when I had a Ducati...toured with them and loved 'em. I bought them after your review and they lived up to expectations. When I swapped to an S1000RR I bought the fittings so I can still use the panniers. Highly recommended!

      Cheers James! Yeah the blaze bags were really solid. If they’d had the bars for the Honda, I’d have probably stayed with them. But kind of glad that they didn’t because these boxes are great! Glad you’re still loving yours mate.

    You’re becoming the Inspector Gadget of Honda touring there Andy. I love the idea of that light weight luggage. When touring on my GS with all three vario panniers & generally my wife, I’ve certainly got a load on board (just in case my wife reads this, no I don’t mean you). The panniers alone weigh about 13 odd kegs! Before filling so your new kit seems a marvellous idea.
    Enjoy your work matey, & love seeing footage of Germany.
    Cheers👍🏍🇦🇺

    • @AndyManCam
      @AndyManCam  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Russell. I think these weigh 1.4kg per side, so QUITE a saving! I can only recommend them mate. I’ve been really enjoying using them so far. The Blaze bags were good, but these with the clip on/off and lockable abilities are a step up for sure.

      Haha! Sorry! I don’t see the point in compromising the other way either. Don’t want the plastic, the screen, the size or the weight! I just want a bike that i love to ride and enjoy looking at!

  • @sparkatron9334
    @sparkatron9334 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Hi Andy. I really do like the CB1000R, Honda did a great job blending an ultra modern bike with some subtle classic lines. It looks a fantatstic bike to be out on and i can imagine the buzz it gives 'you' the rider, so its great that these videos show how its possible to throw a few bits of kit at the Honda (and therefore any bike) and make it a perfectly suitable tourer. And when your 'tour' is over its a quick change and back to the nimble roadster. The enjoyment of tour videos includes 'Who', 'Where' and 'What bike'. There are already enough vloggers touring on "Gee ess's" that they run the risk of diluting our interest.

    • @AndyManCam
      @AndyManCam  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks mate! I’ve always thought that it’s more about the bike you want to have when you get to the twisties. Rather than the compromise you make on way. I’d rather have a bit of windblast and need to stop more often on the way, and then have that nimble roadster when i get there! Touring so far on this bike has been a pleasure and i see no need to be trading it ‚up‘ to a BMW battleship any time soon!! 😎👍🏻

    Good vid. I picked a Suzuki Katana for touring with Ventura sport rack and bag on the back. Using Kriega US 20 and US 10 with last choice to get a tank bag. Good review 👍 great to see options like this.

    I like most of the sw motech stuff you have Andy, easy and hassle free additions to the bike. Having been a massive Givi fan myself I have to say your tank bag is one hassle for sure, with mine it's one slide of a lock and its off. I'm definitely trying out their cushion seat, that's a needs must for sure. Awesome vids as ever though and can't wait to see you're next instalment venturing around. ride safe mate.

    • @AndyManCam
      @AndyManCam  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers Chris. I half agree on the tankbag thing. I was really sad when I found out that they didn't do a tankring for my bike. But it wasn't enough to not get the bike though! I'm not overly enamoured with the strap tankbag, but I'm actually very pleasantly surprised with the magnetic one. The size is surprisingly useable and the magnets (it uses LOTS of small magnets, rather than a few big ones, so it adheres to the curves of the tank very well) have shown no signs of budging at any point. The cushion is a real godsend on the longer journeys! And cheaper than an Airhawk too!

    • @BordersBasher
      @BordersBasher 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      AndyManCam i love the magnetic idea one, as you say for day to day I bet it’s perfect. I have the biggest givi tank bag and for anything over a night away and it’s perfect. I’m now thinking if the magnetic tank bag would fit behind my fuel cap while I’m sitting on my bike, time to go spending haha. Thanks for more ideas and needed accessories bud haha 😂

    Andy, I really like the saddlebags and the minimal rack system. I think it would look great on my Suzuki v-strom 650. However I already have a magnetic tank bag that I hate and don't trust. The tour tankbag is huge and would look silly, can you suggest a stap on version in a smallish size?

    • @AndyManCam
      @AndyManCam  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Racks are great. Really happy with them. I have been very pleasantly surprised with this magnet tank bag. It has loads of small magnets, rather than a few big ones. Seems to fit to the tank really well and holds solid. Agreed that the large bag is a bit too big for anything less than a round the world trip! Not sure what the in between Option would be. Maybe check out the Legend gear range?

  • @soulrebelno1

    I can definitely vouch for fitting handguards. I fitted a pair of cheap generic Chinese specials to my naked bike, along with some Oxford Hotgrips, and they were an absolute godsend during in the winter. In my opinion, the best accessories you can fit to any bike when the temperature drops!

    • @AndyManCam
      @AndyManCam  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I totally agree. These guards were an absolute godsend over the winter months!

    • @soulrebelno1
      @soulrebelno1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AndyManCam You need some heated grips as well. The Oxford grips are very good, they have nine levels, and they get really hot - too hot sometimes - perfect for Teutonic winter! There are also the Daytona heated grips, which have a built-in switch, and are a neater solution, but I don't know how good they are. I'd never be without heated grips and handguards these days!

    • @AndyManCam
      @AndyManCam  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Totally agree! If you check out the wider bars for CB1000R video, I actually fitted the Daytona heated grips. I had some problems and they were replaced by the distributor, but I'm still not 100% convinced about their longevity. I've got the Oxford grips on the shelf for when the Daytonas give up the ghost!

    • @soulrebelno1
      @soulrebelno1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AndyManCam I've had my Oxford heated grips for a while now, and they've been great. They've been excellent over the winter in conjunction with the handguards, very toasty! I did originally wire them directly to the battery, but then I bought a INNOVV Power Hub2 distribution module, and was extremely happy when I noticed that the grips suddenly started to remember their previous state! I now don't have to remember to turn them on the next time I get on the bike, because they remember the last setting. There's some sort of electrickery going on, I think it's because of the ten second start up and shut down delay - back of the net!

    • @AndyManCam
      @AndyManCam  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a win!! Where did you put the control box? I think the grips are definitely the best, but i don’t want to clutter my clean handlebars!

    I have the same side bag racks but I've chosen soft bags. The zip is a very questionable solution on the side case. Not only it can be open in a second using a pen, but also if you drop the bike most probably the zip will be damaged and it may not close anymore. Soft bags for the same system are better i think, but they don't have an inside lock to prevent usage of the quick release mechanism.

    • @AndyManCam
      @AndyManCam  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Horses for courses i suppose. I like the lockable feature and needing a pen to get into my bags is one extra tool than is needed to get into the soft bags! 😜. TBH if i drop the bike, the zip on the panniers would be the last of my worries!

      Each to their own i suppose. I much prefer the idea of having things already inside of a waterproof bag. I hate having to stop and put on the rain cover!
