Just found this video. I have only made four journals, and they all are basically a memory to my wife's passing. I love this checklist, I use to teach for 20 years and a checklist is very important in making journals. Again thank you

I'm in the process of setting up my first dedicated craft room. I have tons of odds and ends craft items, papers, jewelry, laces, papers, etc. I never knew what to do with them. And then, one day, not too very long ago, I discovered your channel and Junk Journal making. I thought, Wow, that incorporates all my favorite pieces of "junk" I've been collecting for years. Now I know what to do with it all! Can't wait to get started! Thanks for your inspiration and breaking down the instructions so easily!

Thais has helped me soooooo much!!! I'm in the process of making my first Junk Journal. By choosing a paper collection for each signature, I did not realize that I was selecting a theme for the signature. That was a happy discovery. Now that I have your check list, I can now sit down and make embellishments to go into my journal. Next will be a little more strategic and start with a theme for the journal and not just the signatures.

As a person who has to have lists for just about everything, thank you so much! This is very helpful. I haven’t made my first journal yet, but hoping to start soon. I am starting out with a premade journal that was going to be a gift for my niece, but the heat transfer vinyl I was using on the cover messed it up. So, I bought a replacement for her, and kept the messed up one for myself. Excited to start working on it. All of your videos have really helped give me ideas.

I have only made one journal so far but inside my first page I put a tag with a quote I read that seems to fit creative people; "Art is the only way to run away without leaving home." Another quote I used was from a first-time author who wrote of herself, "I did it, I finely finished my first book." I cut her words from an old paperback copy and put them on the last page of my journal. I can see how we can each make our journals personal to ourselves.

Love this, thank you! I had an idea for the acetate pages... I might either clip in a "slick writer" marker, (or any permanent marker really), or add a few tabs of different washi tapes so that the recipient can tape things to the acetate. Just tear off random washies and stick them to the acetate... It will decorate it and prove useful at the same time 😉.
Also- I think I saw this in one of your journals, vintage sewing patterns for paper types. They can be pretty thin so I sometimes glue them to a heavier paper or even do the one-sided laminating trick just to make sure they don't tear.
(for those that haven't seen it, there are tons of videos on how to do one-sided laminating, It's a game changer!)

So far I have tried 2 junk journals and the truth is they look studied and planned, but not artistically...stilted is more the word. Natasha. Your journals are works of beauty and art ..I hope to get better, but with my perfectionist and logical non-artistic brain, I wonder if I will ever achieve any level of skill approaching yours...I have a computerized sewing machine, so I'm reluctant to use it for paper, but when I find the foot pedal to my 40 yo machine...that I will use...but so far I feel that I just don't have an artistic bone in my body.. you are a true artist and creator...you should be very proud of your achievements...I love watching your videos...thank you for giving me this beauty and this medium to explore...

I know I have told you in a multitude of comments before how amazing you are and how much you inspire me to be a better crafter but I am just gonna keep saying it because it is SO true! So I am sorry if I repeat myself but I have to so that not only you know how appreciated you are but others who are new to your channel and might read my comment can know what they can gain by sticking around and watching your videos!
Anyways I have learned so much but one of the main things that have helped me tremendously is your organization. From the moment I first started watching your videos it was different than any other crafter's channel because you have clear simple steps written out for us all to follow along with you! I mean wow! That helped me feel less all over the place when crafting because I knew the order in which the craft was being made. Of course we can add our own spin to whatever the item is but to have that guide to follow helps! Especially if new to all this! Secondly you obviously create from your heart! I highly recommend folks to watch your "Get to know me- 10 Crafty questions" video if they are new here. It was that video that showed me that your love and appreciation for "treasure books" and creating them started many years ago before TH-cam! Thank you for sharing your amazing gifts, talents, and your heart with all of us.

How did you know this is what I needed!? I’m just beginning in this journey of Paper Treasures! I chase myself in circles from one project or embellishment I need to create for my journals to another great idea I see on TH-cam videos! Like a squirrel, “ over there that’s a great idea…. Over there do that one !” I will be using your checklist! I’m also needing to creat a single storage place for these flat items I’m creating. I saw a video somewhere on using file folders with cereal paper pockets for different items I collect from redeemed “junk”. I can’t seem to find the video again. I think you create the folders and sew them as signatures into another file folder as a cover. I’m a retired Art and Home Economics teacher and have lots of files I haven’t thrown away! I had files for everything! Now I know why I didn’t throw them away. I want to tell you how much I enjoy your videos, I save them and watch them over and over! You do a great job and I look forward to finding them! Keep up the good work! Susan

Thank you so much Natasha for creating this video!! It is so helpful as a reminder to all the things that can be done. Sometimes you need that visual reminder to inspire you to add things into a journal... and you get a bit forgetful of all the varieties of opportunities. I so appreciate your checklist! 😃😛❤️

What a GREAT educational opportunity for me as a new junk journal maker. I learned so much. Thank you Natasha! The list is super helpful too.

    Hi, Natasha!
I am following your clases for two days now. I have already downloaded your gifts. Thanks for everything.... especially for teaching us without requiring 'expensive elements, tools, and so on.'

Thank you so much Gladilyn!! I am so glad you find my channel helpful! I try to create as much as I can with recycled materials, second-hand finds, things people usually throw away etc. I am all about recycling, reusing and keeping things out of landfill. I'm like that in all areas of my life, and being that way most of my life has actually helped me find my passion for making journals!
