Hello everyone! Per a request, here are some apartment hunting tips for you in Cambodia. Donate: www.paypal.me/daveinthailand or www.ko-fi.com/ddcambodia
Thanks Dave hope you and the wife get well soon !!!
Thank you very much. Feeling a lot better today!
Had a great experience with IPS. Very professional and no mumbo jumbo BS.
A different service I tried at first did the old bait and switch on prices, then asked me to pay them $15 for their time when I told them I didn’t need them anymore. Won’t drop names here.
Get well and keep healthy
Sucks > not feeling well Dave. Been there & done that too many times myself. Hang in there and it will get better - eventually. -- I've got the 'proverbial' - "mixed emotions" over moving to SR. -- Long term primarily having limited funds & the financial inability to move on from there - virtually anywhere else ? It certainly appeals to me there more than anywhere else & is a real blessing in this world for my economic circumstances ! Prior to discovering SR it was the Philippines as my retirement destination yet it poses unique challenges which Cambodia doesn't have. -- I do see why you are so enthralled with life where you are ! Collectively there are many good reasons for a peaceful comfortable cheap existence !!! -- Suits my frugal style in almost every way as well. -- All the best my friend - I'll be quite happy to buy you a few beers when I get there. I'll want to celebrate living my remaining years there as - you - were 'the icing on the cake' - in making my decision. > Live long and prosper !!!
@@ForAndroid101> I appreciate the feedback - need all I can get I suppose. -- Women aren't at all part of my retirement adventure. -- Lived in Louisiana for 2 years & saw 96 @ midnight w/100% humidity with fog really thick ! No ac in my car but did have in my apartment. (Has to be similar ?) -- Likely have to do what is needed very early AM and in late afternoon or evening for several months ? -- Could be miserable finding an apartment in that heat until the right one is found - then perhaps repeated too many times for comfort ! I'm just too old to enjoy that !!! -?- Likely the worst for me. - - - Yea - I pass where Spanish is needed. Did consider Chapala & Cuenca where it wasn't needed so much. Both have since lost their economic (& safety) appeal to me. -- Lipa City remains cheap & doable for around $800 - 1- 1/2 hours S of Manila. At 1000 feet elevation it's cooler there. Fewer expats & off the radar. But still brown outs & other pain in the ass issues typical for there. -?- No 'shangri-la' either ! It is scenic and beautiful around there & Tagaytay too - check them out. $2.50 bus ride w/ac from Manila Airport. Rents around $150 still. Cheaper in Lipa. --- Best of luck to you as well. We all need some.
I'm happy I could help and I look forward to meeting you when you get here! Yes, it's a huge decision and there's no such thing as a "perfect" place but Siem Reap came about as close as possible for my particular needs and I hope it does for you as well.
Are the rents still cheaper than two years ago?
Great content Dave. Hope you and everyone feel much better soon. But I was feeling motion sickness watching this video.
Take care. Namo Buddhaya 🙏🏼 ☸️ 🌴
where are your books available from? Amazon? Ko-Fi?
(it has 3, brookhaven, monsters, things that happen at night).... im feeling Brookhaven... wouldnt mind a hard copy.
They're all available on ko-fi. I don't have physical copies because of the cost to print them.
Which city is this?
Siem reap
I'm in Siem Reap.
Hey Dave,
Thank you for a😂ll the excellent content.
When you have a moment take a look at the question I asked you on your last video.
Thank you in advance Dave.
Be well 🙏
The apartment nect to Kelly and his close company next door name please?
Yikes, sorry that you are sick…
Thanks but I'm finally feeling better now! That cold hit me hard lol
Good basic information
Thank you!
ISP or something, that helps.
Brilliant information dave 👏 😊
Thank you very much!
Do you get your deposit back - after renting in Cambodia?
Some places don't require a deposit. For those that do you'll sign a lease which has all of the details for the deposit and what the terms are for getting it back once your lease is up.
The body is miraculous, even though sometimes it doesn't feel like it. Leases, or Agreements. On a direct rental with the owner, would these documents be in English or Khmer? If in Khmer, best way to handle - get a translation, hire someone to accompany and translate? Desiring minds like to know.
The lease documents will be in English. Both parties read and sign on move in day so there's no confusion over who's responsible for what.
🥱
Why is your visual so unsteady. It is very uncomfortable. Many other vloggers do the walk and talk without the earthquake effect. The informatin you provide is appreciated but I cannot subscribe to a channel that make their audience feel seasick. I am sorry. You seem like a great guy. Respectfully
