She is not an actress. She is an orphan from teenage living with her grandmother. Most of the skills are the daily life in village. Some of them were learned later on like making this bread oven. She worked in city for a few years but had to move to village when her grandma was ill and getting old. She then started filming. She now has a camera man because it is too difficult to film by herself.

I love your videos, thank you so much for sharing, I live in a very rural area in New Hampshire USA, and most people here live very similar to the way that you do, cooking food that we grow and raise ourselves. The few videos I saw about an interview that you did explaining hos you started your videos because you wanted people from the city to know where their food came from, it really related to me because I wanted my children to grow up on a farm for the same reason, because I remember growing up having friends with had no idea where their food came from, thinking meat just came from a grocery store 😁 I know some people have no way of knowing unless they are shown or taught which is the main reason why I love your channel. Actually, no clay comes from the ground. If you dig under dirt enough, you'll see orang stuff which is used to make clay. You should try it, it's a really simple process.

Yes when I was growing up in Malaysia in the 60s and 70s, people used to make almost everything themselves especially in the rural areas. The village where my father grew up didn’t even have tap water, fridges , tv. There was one phone in the village shop, so whoever needed to contact anybody in the village will call that shop. They used well water and to save electricity and plus no tv, everyone was in bed by 8pm, also they had to get up before dawn to do rubber tapping n farming. They up cycled and made everything, even built their houses. Villages helped each other to built houses. I think there was no need for bins as they hardly had anything to throw away. Nowadays, life in that village is very different though.
On other clips, she built her bath room sink, built her swing, made her own make-up, tried to make paper from tree bark, made her own dye for clothes from grape's skin. She is amazingly efficient and creative.

At this point, I've only had to hire someone once to help me and that was because it was too heavy (construction, etc). Being a small woman, I am a master at the art of leverage. You'd be surprised how much a small person can do if they learn leverage. Now with the internet, there is just no excuse for not doing something ourselves, there is always someone somewhere that has done it and posted about it. Often I watch videos even though I already know how to do something and learn a little something from someone who does it different. Not better, just different. I am growing concerned about the young people....if something were to happen in this world where we lost modern conveniences, most would starve. I used to have interns working here at my farm and finally I just had to stop. They were beyond useless, not trainable - but the main problem is that many young people have completely lost the ability to reason something out. If I wasn't standing over them directing every movement, it always turned out badly. So unfortunately I learned that in the time it took me to try and teach them something, then they had to re-do it five times, I could do it myself. Learn things from your grandmother....she won't always be here and someday you might be sorry you hadn't learned those things. If for nothing else than learning something from her, and then doing it yourself.......every time you do that thing you will feel closer to her.
The saddest part is we are all forgetting that this is our ancestors culture where there was no technology in those days. Now we need every thing readymade....wanna eat noodles just buy a pouch of noodles pour hot water and get set go. This sort of situations are making our generation and our further generations a sort of lazy. She is not an actress. She is an orphan from teenage living with her grandmother. Most of the skills are the daily life in village. Some of them were learned later on like making this bread oven. She worked in city for a few years but had to move to village when her grandma was ill and getting old. She then started filming. I love your videos, thank you so much for sharing, I live in a very rural area in New Hampshire USA, and most people here live very similar to the way that you do, cooking food that we grow and raise ourselves. The few videos I saw about an interview that you did explaining hos you started your videos because you wanted people from the city to know where their food came from, it really related to me because I wanted my children to grow up on a farm for the same reason, because I remember growing up having friends with had no idea where their food came from, thinking meat just came from a grocery store 😁 I know some people have no way of knowing unless they are shown or taught which is the main reason why I love your channel. Actually, no clay comes from the ground. If you dig under dirt enough, you'll see orang stuff which is used to make clay. You should try it, it's a really simple process.

This lifestyle is very familiar to anyone who grew up in a farm, I remember people building ovens and homes with clay and local materials in Morocco and my mom making every single thing from scratch. This lifestyle is very difficult and exhausting, a lot of respect to you Li Ziqi.

