    Don't know for sure but if I had to guess, dad was issued a 30 carbine during the conflict because he was pretty small in stature and they we're fairly light compared to the Garand. But he was large in heart and was there when they blew the swastika at Nuremberg Stadium, as well as the raid on Eagle's Nest and was a member of the famous 3rd ID 7th Army 💪🏼😎

    This better be old! He just said a Jungle in Korea and anyway where's the SVT40, JAPANESE mockups of the m1 and their underpowered submachineguns and faulty pistols; the German Walter rifles that mimicked the garand in function, mp40 and even the pps43?

    ... The Chinese were already in North Korea in June 1950 ... As they were in French Indo-China ... China was fighting. / supplying a two front war under the nuclear umbrella of Russia, and logistical support...

      China made a conscious decision 20 years ago to no longer aim for military takeovers for its lebensraum program, but to employ bio-weapons instead. It's one of those viruses they were developing that escaped in late Nov. in Wuhan: greatgameindia.com/coronavirus-chinas-secret-plan-to-weaponize-viruses/

    In WWII the American M3A1 grease gun was made by GMC's headlight division, the plant that used to make the iconic tear-drop shape headlamp housings seen on so many cars in the 30's. The stamped sheet metal design of the M3A1 was so cheap they were just $15 each. You know you're cannon fodder when they give you a $15 weapon.

    I would doubt that kar98 was used by soviet soldiers massively even if so, what about ammo? Mosins rounds did not fit into kar98. USSR produced enough mosin nagants for everyone tens of millions of rifles, but yeah, might be that some soldiers used german rifles for sure. Also, interesting fact that red army had biggest amount of troops equipped with automatic guns (starting from 1942) PPSH among other armies on western front (because of the lack of good MG`s and bolt action slow rate of fire) while germans mostly had good old kar98`s

      rednek easy the soviets who captured german weapons would pick the ammo up from the dead soldiers the germans did the same thing and the germans were producing 7.62x54r ammo because the germans were using so much russian rifles and they rechambered the ppsh41 to take 9mm ammo

    McNamara s m16 jammed. Cost much American life. The M1 Garand. Served early in Veit nam. Would have done better.

    The German Mauser was FAR superior to the Japanese Arisaka... I'd also say the Soviet Mosin-Nagant was also far better than the Arisaka!

    Latest and greatest...the M16? A lot of Vietnam vets would disagree.

      The defense department to procure CHEAPER ammunition didn't follow the designer's (Eugene Stoner) requirement for a particular blend of propellant CAUSING the weapon to develop jamming due to carbon buildup... This WAS rectified eventually but it was their fault, NOT the fault of the rifle!

    • @williamemerson1799
      @williamemerson1799 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheSpritz0 Yes, that's the history and I know about the chrome lining and propellant change, failure to clean properly and that's all well and good. It doesn't matter whether it was caused by cobwebs or pixy dust. The fact remains that some of the our guys didn't like or trust'em and elected to use discarded or captured AK's.

    • @TheSpritz0
      @TheSpritz0 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@williamemerson1799 ONLY until the issue was resolved were they to do that, both weapons have completely different noise signatures and you can get yourself shot (or have a grenade tossed in at you) ASAP in a battle by your own side especially if you are in some bushes/cover. Trust me dude, I spent 11.5 years in the service and fought in 2 wars, I wouldn't be caught with an enemy weapon UNLESS mine was just not going to be fixable :)

    • @williamemerson1799
      @williamemerson1799 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheSpritz0 Good for you "dude". I have an M16, correction, AR15, shot a fully auto AK and am aware of report signatures. Been shooting for about 60 of my 68 yrs. So I am well aware of report signatures. Reread my original comment. It wasn't my intention to cause M16 fan boy's undue stress. My statement was made due to reading, watching documentaries and talking to vets. AND, your UNLESS is the very reason they didn't trust the Mattel 16. Not too many had the option of reloading their ammo and chrome lining the bore/chamber or doing a thorough cleaning while coming under fire. Know what I mean Vern? Just to set the record straight, I like mine just fine and unless the American hating billionaire Jew becomes president I'll probably own more.
