Even though I DO NOT like this movie. I appreciate it and am glad it exists. Because you never know, if this movie wasn't made we may not have gotten Halloween 2018 which I absolutely love.
I love this movie. It's beautifully shot and realistic. The dialogue is over the top at times but Bracket and Annie had a very powerful scene, and I thought the acting was overall wonderful

Best part of the Annie kill is the real life childhood home movies they used when they find her. it's hits you in the stomach 2 ways. It's a father that lost his child and wasn't there to protect his little girl. But if you are a Halloween fan you see Jamie Lloyd and it gets you for that connection to her. So one matter what you are emotionally crushed by that moment.

Zombies dialogue is filthy & blunt. He made Michael a homeless drifter & Loomis into the judge from American Idol. The white horse imagery really stopped the film cold
7:44 The cutting from Laurie and the Bracketts to Michael eating a dog shows how unsubtle Zombie is. In the 1978 film Loomis and Brackett find a dead dog Michael partly ate in the Myers house but it's offscreen and Loomis says "He got hungry" leaving you to wonder what condition the body's in. But with Zombie it's "Here's Michael chomping raw dog."
Once again this episode is better than the film you're talking about. Excellent work, I'm not going to revisit this again. Big pile of well hung white horse dung. 🥕

And 1 episode of CALIFORNICATION which was directed by David Duchonvy. Her 1 episode of CSI: MIAMI was directed by Rob Zombie. And her segment in GRINDHOUSE also directed by Rob Zombie. So of her 19 listed credits only 2 were not directed by Rob Zombie or weren’t a Rob Zombie music video.

it has nothing on the origonal but I have grown to really like it. Best kill- from the unrated version- the violent multi stabbing of Octavia Spencer. Worst character is the Dr Loomis of course. Like the unrated (I think) ending where Michael, Loomis and Laurie all die. Best scene Laurie actually finding out on screen that Michael is her brother and reacting to it- much needed!

Rob Zombie never wanted to do a 2nd film but the studio executives thought the 1st film made too much for them to let it go. The Cow wondering in the road makes sense seeing as they were surrounded by farm land for miles.

I’m sure someone here has already said it but man the cows down here in Florida wonder in the road in the middle of the night all the time.🤣 I’ve almost hit a few myself. Halloween 2 is the only Halloween movie where Laurie has Psychic powers. Powers that Laurie can't seem to fully control yet. This Laurie has PTSD and she's recovering from doing too much drugs.
I agreed with guys until about 8 years ago when this movie started to grow on me. I found myself becoming a member of the underground fandom. It's so different that it's fun now, but I totally get where you guys are coming from. It's more of a RZ artsy kind of horror. Halloween Ends has Myers in a hoboish fashion in the beginning. Not sure if this is them knodding to RZH2 but I can't wait to see it.

When my wife and I originally saw this film in 2009, it only happened because we happened to stumble upon it online. "Zombie made a Halloween 2?" we questioned. I must admit the opening hospital scene terrified me. Its brutality was overkill (no pun intended) and entirely unnecessary. But it scared us nonetheless. The wrath of Myers in the strip club was also unsettling and terrifying. The fear the film instilled in my wife and I was enough for us to like the movie at the time. But after subsequent viewings, we found the film to be a hot mess and extremely irritating. Great review, guys!

