The Wall is a work of musical genius, in composition and performance. It was for a while in my teens my favourite work. Then I didn't listen to it at all for probably 25 years. When I did listen to the record again, in its entirety, in one sitting, I expected it to not have the impact that it did when I was a young adult. Boy was I wrong. It was the opposite.
I found it to be an intense and emotional experience, as the songs had greater resonance for me now, with much life experience.
For a work of art to grow and evolve with a person as the they grow and evolve, and with a growth and evolution of meaning, is rare and very special.