Yes when I was growing up in Malaysia in the 60s and 70s, people used to make almost everything themselves especially in the rural areas. The village where my father grew up didn’t even have tap water, fridges , tv. There was one phone in the village shop, so whoever needed to contact anybody in the village will call that shop. They used well water and to save electricity and plus no tv, everyone was in bed by 8pm, also they had to get up before dawn to do rubber tapping n farming. They up cycled and made everything, even built their houses. Villages helped each other to built houses. I think there was no need for bins as they hardly had anything to throw away. Nowadays, life in that village is very different though.

In the real world, those of us who live like she does.....well, we get cold, sometimes our hands hurt so much in the cold weather we could scream. Sometimes the winds come up and start tearing your tree shelter canopies up and you are out there in the cold wind, trying to save them. Or its 115 degrees outside and you still have to do chores. She reminds me of my own nieces, always learning and making something. I guess they have twitchy hands, they always must be doing something- me, too, for that matter. I run videos in the background while I work on something. In the country, and with old people, one can learn a lot, but social media has opened the doors to a lot of skills that were just learned in immediate family circles before.
I don't know why people kvetch about Millennials- I find them innovative and very generous in showing people how to accomplish skills they've learned. I'm learning leatherwork now, due to people posting their knowledge.
My nieces love this videographer. They have a farm with their mother. This woman really opened a door to what they can do with it. The only problem is obtaining bamboo for law furniture.

Rei Hawley 1. Townsend is pretty cool 2. I don’t think it’s because of her race or gender that is just lazy thinking 3. Perhaps it’s due to T.V. It might have influence that thought , since in reality T.V when people do survival shows it’s scripted and such.

I would love to see how you can fake that. Besides, if you think this is a propaganda, what does the government want you to believe in by making vids like these? Well, not all of us. I am a 70 year old single woman farmer in the High Desert of California. I built my own house and all outbuildings by myself and farm my land to grow my food. I am still learning how to do something new everyday. This week, making a Tandoori oven. There is no good time like now to start doing the same thing.

@@jhjzhou For many of us in this senior age group, many of us learned to do everything that we could, ourselves. At this point, I've only had to hire someone once to help me and that was because it was too heavy (construction, etc). Being a small woman, I am a master at the art of leverage. You'd be surprised how much a small person can do if they learn leverage. Now with the internet, there is just no excuse for not doing something ourselves, there is always someone somewhere that has done it and posted about it.
Often I watch videos even though I already know how to do something and learn a little something from someone who does it different. Not better, just different. I am growing concerned about the young people....if something were to happen in this world where we lost modern conveniences, most would starve. I used to have interns working here at my farm and finally I just had to stop. They were beyond useless, not trainable - but the main problem is that many young people have completely lost the ability to reason something out. If I wasn't standing over them directing every movement, it always turned out badly. So unfortunately I learned that in the time it took me to try and teach them something, then they had to re-do it five times, I could do it myself.
Learn things from your grandmother....she won't always be here and someday you might be sorry you hadn't learned those things. If for nothing else than learning something from her, and then doing it yourself.......every time you do that thing you will feel closer to her.

The saddest part is we are all forgetting that this is our ancestors culture where there was no technology in those days. Now we need every thing readymade....wanna eat noodles just buy a pouch of noodles pour hot water and get set go. This sort of situations are making our generation and our further generations a sort of lazy. Our Ancestors are healthy since they ate healthy and worked hard thru good physical exercises like this woman who is working hard to let the world explore Chinese traditions. Since our lives had become mechanized we are very much thrilled and fascinated towards the traditional ways like a baby getting amazed at looking after something for the first time.
What I am trying to say is still we have our traditions at our hand let's wake them up and at least once a week let's put all our gadgets aside and work or live peacefully in our traditional way.
By the way Accidentally came across this woman's videos and I'm impressed for her dedication towards her work. Subscribed immediately.