It is crazy but there was a time in my life that I lived through a real trauma. Even though sometimes Laurie is absolutely horrendous to watch that's what terror can do to people. There was a time where I was just as annoying as she was....
Great work guys! Listen to zombies podcast with Rogan and he gives some insight as to how he grew up. I don't think many of us would've turned out much different if we saw what he saw, his stories are hilarious but awesome! His family owned a traveling carnival and as kids they were all around it and he tells of a card night gone bad, that ended with gun fire, tents burning, dude getting his face smashed with a hammer lol saw all this as a little boy who made the candy apples with his brother
I actually like both the RZ films,I think the first one is really good and although people don’t like it because of the first half hour I like RZ version of Halloween.I do however have a lot of problems with this one,Laurie Strode being the main culprit and the stupid white horse moments,At least it’s got it’s own identity and doesn’t try to copy exactly the 2nd original film like NOES 2010 did.👍.Good video
There was one little moment that made me chuckle in this movie & it’s when Loomis is storming out of the building after doing that interview & he’s like “I have never been so humiliated in all my life!” & then he and his PA turn to the receptionist and are like in a cheery tone “Goodnight. Thank you!” 😄
Definitely agree with Brackett being the best character and Brad Dourifs performance. This film honestly could’ve just followed the Bracketts and Laurie and cut everyone else out I would’ve been fine with that.
I liked it quite a bit, as a stand alone slasher, when I saw it in the theater. Then I watched it more recently, and found it to be upsetting, pretentious, and irritating. Great episode guys !
I think you guys were a little generous to Rob Zombie here lol even if the studio got real involved, they were also really involved in the first one, the faults of this movie are most of the creative choices which have Zombie’s hands all over them, I would argue they gave him more freedom with this one than the first one which is probably why this one goes so far off the rails, I mean damn, we don’t even get the Halloween theme till the closing credits lol
Unpopular opinion, but I would take this film over that dumpster fire known as Halloween Kills any day of the week. Great show guys, and I appreciate you even covering these two films!
Regarding Laurie being so dirty when the doctors are fixing her up, i think its dumb and overtuned too, but you can make at least some sense out of it because its a dream, rather an nightmare. Different memories getting mixed up, thats why she sees herself in the state she was in at the final of Halloween 2007
The worse part with Rob Zombie’s Halloween films was that it was in a string of reimagined reboots. I respect the film attempting to reimagine the individual points of the original in a modern concept, but it was in the middle of a fad with Total Recall, Robocop, & Evil Dead. I wasn’t a fan of this film, though, because it was *so much* different from the original concept Carpenter put out.

I absolutely LOVE Loomis in this movie. He’s become a bit of a joke between me and my friend. Pantomime villain is definitely the word. PG Tips and I want it SIZZLING HOT

The theatrical version has grown on me and prefer it over the director’s cut. The acting in this is far better than Halloween Kills. Bracket and Annie were great. And evil did die in this one.
It is very unbelievable that Doctor Loomis is a huge asshole in the (2009) Halloween 2 remake since he was a likable character in the (2007) Halloween remake, and because an explanation is not given for why Doctor Loomis is a huge asshole in (2009) Halloween 2.
Yeah Zombie didn't wanted to do this. He only did it cause he found out that Weinstien to get everyone from H1 back for H2 told them that Rob Zombie already was sign on for the movie. So he didn't want to do it. but felt he had to do it for them. So he told someone at the studio during an award show that he was willing to do it as long as it was his movie and not a remake of 81.
I agree with Gilly. I want to add that I had H2(RZ)(TSL) in my plans of what to watch ( having watched #1) I was thinking RZ Used The Halloween name RZ should have made his movie without the connection to H1987.

Great job guys on the video. One word on this movie that describes it best to me is pathetic. Doctor Loomis gets turned into 1st class not job. Lori gets turned into a screaming out of control maniac. I own every Halloween movie made. But I would rather watch H5 on a loop for 3 straight days before I watch this movie.
Loved this video. My biggest issue with Zombie's Halloween is giving Michael Myers long hair because he has long hair. Second biggest is having a supernatural character played by a 6-9 bodybuilder. If death couldn't kill you, would you bother getting that big? Pointless; not worth the discipline and dietary commitment.

I know I’m in the minority but I do like this film and rank it higher than a good chunk of these movies. I like both rob zombie halloweens because I love how brutal it is. I love and appreciate the John carpenter version of Myers, but when I think of horror movies, I think of brutal, violent, gory. Etc. if you don’t like this version of Myers, then the John carpenter ones may be the one for you. But if you’re like me, you can choose or get the best of both.
I always put my best moments on these videos, because I like being positive about things, even things I don't like where it's hard for me to find a best moment! That said: This is the worst movie I have ever seen in my entire life. I saw it opening night on a date, gave it a second chance with the director's cut, and I liked it even less the second viewing. My date said it was her favorite Halloween, and I knew it wasn't meant to be. I re-watch every Halloween every October, and this is the only one I leave out. It's just an awful, mean-spirited movie that is devoid of any Halloween feeling, made worse by the fact that what would be the best part of the movie for me, is downplayed by it being a dream sequence.
I like the first one despite the flaws and them trying too hard to be different from the original. This one omg it's awful in so many ways. The ending, first time my fiance watched it with me, she turns and goes "what the fuck was that?"

