Miami vice was more than a show it was a real look at the other side of Miami , was on the edge at that time. Started it all when it came to real cop shows.

Yep. Ironically, I was depressed during the late 1980s. I was convinced that my life would always be miserable, but I didn't realize how good my situation was then (cheap gas, affordable community colleges, affordable groceries, more level-headed people to talk to (instead of these green/pink/blue-haired psychos who need to protest everything).

Don Johnson is inarguably a very cool guy (like his Crockett character) - and so is Jan Hammer - but looking back, now, this series often had embarrassingly-poor writing and acting. But I got sucked-in weekly, like everyone else in the '80s, due to its music video-like segments and colorful characters.

( they were expired so I shot them to use them up and put fresh one in my boat- 2022 and I still have the gun but no rounds ) I shot into a dirt mound and it burned for maybe 2 seconds and barely burned the dirt at the impact area. No where near enough heat to kill anyone must less knock them into a pool.

Don Johnson otherwise known as Sonny” Crockett, in mini vice was also a singer and he sung for real in one of the Miami vice shows. Dons still around today and still acting in shows like CSI Miami and other TV shows. And he’s still witty but funny even today nothing“changed. He’s now 72 and he’s changed a little but not much. I think in the mid/late 80’s a kid with a toy gun was killed by cops and after that a lot of toy guns started to be made in bright colors. You might remember “Entertech” water guns. As far as cap guns, there were Japanese model guns that you would put caps in brass cartridges that screwed apart. They could shoot full auto. They’re referred to as PFC or “plug-fire cap”. They made a MAC-10 with suppressors.

Proper gun discipline was never a big thing in the shows of the 1980s. Lost track of how many scenes in a show had someone holding a shotgun at a high port with the barrel pointed at someone's head while fully loaded. Someone who wasn't even the intended target.
The 1980s - Great shows, lousy weapon discipline.

Considering that all the main cast were given extensive firearms training, that was cringeworthy.

Ironically they give Jackson (Gary Coke) a new identity so, he becomes an amateur race car driver and finally has a son he named Ricky (Bobby). Who’s iconic phrase is “if you’re not first, you’re last”.

That aircraft is a Lake LA-250 Renegade. The sponsons (floats) are clearly visible as it taxis. Watch the clip again.

Tell the first two to any modern police procedural and suddenly MV looks like Pulp Fiction.
In all seriousness, I still think MV is an unironically excellent show.
