I love the 1176LN rev D on a lot of things. The slight fuzz, the transformers tone. It just paints that pro harmonic signature on a lot of sources... one of the best gear ever designed.
In hardware, I really like the UA 4-710d which is four mono channels of 1176 with Transtube blending and i/o, to boot. Great sounding unit! In plugs, the Waves CLA is ok, but I can’t really go past the old Bomb Factory 1176; almost always puts in an appearance on my mixes, esp on drums.
this is literally the EXACT thing i wanted them to make for the 1176 stereo units, still looking to pickup my first warm audio devices and im even more excited now. (great singing by the way)
I haven’t had the WA76 in years but my memory tells me this new batch is leagues above in terms of retaining the bottom end as well as not mushing up the signal. The stereo version may be in my studio soon. Nice demonstration.
They do sound great. The only knock I have heard about Warm Audio products (from a very good tech) was that they were essentially un-repairable because the pc boards and traces within were too thin and fragile to handle being re-soldered. This was about 10 yrs ago and I wonder if they have addressed this issue?
Hey! I've owned Warm Audio gear for awhile now and in the last 2 years I've had to get my WA87 repaired as well as my TB12. Warm was super responsive and repaired both items quickly and it was no problem. Their pricing was super fair too since both items were out of warranty. Hope this helps!
I use my hairball bluestripe usually on vox, as it seems to add general intelligibility for consonants (I notice this as a general trait of it even at conservative settings, long before the grit or furriness than comes along when I hit it harder). But my Audioscape Rev F is also really cool for vox - it doesn’t do the intelligibility thing as much, nor can it get the same type of aggression…but it seems to have some kind low-mid bump where it makes things sound more robust and depth-y, and it’s like it has really good built in de-easing; it’s really good at amping up perceived loudness w/o increasing volume. I’ve got a BLA 17 as well, but honestly I don’t find it as good as the other 2, even with its bells & whistles, and have long been thinking of selling it. Been thinking about getting one of those Stam ones w/tube option, but honestly a 2-ch. bluestripe or Rev D would be super sweet…I hardly use my Art VLAii also, could make some space there. Esp w/wet dry and variable HPF, those stereo units could be insanely versatile…
Weirded me out because your room mics are weighted heavy to the right. Thought my monitors were weird. Pretty interested in the stereo Bluey. Sounds good.
Oh man, this is freaking exciting!! Bad part is that I love both the bluey and the blacky 😅. Blue first most likely for me. That is a very good price too. ❤
This is awesome! I’m really interested in that D2 on drums, but they both sound sweet. Question for you , Andrew: I’m on the hunt for a pair of new monitors. What drew you to the Barefoots?
@@itsstudiotime Thanks so much! I really appreciate the knowledge you share in your home recording videos, its definitely improved my mixing and recording skills a lot.
The resale value of hardware is dropping like a rock. Took almost 50% bath on a UA1176 made in 2019 that I had to pay $400 repair fee to UA to replace the OUTPUT knob. So, I had $2200 in it. When I needed to sell it, it was almost crickets and I'm just 2.5 hours away from Nashville. Ended up selling it for $1500 on Reverb, after fees I got $1300. Never again.
Can’t compare them, coz I don’t have any Warm gear yet, but I have a stack of Alctrons and they are awesome, for my money! I can compare Alctron’s 1RU units vs their 500 series. Both sound great, clear, and bust up very similarly when you drive them too hard, lol.
Why does the dry signal on the WA76-D2 (when you play with the wet/dry knob) come back in wider stereo then the wet? The stereo image totally changes anyway! 🤔
@@aubyoung1218 Yep, i guess it's a normal procedure, i think it was a smart move aswell to release this unit and make it stereo, at this time in particular, considering the recent effort from Behringer to try to place themselves on this market with their 33609 copy !
I’d love to hear Andrew describe the differences between the 1178 and a warm stereo 1176. I’d also be interested to hear what he would prefer. A stereo A or D if he could only have one.
What's your favorite 1176?
I love my WA-76. In my opinion, it's impossible to beat at the price point.

Hairball Audio 1176 Blue Stripe

Nice! Direct comparisons to the original WA76 would be interesting to hear.

Totally agree, and thank you!
Thank you. I really enjoyed your presentation. As entertaining as it is informative.
Much appreciated!