This was just Rob Zombie living out his ultimate fantasy. I dont mind the violence etc, but fuck me that white horse just to fit his wife into the movie completely destroyed it. The worst of all the halloween movies by a country mile. Sad as it had a great opening.
I’m nervous about Halloween Ends gents. I’m thinking it will could be regarded much like RZ II…. I think going forward Michael and the other big slashers need to stay in their time periods. They’re meant to take place in simpler times. That’s where they’re most effective. I don’t like seeing these characters in modern times. Same with Universal Monsters for example, they belong in the Victorian era.
Seems like the more these movies go on the further they get away from true Myers. This new franchise never has him stalking, he’s a bull in a China shop and they shine a light on Myers too much. For instance the mob scene at the end of Kills. Having Michael in a situation like that was strange to see. But yea Ends seems like it will push the boundaries far. I hardly know anything but the vibe so far definitely worries me 😬
I'm a big fan of the theatrical cut, underlined theatrical cut of RZ H2. Yeah, big, big exacerbating flaws but the good for me outweighs the bad. And imo at least this movie takes itself seriously, unlike the new Blumhouse movies. And love that 16mm cinematography. And little trivia, Malcolm McDowell told RZ he'd only come back if he was allowed to play his character as a total prick. Rob should have said the movie will be fine without Loomis but I guess he's too star struck for his own good. More time could have been given to Brackett if we leave Loomis dead. Under no circumstances should Rob Zombie be allowed sole writing credit on any movie because wow. WTF is he thinking with some of that dialogue?
Damn, I hate this movie. Michael is supposed to be The Shape. A cold, emotionless killer. All the kills in this POS were brutal and over the top violent. Why was Loomis such an unlikable asshole? F this movie.
This movie is very laughable because Michael Myers has the same physical look for beard and long hair as Rob Zombie in the Rob Zombie Halloween 2 remake except Rob Zombie seriously wants us to take this extremely different looks like a homeless person Michael Myers seriously in the very unique Halloween 2 remake.
The GOOD news is.....after Halloween Ends, Everyone that hates this movie, will be singing a different tune about it after ends. Not a lot.....lol but Ends.....oh boy! Not good.....

Definitely agree with Brackett being the best character and Brad Dourifs performance. This film honestly could’ve just followed the Bracketts and Laurie and cut everyone else out I would’ve been fine with that.

I liked it quite a bit, as a stand alone slasher, when I saw it in the theater. Then I watched it more recently, and found it to be upsetting, pretentious, and irritating. Great episode guys !
Sheri Moon Zombie had a small part in the remake of The Toolbox Murders, which she may have done before marrying Rob Zombie.

I think you guys were a little generous to Rob Zombie here lol even if the studio got real involved, they were also really involved in the first one, the faults of this movie are most of the creative choices which have Zombie’s hands all over them, I would argue they gave him more freedom with this one than the first one which is probably why this one goes so far off the rails, I mean damn, we don’t even get the Halloween theme till the closing credits lol

Regarding Laurie being so dirty when the doctors are fixing her up, i think its dumb and overtuned too, but you can make at least some sense out of it because its a dream, rather an nightmare. Different memories getting mixed up, thats why she sees herself in the state she was in at the final of Halloween 2007

The worse part with Rob Zombie’s Halloween films was that it was in a string of reimagined reboots. I respect the film attempting to reimagine the individual points of the original in a modern concept, but it was in the middle of a fad with Total Recall, Robocop, & Evil Dead. I wasn’t a fan of this film, though, because it was *so much* different from the original concept Carpenter put out.

The theatrical version has grown on me and prefer it over the director’s cut. The acting in this is far better than Halloween Kills. Bracket and Annie were great. And evil did die in this one.

It is very unbelievable that Doctor Loomis is a huge asshole in the (2009) Halloween 2 remake since he was a likable character in the (2007) Halloween remake, and because an explanation is not given for why Doctor Loomis is a huge asshole in (2009) Halloween 2.

