“My father would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark.” Lmao one of the best comedic monologues of all time.
In the summer we would make meat helmets.
the sort of general malaise that only the genius possess in their insane lament
Accuse chestnuts of being lazy
A penchant for buggery
Lmao this whole comment /part is one of my favorite parts of the movie. Summers in Rangoon
Man, it’s like Seth was 25 for 25 years then just became 50 overnight
I can’t for the life of me figure out why any of my gen x contemporaries decide to grow grey beards that make them look 20 years older than they would look without them
@@kevinpoehlmann5157 ie you can't grow a beard
@@jowjo3799your neck beard does not count
Omg was thinking the same thing. I feel so old now seeing him!
@kevinpoehlmann5157 Maybe the skin around the jaw and neck is losing elasticity and/or they've gained weight, and the facial hair hides whatever flaws they see in that area. I remember Steven Weber said that's why he grew a beard.
Green saying how he wanted Scottie to take everything seriously was such a great decision. Easily enhanced the contrast of real and absurdity
Agreed. I wished they had made Austin Snr (Michael Caine) a counterpart to Scott instead of just a copycat of Austin. He could have been a serious spy embarrassed by his son (Harry Palmer type maybe?). They could have even had a moment of acknowledgement between Scott & Austin snr about their father/ son relationships.
Bryan Cranston said on Hot Ones that in film/tv, it is necessary for the character (and therefore actor) to not think what they're doing is funny or ridiculous, because if they're laughing at themself it means the audience doesn't have to, but if they're serious then we get the full impact of the absurdity [/paraphrase]. Green played that to a tee
Always love when people play good straight characters is absurd situations. Leslie Nelson was always so go at that.
Watch A Muppet Christmas Carol....Michael Caine plays the whole movie straight.
Its insanely great.
@@JJ-nu8qiDavid spade was the perfect straight man for the legendary Chris Farley
Neal, Let the man finish a story!
Amen, and thank you for putting it much nicer than me
That Hollywood cocaine energy
I came to say exactly this
Seriously, it was barely past a minute and I did my usual thing of becoming so furious that I yell "dude, shut the [eff-word-curse-swear] up and let them speak!" It's why I hate podcast interviews so much, the hosts can almost NEVER remain quiet. They're always being noisy with "mm" or "yeah!" and steamrolling the guest with trying to jump at jokes or presume what's being said.
@@illiteroi hear you. The only counter I would have is the format of the podcast. Some aren't for interviews they are specifically comedy podcasts. Bad friends for example I would hate trying to see Bobby Lee trying to interview someone but their podcast isn't about being interviewed it's about having fun and it's kinda on the guest to know that going in what podcast they are doing and how they should be prepared for said podcast. All that said I do think Neil is trying to interview and just sucks at it so your point stands.
I bet they spell the board B-O-R-E-D
Thanks Norm❤❤❤
box office poison
RIP to one of the greatest
It reminds me of that tragedy
Hey I'm in the movie too, what about my career??
I’ve *never* heard my dad laugh louder than the first time he watched “Austin Powers”.
He gets the cart stuck in the hallway - the entire neighborhood heard him.
That was such a classic scene. Still giggle just vaguely remembering it.
Funny seeing Goldmember in the theater with my dad was the hardest we’ve ever seen my dad laugh as well.
The interplay between Scott and Dr. Evil is one of the funniest parts of those movies.
Totally! I stumbled upon the Springer clip recently. It took me back!
Mini me VS Scott
When they added mini. Over the too hilarious
Would make a amazing Netflix Series Scott Evil, like he becomes Dr Scott Evil after his dad passes away and he takes over the business
I was obsessed with Austin Powers as a teenager. How am I just now learning that Carrie Fisher was the therapist???
How did you miss that?
HUH? How do you not know that?
Seriously! I'm 32, must have watched the first two movies 50 times (my cousins had the vhs), and I'm just finding this out
I just realized that.
@@jackp692I am also 32 and it NEVER occurred to me 😂
I literally just found out from this comment.
Seth Green now looks like Ron Howard....now.
Seeing Seth now freaks me out as it reminds me how fast time flies. Damn
He still looks 30
@@justjaseyeahhe does not look 30 lmfao. Maybe about 40, which is good considering he is 50
I thought it was Mark Hammond for a second😊
Green looks like he's about to confuse you explaining what the Matrix is with a bunch of small TV screens in the background.
I just aged 25 years seeing Seth Green like this. I know jes 21 years older than me. I know this, but until now he's been like maybe 5 years older than me in my head
I just watched without a paddle and came back to this and the reality check was very ROUGH
Thirty odd years later and I’m still doing regular Dr. Evil impressions! I guess you could say I’ve been doing Dr. Evil impressions for thirty FRIKKIN’ YEARS!!!
