Mosin's are about $500-$600 right now. One shop recently had a bunch of Mausers from Brazil, Chile, Argentina and Turkey. They were good examples and in good shape. But TEH COVIDs wiped them out!
I recently lucked out and got a hold of a Lee Enfield No.4 Mk1* made in 1943 by Long Branch for a mere $200 off the consignment rack at my local gun shop. I had no idea an action on a bolt action could be this smooth or lightning fast, and you don't even need to move your head or lose your sight picture. It's my first truly antique firearm, and getting my toes wet, the waters of antiquity sure look inviting! While .303 British is not difficult to find in my area, and is actually plentiful in this ammo shortage, it sure is expensive because the stores are only stocking hunting rounds for elk season, and this ammo is running for about $2/round. :( Better learn how to reload these spent cases, lol.