Yeah Zombie didn't wanted to do this. He only did it cause he found out that Weinstien to get everyone from H1 back for H2 told them that Rob Zombie already was sign on for the movie. So he didn't want to do it. but felt he had to do it for them. So he told someone at the studio during an award show that he was willing to do it as long as it was his movie and not a remake of 81.
I did not like the theatrical but the Director's cut makes a bit more sense. It's ok. I don't hate it.

I agree with Gilly. I want to add that I had H2(RZ)(TSL) in my plans of what to watch ( having watched #1) I was thinking RZ Used The Halloween name RZ should have made his movie without the connection to H1987.

Great job guys on the video. One word on this movie that describes it best to me is pathetic. Doctor Loomis gets turned into 1st class not job. Lori gets turned into a screaming out of control maniac. I own every Halloween movie made. But I would rather watch H5 on a loop for 3 straight days before I watch this movie.

Loved this video. My biggest issue with Zombie's Halloween is giving Michael Myers long hair because he has long hair. Second biggest is having a supernatural character played by a 6-9 bodybuilder. If death couldn't kill you, would you bother getting that big? Pointless; not worth the discipline and dietary commitment.

I know I’m in the minority but I do like this film and rank it higher than a good chunk of these movies. I like both rob zombie halloweens because I love how brutal it is. I love and appreciate the John carpenter version of Myers, but when I think of horror movies, I think of brutal, violent, gory. Etc. if you don’t like this version of Myers, then the John carpenter ones may be the one for you. But if you’re like me, you can choose or get the best of both.

That said: This is the worst movie I have ever seen in my entire life. I saw it opening night on a date, gave it a second chance with the director's cut, and I liked it even less the second viewing. My date said it was her favorite Halloween, and I knew it wasn't meant to be. I re-watch every Halloween every October, and this is the only one I leave out. It's just an awful, mean-spirited movie that is devoid of any Halloween feeling, made worse by the fact that what would be the best part of the movie for me, is downplayed by it being a dream sequence.

I like the first one despite the flaws and them trying too hard to be different from the original. This one omg it's awful in so many ways. The ending, first time my fiance watched it with me, she turns and goes "what the fuck was that?"

This was just Rob Zombie living out his ultimate fantasy. I dont mind the violence etc, but fuck me that white horse just to fit his wife into the movie completely destroyed it. The worst of all the halloween movies by a country mile. Sad as it had a great opening.

I’m nervous about Halloween Ends gents. I’m thinking it will could be regarded much like RZ II…. I think going forward Michael and the other big slashers need to stay in their time periods. They’re meant to take place in simpler times. That’s where they’re most effective. I don’t like seeing these characters in modern times. Same with Universal Monsters for example, they belong in the Victorian era.
With all the rumours this week, Ends is going to be ... interesting
Seems like the more these movies go on the further they get away from true Myers. This new franchise never has him stalking, he’s a bull in a China shop and they shine a light on Myers too much. For instance the mob scene at the end of Kills. Having Michael in a situation like that was strange to see. But yea Ends seems like it will push the boundaries far. I hardly know anything but the vibe so far definitely worries me 😬
I'm a big fan of the theatrical cut, underlined theatrical cut of RZ H2. Yeah, big, big exacerbating flaws but the good for me outweighs the bad. And imo at least this movie takes itself seriously, unlike the new Blumhouse movies. And love that 16mm cinematography. And little trivia, Malcolm McDowell told RZ he'd only come back if he was allowed to play his character as a total prick. Rob should have said the movie will be fine without Loomis but I guess he's too star struck for his own good. More time could have been given to Brackett if we leave Loomis dead. Under no circumstances should Rob Zombie be allowed sole writing credit on any movie because wow. WTF is he thinking with some of that dialogue?

Damn, I hate this movie. Michael is supposed to be The Shape. A cold, emotionless killer. All the kills in this POS were brutal and over the top violent. Why was Loomis such an unlikable asshole? F this movie.
This movie is very laughable because Michael Myers has the same physical look for beard and long hair as Rob Zombie in the Rob Zombie Halloween 2 remake except Rob Zombie seriously wants us to take this extremely different looks like a homeless person Michael Myers seriously in the very unique Halloween 2 remake.
The GOOD news is.....after Halloween Ends, Everyone that hates this movie, will be singing a different tune about it after ends. Not a lot.....lol but Ends.....oh boy! Not good.....
