Pink Floyd, really opened up the eyes of many through their music 🎶 🎵 and their animated videos. Pink Floyd was way ahead of it's time. They seen the way things were going and showed people a small glimpse into what is going to happen, if some of it hasn't happened already. Pink Floyd, is therapy for the heart and mind and body and soul. There will never be a group that's this authentically real, and true to their music and lyrics. Pink Floyd, is always pushing themselves to create new and mind blowing 🎵 🎶. They are a group that will never, ever be replicated or duplicated. They are definitely in a class all by themselves.

Need I discuss more. This is only a portion of The Wall. Before the movie was made I was enjoying this music of the double album The Wall with a different viewpoint. I had already a living room home stereo system record player (finest diamond needle) just ready to try out the 1979 The Wall ... And ... One can imagine what that listening experience was before seeing the movie The Wall at movie theaters in 1982.

Not produced or connected to Hollywood in any way, shape, or form. And the film itself isn't connected to the US.
      Directed by Alan Parker
Produced by Goldcrest Films is an independent British distribution, production, post production, and finance company. Operating from London and New York, Goldcrest is a privately owned integrated filmed entertainment company.
The movie first appeared in England. It was highly controversial for a number of obvious reasons.
Later, it was distributed by a subsidiary of MGM International.

      No, those were hired actors/extras.
There's clearly references to Zazi and facisism. The Hammer symbol was first introduced during production.
Although the symbol of the crossed hammers used in the film was not related to any real group at the time of production, it was adopted after by white supremacist group the Hammerskins in 1988 in the US.
The Hammerskins (also known as Hammerskin Nation) are a white supremacist group formed in 1988 in Dallas, Texas.
Their primary focus is the production and promotion of white power rock music and many white power bands have been affiliated with the group.
They did form chapters in the US, Canada, much of Europe as well as Brazil.
Their affiliated with The Rise Above Movement.
FY:I the Wall was released Internationally in 1982.

In this part of the movie, Pink has built the Wall so strongly around himself that he's lost sight of who he really is and become the very monster that his father died fighting. I think it's a commentary on how extremist movements prey on emotionally vulnerable people.
When the song was written, a neo-nazi/neofascist movement was gaining traction in England and it disgusted Roger Waters (who wrote the song) because his own father died in WWII fighting the Nazis. Remember, after the war England suffered a massive recession and a whole generation of young people had lost their fathers and older brothers. It was a slap in the face to Waters to see people his age embracing the violent movement that had brought so much suffering to their home country.

You're completely missing the point, it's about how detached the fans are from the real meaning of the music, how they're just there for a rowdy rock n roll time and completely miss the message that the performer is trying to get across, and no his point isn't anti war, the soldiers at the beginning (In The Flesh pt 1) are what the fans at a concert are being compared to, them busting through the doors of the venue and running down the hallways are compared to the troops storming a beach in WW2.
And him coming across as you-know-who isn't about you-know-who it's about how the fans have a fervor for rock stars comparable to the fervor that the citizens of a certain country in Europe had for you-know-who circa 1933 to 1945 (there was actually a time years ago when rock stars wielded that kind of power over the fans, those days are long gone however).
The message isn't about you-know-who and the power he had over people, it's about the blind hysteria fans used to have for rock stars back in those days and how the fans don't listen to the message of the performer, during the tour for Wish You Were Here Rodger Waters had an experience at a concert that really ticked him off, there was a fan in the front row completely blasted out of his mind and when Waters realized that the guy wasn't really paying attention to the performance he got really jacked off about it and wrote The Wall afterwards.
Personally I think he should have just been grateful that Pink Floyd had droves of fans that turned them into multi millionaire's, but then again if he wasn't a pompous ass that thought everyone should look at his music the way he wanted them to then he'd have never conceived this masterpiece, personally if it was me I'd just have been content with being a multi millionaire rock star that had all the sex drugs and rock n roll that you could possibly hope for.
      But that's just me.

this album and especially film isn't just pretty lights and sounds, it's about very real political and sociological issues about many topics that relate to Pink's feelings and insecurities, they didn't show you a group of skinheads that look a lot like the nazis, beat a black man and rape his gf in there car because it looked cool, to view this in a vacuum devoid of all political context that it was made under is more disrespectful to the art than what you are suggesting but hey who cares as long as it looks pretty and you can dance to it, am I right?, It's not like this song is partially about just how dangerous that can be and that this comment section is proof those fears were valid

Jesus Christ people like you are why we have so many problems. Great job conflating the Trump presidency with a fictional pop star’s megalomania induced hallucination of being a fascist demagogue, in a movie about a concept album about isolation. Fucking moron. I’m not even a right winger. But calling everyone who is a Fascist… is what radicalizes people in the first place.

@@calebdavis1323 yeah I absolutley agree. Say what you will about trump but when people go "wah wah its about trump right?" when the wall is so much more meaningful than that and came from such inner turmoil from Roger Waters, it just makes me so angry.