Thirty FRIKKIN’ YEARS indeed. That’s crazy. Idk why I still get shocked at stuff like this as I am now pushing 50 but I do.
Throw him a frickin' bone here!
30 is a bit much but I hear ya.
It got weird, didn’t it? Totes weird?
Jesus, the dark timeline where Green picks Chairman of the Board over Austin Powers, holy shit 😂
It’s spelled B O R E D - thanks Norm
In that timeline Carrot Top is offered the Scotty role and ruins Austin Powers
After watching him for 40 years, Seth Green looks like an adult finally.
Seth slowly morphing into Mick Foley 🙏
That's a good thing! For Seth. Lol
I'm so glad Scott Evil was played by Seth. He really made the role his own. Great films!
Agree but gotta admit the third one Goldmember wasn’t that good .. the first 2 are great though
@@brianmeen2158 No, I thought that the Third One was about the best, because it was larger story, crazier plot, and greater cinematography. For me, I thought it was the best.
I to love Gollllllld....member
@@brianmeen2158cmon man
Literally clicked on this to make sure it was actually Seth Green. Dude is 50 years old now?!
Doesn't look a day over 60.
No he is 20 years old forever! 😂
When i look at Seth Green now, i realise how old i truly am.
Austin Powers and The Italian Job were GOAT childhood movies
When I was ill with covid for a week I watched all the Mike Myers classics. Perfect remedy
We would never have Norm MacDonald's famous Conan clip if Seth took Chairman Of the Board.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's spelt BORED! 🤪
Favorite quote from that movie.
Scott:
“I don’t know, maybe I’ll open my own petting zoo.”
Dr. Evil:
“An evil petting zoo?” 😂
Seth's beard has real Brendan Gleeson vibes
"Ah Chairman of the Board...do something with that ya freak!"
Norm: 😏
B-o-r-e-d
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Please tell seth I owe him so many days and nights of laughter. I hope he knows that shit mattered.
His aging voice is sounding more and more like chris griffin
I remember the first Austin Powers movie not having that commercial success and no one I knew liked it. I remember watching that movie every damn day at the time. That was one of my favorite movies. I loved that it eventually caught on as a franchise.
It did fine at the box office for a low budget film, but wasn't a "hit". But on home video it was massive.
Seth Green can now cosplay as the Architect from The Matrix: Reloaded. Without make-up. Amazing
Seth has been one of my fav low key favs ever
That's 1 too many favs than you needed.
Tell sloan i said what's up......? Seths best line
I like "oh I must've been dreaming about how I blasted her in face like a Jackson Pollock".
Huge Entourage fan here, and his character still makes me hate him.
@bradhendrix701 thats how good n actor he was cuz yes. Hate that guy on entourage lololol
I love Seth! He’s one of my all time favorite people in the industry
Awesome, i haven't seen him in years. Glad to see.
"Neal Brennal: Neal Brennan Interrupts Seth Green Neal Brennan Attempting to Talk About Mike Myers Austin Neal Brennan Powers"
Fixed your title for you
The problem with most podcasts, let the guest speak
Lose your virginity
“I had the group liquidated, ya little shit!”
They were insolent
"SCAWTTY DAOWNT!!"
Seth and Neal both have so much insight, it's so refreshing to listen to them talk about their art. Thank you!
I agree with Neal, I saw Six Degrees of Separation right when it was released, and busted out laughing at the line, "For My New Body!".
Seth Green is so absurdly talented. I always loved him in Buffy, and Scott Evil was easily the best character in that entire franchise
I remember Googling Seth Green when the Scooby Doo movie came out because I recognized his voice from Robot Chicken as a kid 😂
I haven't heard anything about seth in a long time. Glad he's still alive lol
Scott, shhhhhhhh!!!!😂😂😂
Zip it
Love everything about Seth, especially SCOTT EVIL!!
Playing Bobby in American Buffalo at the Old Globe is absolutely nothing to sneeze at. Respect.
Seth Green can be my Normandy SR-2 pilot any time, no questions asked.
Funny(ish) how all “pain” is the same because as humans we all need a certain base of attachment/acceptance as small children to feel safe in the world. That we often fail to get what we need in typical ways from typical parents is what typically results in this pain seeming typical.
But the fear experienced by the person experiencing it is anything but typical.
“Wylie” will always be his most underrated and iconic character hands down. 🙌
This is awesome thanks for sharing
Awesome to see Seth, feels like it’s been a while.
you are a legend I will start watching your stuff now
Seth Green is one of those dudes who look totally different with a full beard.
I remember me and two friends decided to hit up a movie and spontaneously choose whatever was showing. I recall saying "lets see Austin Powers. I think its a comedy." They didn't care and we did. It just came out that weekend. That theater was DEAD! No one was in there but a few people. We thought it was a bad decision. We sat through it and when the scene came out where Dr. Evil and his crew was laughing over the dramatic music and the scene wouldnt cut and their laughter died out- we lost it! LOL Then later we saw the movie picked up momentum. Glad it's a classic.
