    I just applied today. I think everyone that wants to be one today simply has had the calling to be one. Call it god,call it purpose I don't know. But if there's a desire to at this point in history than it's pure and genuine. But personally I want to because I want to help. And I believe I can as a officer. Everything is against me and it will be hard but I gotta try.

    I remember growing up wanting to be a cop even as an adult I wanted to be one but what turn me off from being one is a lot of the shady stuff that goes on in departments all over the country and sometimes the world depending what county your in. Your asked to do or say things that you really don’t want to be apart of but have no choice due to the fact that it will either cost you your job or make your job harder with your fellow officers I just didn’t want to be apart of that shady ness.

    I left policing 20 years ago. I worked for the LAPD and the US government as a sworn police officer in both departments. Sadly I left because of the BS in politics and since I’m an independent thinker and not an ass kisser I didn’t make it in this career path. Policing if you are able to do the job is an amazing career. Sadly, the politics and the horrible command staff screw things up to make this into a career. Everyone has their own views, I respect your views but my experiences were from the 1990’s and the 2000’s. I would never get back into policing now if they gave me a million dollars. It’s just not worth it to me anyone. Stay safe!

There are so many opportunities and in the long run, the reward is greater than you can imagine.

    Good video. I've wanted to do the job since the second grade. I never questioned it until recently. During all the rioting, I saw videos of people throwing bricks, and molotov cocktails, and all other kinds of shit at the officers, and they just had to stand there and take it. And with a lot of the new legislature that will be coming in against the police, i'm a bit worried that at some point, you wont even be allowed to do the job anymore. Has anything changed for you since all of the recent events? Thank you for your service by the way.

      a few things to add to this video, now as an officer if you dont make enough stops or write enough tickets you will most likely get a poor score for your evaluation which means a loss of a raise and a good chance of getting transferred to a graveyard shift which in many cases could be a desk assignment.

    When you applied to be a police officer were you scared of the potential dangers of the job? I’ve had the itch to be one but I keep spooking myself watching videos of officers being shot and killed and it makes me get cold feet. I wanna know if most officers have that fear and eventually get used to managing it or are you supposed to just be some type of person who doesn’t believe it could ever happen to them and you’ll be alright so you don’t think about it? I can see myself being good at being a cop but at the same time I’m not better than any of those statistics and obviously it could be any of us.

    • @biggvisuals
      @biggvisuals  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I knew there were dangers but policing is something that is a calling vs just doing it. Because if you're called to it despite the dangers you'll still do it and show up to work everyday. Are you nervous going to certain calls? Yea but you understand that you are someone who embraces those dangers to help others. Being shot can happen at any job. Is it more likely to happen being a police officer? Yes. But still can happen anywhere. Being a pilot is dangerous, being a school teachers these days can be dangerous, working on sky scrapers can be dangerous. Just find your why. And your why will/should always out weigh the dangers.

    The easy answer is NO! This being the first video I've seen on this channel, I don't know if he has discussed his training or on the job training. Has he mentioned about the training everyone gets to lie to the public during an investigation or traffic stop? Has he talked about the "thin blue line" and how it is not to be crossed? New officers will learn this means covering for cops when they see them do the wrong thing or violate someone's rights. New recruits will be told how easy it is to mute or turn off body cams at the right moments. This is just the tip of the corruption inside PD's all over our country.
