If this 1966 Chevelle Super Sport 396 4-speed car looks showroom new, it’s because it practically is… this one has lived a very pampered life. With just over 10,000 miles driven it’s a great example of a surviving time capsule from The Brothers Collection.

Best looking Car ever made. My Dad had two 66 SS Chevelles. I had my 66 Malibu for over twenty years. I also had a 67 Malibu.

had a 66 SS396 ... same fire engine red, white convertible top, white buckets, 4-speed, 4:56 rear end. 55 mph was 3k on the tach..top speed 110. But man, it didn't take long to get there. Also, around town, it was able to achieve an amazing 5 mpg~! The guy I bought it from raced it at the Summer Nationals in I wanna say, Cape May, NJ? around 1967. It won its class...prob D stock (?) and I've got pictures of the car with the trophy on the radiator cowling and another with the top down and his wife in it. Sadly, I JUST finished reading his obituary 20 minutes ago! I paid $1500 for it in 1969 with 14k on the clock! Great guy...awesome car. I always thought they were just a handsome, muscular looking car.

My dad (R.I.P.) had one. It was yellow. The only reason I remember it is because he had a pic of it from 1972 with me and my dad leaning on it. I was only 2 at the time.

Nice example and amazing to find one as showroom new at that one is! That was my first car back in 74. Maroon with a black bench seat. I like the 67 a bit more and moved on to have 3 of those but the series was always great looking no matter the year.

One of Chevrolets best Chevelle, not much could touch that in 66. And I think I might have put about 250 miles on the 70 last summer here in the rust belt of Iowa, it has 38k original.

I like the 68-69 GM A-Bodies the best. A 69 427 COPO Chevelle is my favorite mid size GM car ever made...
but A 69 Ram Air IV GTO(not a Judge) is a close second. The 68-69 Olds 442/Hurst Olds and Buick GS400 were beautiful cars though too and typically had more luxury options than a Chevelle or GTO... But I prefer the more stripped down sleeper cars

Mine is a 66 Chevelle SS only it a built 327 with a 350 four bolt main block and forged Vette crank , ported heads, 12:5 Compression pistons , aluminum intake , 750cfm carb , Crane cam , headers , 11 inch clutch , Lakewood blow proof Bellhousing , M-20 Muncie 4 speed trans , 12 bolt posi with Traction bars ,
    The big block makes 360hp
My little 327 makes 450hp and 100 pounds lighter and revs to the moon at 11,000rpm before the valves start to float , and when I let out the clutch both front tires leave the ground , I grab second and the tires go back up again
    5.5 sec @ 96 in the 1/8 mile with a 1050cfm Holley carb
    Auto-trans
11.5 sec @ 127 in the 1/4 mile with the 750cfm elderbrock carb.

I have a 1989 Chevy K1500 with 85,000. Only put 7,000 miles on it since 2004. It has a few rare options on it like the 5-speed manual transmission, bucket seats with a center console, step side bed, and then the sport package is the rarest of them all which is what I got. Out of the 200,000 trucks made that year only 5,900 of them came with the sport package not only for looks like the body colored grille and a black and red bow tie but also came with different shocks, springs, and sway bars to make it a nicer handling ride over all. I hide its true identity by putting the factory flat black grille back on it and switched out the bow tie to gold. You'll never a find another truck like what I got, I'll never sell it for anything else.

Absolutely beautiful, my name is Aubrey Whaley and this has only brought back fun memories of the two Malibu's I once had. One I raced at local drag strip Yellow Belly and the other I obtained through working at a screwball low dollar car dealership. If walk customers past this jewel car that was completely covered in moss and dust and bird pop. Until one day as Spider sensors kept tingling as I would by this every day something told me push away tree trimmings as I stopped showing a car to a customer of the newer cars. I dang near had a heart attack seeing that 66 Belle. I ran past Forest Gump to the payment window and asked for the owner the company to sell it to me. He laughed and replied ( it hadn't ran since 1972 ) I didn't care it was 1998 now he laughed again just give me 700.00 Aubrey and I did two weeks later(low dollar car lot) 327,powerglide, one rust spot back window, and moose hole in floorboard. I loved both cars but both were stolen from me one from the city of Dallas and the other bad relationship I couldn't find her or the Car(20 yrs) still hoping to find one in my budget I only make 15.00he,lol

Mine had rally wheels, buttercup yellow, close ratio power steering, dyna 60 12 bolt rear, 4 speed beast . I got it 3 years old at the young age of 16. Fasted kid in town. I could put that honey in a half a cars length sideways between to a cars. She was a rat trap that would spring. The L34 is a great street rod.

    • @nojunkwork5735

12 bolts are not Dana 60 rear ends. Chevrolet didn't offer close ratio steering on the 66 Chevelle.

Yes, L78 was available, but no 427. Some dealers installed the 427, but not from the factory.

Ok I was thinking why would they skip one year for the L78 and the 427 was in the big chevy ss but they had the 400 cubic inch ban in effect a shame they did that but that's corporate for ya

Chevelles seem to be US muscle car royalty, I like this well enough, but I have to say I don't "get" it, from this side of the pond I see El Camino as a cooler option.....
Also surely sub 11k miles is a waste of a car, sat somewhere and not being driven seems so wrong to me!
