When i still played GTA i only cheated in cash to get cool looking cars, play the missions with my friends and enable god when i get attacked by a god mode hacker.

They can actually do that. Not remove money, but make them useless, and add some other currency - gold, diamonds, whatever - for all new content. If this currency only be ubtainable by microtransactions - problem solved.

Start Netlimiter, expand the gta5 process info, whoops... every single players IP + port listed and Netlimiter helpfully geolocates the IPs for you when you click on them (showing you where they're from). And that's just with your character idling in a random online session

Yeah but that's the problem, everyone forgets what "hacking" actually is. This is just injecting a few lines of pastebin code into a game using whatever is left from their dead brain cells. Either way, they're just wasting money because people will probably improvise new tactics to avoid modders. As someone who has made their own menu to protect myself against P2Cs - there's a few corrections:
- 4:12 - They _cannot_ get your IP using your SCID without being in your session. They can join your session (i.e in spectator so you won't see them) using your SCID and get it that way but it is impossible for them to just "grab" your IP out of thin air. GTA is a P2P game so your IP is given to other clients so they can connect to each other.
- 6:05 - Teleporting players to Perico is a script event which you can call on them (for some odd reason). It is no different than scripted kicks.
- 6:18 - Spoofing your SCID to be the same as another player does nothing to your account. You _CANNOT_ be banned for another player spoofing as your SCID. This is ONLY client side (i.e you can still tell their REAL SCID and most P2Cs do just this to check for spoofed data) and any activity is still linked to their _REAL SCID_ not yours. There is a reason bans are linked to your CD key NOT the account ID!
- 7:30 - Dev mode - they _DO_ use these tools mentioned (spectating etc) to record people modding. In fact if you watch money drop streams you'll notice Admins joining, spectating them then the streamer is banned. In-game metrics and "modder events" also tip off admins such as "REPORT_CASH_SPAWN_EVENT".
- 9:29 - R* hotfixed insurance fraud by removing bad sport and paying for destroying another PV but re-introduced it 6 months later as they detect when multiple "player vehicles" are being spawned and destroyed in quick succession. Insurance fraud didn't use your SCID at all. They would spawn a vehicle and set themselves as the owner, then spawned an owned explosion (blaming you) for destroying it.
- Pulling players into your session has been patched for over a month now. To R*'s credit (compared to the mess GTA's "anti-cheat" is) they patched it the same day it was publicly leaked (and 2 weeks after it was first discovered albeit private). This is because it relied on a server-side function to work so was trivial for them to fix it and have the fix sent out to all clients instead of having to bundle together a client side update and have it distributed.
You addressed most of the inaccuracies I noticed as well. Good stuff.

I'm sad to say that it's come out that even using a VPN doesn't save you from IP detection because many mod menus now have a feature that allows the modder to see your original IP so even if you were to play 1 day without it then they can see the original

@@Mythtician simple, on fivem you simply can't use them, there are certain servers where everyone who joins that server can use a custom mod menu ( all abuse options removed ) and can spawn in cars and do animations. I've played on fivem hence why I know this.

@@Chuked most don't? Do YOU even play gta? I have played 3000 hours on pc, there is not a single public session without at least 1 cheater these days. They are immature pests. They don't leave you alone. I can play for a few minutes before someone spawns explosions on everyone in the server. There might be some modders that don't bother other people, but there are way too many that just grief people for no reason.

There's a few inaccuracies here but this is by far the most well researched video on this topic as of late. Well done.
As for the Luna "exit scam", as it's generally referred to within the modding "community", you hit on a few key points. Let me provide a few more if I may:
- The Apology message wording is off in two different ways, T2 has always been strict on the wording when it came to other menus that have been cease and desisted prior.
- T2 legal is closed on weekends, communications with them happens during the week, yet this all happened on a weekend.
- It's a bit too early for T2 to send out CnDs as its always near the end of February to end of April.
- The timing of the exit happened before the aforementioned normal time window, which is what you would do if you wanted to avoid a potential CnD/suit in said time window.
- When they send you the CnD they effectively gag order you other than the apology message they make you leave on your site, Luna has violated that "gag order".
- The chances of a suit not being filed alongside any CnDs is effectively zero and there has been no suit filed to this very day.

I had gta on ps3 yrs ago when it was first released with no internet but just got it again on ps4 and I'm so late. I can't see how anyone can think rdo is better than gtao.

My favourite thing with this stuff is that my dad use to be an actual hacker (not like gaming hacks but like legit) so in order to protect our internet and shit he made a program that whenever an attack would happen, the program detects the attack then basically does a mirror to the person. So whatever they would try DDoS or lock me out of our internet, it would bounce it back to the attacker and do it themselves! The best is that you would see the IP address of the attacker and see they're attempts they're making, it's awesome little thing

You understand that, if the person isn't totally brain dead they'd either use a proxy or a vpn to hit you off with so you can't trace it back? There's many programs that lets you know what IP is hitting you off, it's nothing special but then again 95% of these people who do this have 0 clue what they're doing and hit others off without hiding their own identity.

Good points mentioned. I have a mod menu for my own safety. I have been griefed many times by modelers so I realized I need en one for myself, I made my own mod menu and I have not been detected. The amount of knowledge needed is very low. I started coding in September and in December I had the required coding skills.

I remember a gltich where you could sit around and do nothing when you requested a vehicle, you got the money from that contently, the way rockstar fixed it was making requesting a vehicle free, so the glitch still works, you just don't get money from it.

I always remembered those pc users that got sweaty whenever someone said that this was going to happen to GTA online. They always said that modders and hackers wouldn't affect the game and that mods would be beneficial to GTA (which is true for story mode) but for online, it's killing the player base. I should have figured that this would happen to GTA but I never knew it would get this bad. For once it's actually better to play on a console version of a game than the pc version.

@@reflexx8332 Got Impulse essential for 10 euros, and you can spoof your IP and Rockstar ID, also has a lot of protection against other modders so they won't crash your game or kick you out the lobby, incredible menu for 10 euros, it even has aimbot lol
The character transfer system had me fucked up when I realized I couldn't get my level 30 ps3 account on PS4. It was never about the play time, but the time I played into the account. All the nostalgia, the memories,etc. Gone.
Its moments like these that make me feel good about playing GTA on ps and not my PC.