“I’m not much of a singer” 😂😂 Andrew you sound AMAZING bro
That’s definitely a stretch but I’m very grateful to hear that!! Thank you
I use my Warm Audio gear on every project I do. Such amazing bang for buck.
The bluestripe on vocals was really really good! I think B.L.A with there "Bluey" will get worried! Very impressive Warm Audio !!
That Bluey unit was super noisy! Yuck
Duuuuude.. I didn't realize this was Shimmer until you started on guitars! 💥
Yea that blue strip on the vocals sounded great, dang. Nice video!
Agree! thanks man
They sound really nice... YO! Your vocals sound great! Definitely want to hear some Andrew Masters originals with you singing!
Really appreciate that
@@itsstudiotime Yeah agreed, great singing.
Which mic did. you use, sound great!
Ironically the wa251
Bruhhhh, that snare tone is 🔥🔥🔥
"go easy on me im not that much of a singer" *proceeds to sing with an amazing voice*
My self-esteem as a singer: *not stonks*
Dude! The Blue Strip sounded so good! Tempted so go get one now haha. Also, more vocals please you sound genuinely amazing!
Anything by them is amazing
First time hearing your singing voice, very nice!
Appreciate it!
LOVE YOUR VOICE!!! so so good
Is it the same circuit and sound as the original wa76, or did the improve the sound besides the extra bells and whistles?
Was going to say "who TF needs ANOTHER 1176?" until I saw the Stereo unit... I guess I do.
Nice 👌 love your setup Andrew .
Thanks!
Blue stripe on vocals is the move bro!
You sound great!
Appreciate it!
Ive got plenty of 1176 clones but honestly, the inserts and internal power supply make the Blue Stripe worth it right there! Love the Dual 1176!
Can’t wait for mine to arrive. ❤
beautifull. i just got their WA76 ahahahah if I had known would have waited to get the blue stripe.

Finally a 1176 with a bypass ❤

would be nice If it was just one unit with a switch for channel A and B to choose between black or blue !

Yeah who knows how I had them set up on that session
shimmer~!!!!! where did you get these tracks?
I recorded them - it's a cover.
Yo Andrew you got pipes my man! Bro sings good!!! 🔥
haha I don't know about that, but thank you
Are the knobs stepped or detented at all?
‘Shimmer’ by Fuel 👍👍👍
Great singing, you sound great.
Appreciate that, thanks for checking it out
Oh man, this is freaking exciting!! Bad part is that I love both the bluey and the blacky 😅. Blue first most likely for me. That is a very good price too. ❤
Might grab the stereo one in the future
How is this possible!!! I cannot find this online anywhere and you managed to have one... Woooww amazing 🎉😮😮😮
They are available just about everywhere!
This is awesome! I’m really interested in that D2 on drums, but they both sound sweet.

ngl your singing actually sounds great. you should sing more. oh the compressors are cool too
Thanks man, your drumming is great!
@@itsstudiotime Thanks so much! I really appreciate the knowledge you share in your home recording videos, its definitely improved my mixing and recording skills a lot.
Blue stripe sounds killer on vocals - Also, that voice. You should sing way more.
stop it haha
Nice bro! 😎
Thanks dude
Wow they implemented a flam dial.

I’m hoping Warm will make a Fairchild clone. Imagine the dual 76D paired with the 670 clone.
I heard that the alcatron's clone of the 1073 sounds exactly the same as the Warm audio's clone. Could you make a comparison?
Can’t compare them, coz I don’t have any Warm gear yet, but I have a stack of Alctrons and they are awesome, for my money! I can compare Alctron’s 1RU units vs their 500 series. Both sound great, clear, and bust up very similarly when you drive them too hard, lol.

I wouldnt be caught dead mixing with warm stuff (at least not as good-tos) but for tracking their perfectly fine
that's such a ridiculous statement. a good mixer can get a lot of use out of these great tools
@@user-th6rh8zp3twhats the point if a plugin sounds as good or better than
Your vocal is great.... not sure why you'd doubt yourself 🤓👍
Such a good vocal, I'd stream the crap out of that song
andrew is the man! guy knows his shizz. i liked my old wa76, also have a UA rev D. new comps sound nice to me
just me who wonders if the market needs another 1176 clone?
Yo where can we here the Fuel cover???
Shimmer?
Been looking for a dual comp. KM184s-RND5211-?
Acoustic guitar and drum overheads etc. I’m not rich but this fits the budget.
might also want to check out the Heritage Audio Successor. They're on sale for $1299 right now and they sound fantastic.
@ yeah I looked at that for sure. I kinda didn’t want to get too Neveeee if that’s a thing. I love api 1176 punch type stuff
nice knobs
audioscape or warm?
I wanna know that too?!
It's replicas vs. lookalikes.
Audioscape
Design = better. Looks more legit
LOL not even 6h ago, they released a few instagram ads and you already there doing a review of it ! Not gonna lie, they look gorgeous
Early units are ALWAYS sent to a select few so there’s content for all of us to watch on launch day! Normal normal. 💯

Great.... guess I'm buying 2 more compressors 😂
rev d all the way
😍
I’d choose audio scape over warm any day
I would aswell, but not gonna lie these stereo versions are very appealing

Wow. That’s all I can say.
😂 That's funny. I couldn't stand the orange logo on the original either
2:29, 2:31, 2:35 BIG PAUSE LOL
Could it be a better option than Black Lion bluey ?
Nice bokeh.
Big Like from "ISRAEL" !!
I don’t know about anyone else but I hate WARM Audio’s products…..it must be just me.
More studio how to, less product reviews.
I like gear, so i'll probably make many product videos. You don't have to click on videos you don't want to watch.