I think it was the way Mike Meyers played the character Austin Powers that made those movies so great
The Neal dirty talk at the end makes me want more 😂
Seth is sporting a Clone Force 99 hat. Sweet 🤘🏻
Seth Green is one of those people I'm never disappointed to see, or hear, on screen. What a crazy little huge career he's had. I think Buffy or that teen movie he did, "Can't Hardly Wait" (maybe? I forget if that's its name or I'm conflating it with something else), was the first time I saw him. I am in my 40's now so I feel like I've always known who he was. He did a thousand and one things and all of them were, at least on some level, good. He was Howard the Duck, the creator of Robot Chicken, a teen star of both TV and Movies (back when those two worlds didn't co-mingle often). I bet he has some of the best stories and since he's a decent down to earth human, the ability to understand how crazy they are.
I'm so glad you two sat down together.
one of the funniest father son movie moments of all time
I love that 3 person play in a small theater how exhilarating to perform 🎭
Seth representing the Bad Batch with that sick hat
Scott Evil was only in the first movie a little bit, but was instant classic.
Seth Green sounds like he has a burned out Pool Filter in his throat...
Love Seths Veterans Stadium shirt.
Seth Green is such a pleasant human being.
Neal when are we going to listen to the full song of your podcast theme?
After he lets Seth finish a thought
I had no idea that was Carrie Fischer!
Hey, remember when Seth Green played Wylie in that movie, Airborne 😂😂
The Wylieman!🤣 Jack black was in it too
@Matthewfisch12 Yeah, I always thought that movie was funny. Nostalgic
I remember Seth from the 80s teen movie with Patrick Dempsey called Can't Buy Me Love.
Loving the Veterans Stadium shirt.
Oz Perkins is in legally blonde lol I recognized him immediately
1:13 this made me spit out my coffee because I had no idea a Carrot Top movie existed
I think Seth looks great these days. Would love to see him in more.
Shout out to that Old Globe theater next the San Diego Zoo!
"I might be Lawrence Olivier" Ha, beck yeah
amazing how every joke goes over Seths head
"Mini-me loves chocolate, Scotty don't!"
Seth talking about the frailty of humanity like he was in Ben Hur.
I love Seth and all his work. Sometimes I wonder if he needs to lay off the 'shrooms....
Im so proud of Scotty Evil
I hope Seth knows how awesome and funny as shit we think ha is.
Hope you know Issac happy named him a predator if minors before he "offed" himself
I could spend an hour asking him questions about Airborne.
Seth rockin the Clone Force 99 hat 🤘
Scott evil should be a Netflix show 😮 It’s an amazing idea. 💡. Let me be a writer ✍️
SCOTT EVIL 😈 Netflix series. Gold Idea. 💡
Seth rockin the Bad Batch
seth green was awesome in the italian job
Seth green reminding me of how old I am lol.
If I was on a deserted island for the rest of my life and had to choose only 3 comedy movies to have to watch Austin Powers would be one of those movies
Osgood Perkins may not act anymore but he's a good director now
David Kidney in Legally Blonde.
The Black Coat’s Daughter is great.
@@meursault-ey7wq the buzz on Longlegs is really good so far
I don't think an Austin Powers 4 would do well theatrically, but it would be a guilty pleasure perfect for streaming.
It would do well for a comedy. People are dying for a good theatrical comedy release and it would do well enough.
Seth is vocally aging into kriss Angel 😂😂😂
I thought the other guy was seth green like damn did you lose weight?
Austin it’s the mouth. “I get it. I’ve got bad teeth”
Holy cow that’s Carrie Fischer
@4:09
If I had to choose which guy was Seth from a picture I'd be stumped.
Seth with a beard 🧔♂️ 😂❤❤❤
Something happened in the early 2000s where I just stopped watching Mike Myers, and so did most other people I think. He really took the genius and drove it into the ground.
I JUST REALISED PRINCESS LEIA WAS IN AUSTIN POWERS!!! 🤯🤯🤯
I never realized that Green sounds like one of those acting inflation jargon phonies.
I remember the advertising for the 1st Austin Powers before it came to theaters being really weird. Like it wasn't even advertised as a comedy
I remember when it originally came out on video the dudes at my local blockbuster told me it was a terrible movie so I didn’t rent it until weeks later. They were wrong.
@@cactaceous So wrong they went out of business. 😅
It was 100% advertised as a comedy. The end of the trailer shows Austin trying to turn that cart around in the narrow hallway. I had to go see it as soon as I saw that.
"tear" hahahahahahahahahahahahahhhaha
Hard to believe Seth Green is 50 years old. 😞
Can't Hardly Wait came out 26 years ago. 😭
I know god damn.. time flies man
I would love to see Seth in a play.
