There's another SUPER Tip that's in this video - th-cam.com/video/ux2WE5OTeDE/w-d-xo.html That you absolutely need if you want your drone footage to look like it blends in with your camera footage
Thank you for taking the time to produce this video. Very much appreciated!! I was hoping to come here and get some advice on what you feel is the most streamlined video editing program to use with the Mini Pro 3? I am an old wedding videographer that used Adobe Premiere back when dinosaurs roamed the earth and a 20GB hard drive cost $2000 USD ;-) I have a relatively new MacBook Pro that I work on which of course has iMovie built in. Not sure if there are more streamlined programs out there? I read where DJI recommends LightCut but not sure how good that program really is? Thanks for any input or suggestions you can offer.
Thank you. I remember those dinosaur days 😀 There’s trials of everything from Final Cut, Resolve, Premiere Pro and plenty more. Personally I’ve used Premiere Pro for well over a decade on a daily basis. Lightcut is actually made by DJI so they’ll push it regardless What I’d suggest is download all the trials and see which one suits you best. They’ll all do the same thing in the end, with a few variations and specific unique to each. Although not that unique either 😀
Wow I never knew about creating a proxy. You learn something new. I usually find short edits aren't an issue anyway but for large edits with lots of effects. This is a great time saver. Thank you
Hi, Nice video thanks! Do you have any idea how to transfer D-Cinelike videos to Mac? Is it only working with a sd card reader (for me doesn't work by plugging the drone to the computer)?
Hey 👋 to be honest the best and fastest way to transfer is via the SD card reader. Not sure about the other way if it’s not working (try a different cable maybe)
hi Vic, great, content. I have a question , Ive recently got my. self a dji mini 3 pro and I'm trying to make a decision on what to get for editing with. I have the Samsung galaxy s8 ultra tablet in mind and a laptop. If a laptop, which one would be suitable apart from the apple mac. If. the s8 ultra would do then great. Cheers
Hey there. It really depends on what you’re wanting to do in the edit to be honest. If it’s straight forward cuts and a little bit of colour grading, then something like Lumafusion on the tablet may be good enough.
Hi Vic thank you for the great videos you do. I'm new at flying the DJI mini 3. When I fly for 35 minutes and record also 35 of 4K video. My SD card shows four separate videos like I stopped recording then started then stopped etc. How do I make it all one video?
The app is restricted to FAT32 and that limits the recording file size so that’s why the “one” recording is split into multiple files. There’s also some theory about a customs limitation on recording sizes but not sure about that. Regardless there’s no way around this
Hey there. Thank you. Really appreciate the sub. I’m using premiere pro for Adobe. Ultimately though all editing software will do the exact same thing. Some are more advanced or have different features compared to others. But they all do the same thing at the end of the day. If you’re trying to figure out which one is for you then get a trial of all of them and see which one feels good to you. 🙏
creating proxy is good, but I just would like to shoot and edit videos smoothly without making proxies. Thinking about getting a new Mac mini specifically for editing. Do you think the new m2 pro Mac mini would cut out all the stutter? I'm looking to get the maxed out version. 🤔
Hi so I'm interested in getting a laptop for serious editing I have DJI air 2S, and I'm starting to build clients, so I need something I can edit professionally on. What laptop would you recommend? I could really use your advice
Hey Natalie. How long is a piece of strinfb 😂 it’s a hard one to to recommend because it depends on budget and what software you’re planning on using. The new m2 Macs with 32GB ram will be decent from what I see. I’ve used the older ones (m1 pro) without issue. Ultimately processor, ram and graphics card are what go look it as well as storage. Hope that helps.
Great video but you say you can crop into 4k video and not lose quality. That's only the case if your working with a 1920x1080 project. If your project is 4K and your footage is 4K cropping into it will make the footage soft and blurry depending on how much you crop in.
@@VicBarry Upscaling a 1080 composition to 4k doesn't make it for 4k. Why work in a 1080 timeline when you lose the 4k crisp quality? Is it so you can punch in to your footage?
@liquid79 it doesn’t. You’re still working with 4k footage. It absolutely gives scope to crop in and reframe. If you’re working on a 4k timeline you have no real scope for this. I know it all sounds a bit counterintuitive but this is a standard practice

Thanks alot 👍 that helped a bunch
You are so entertaining. Oh, and smart. And helpful. Please keep the videos coming. Count me in as another who didn't know about the proxy.
Thanks so much Kim. Yeah. The proxy option is super useful. I’d be lost without it
Vic, I love your your video informative and fun. Thank you!

Awesome, thank you!

hey Vic i just started wit the DJI Avata... what editing software are you using on laptop or pc ?
Hey David, for me 99.9% of the time it’s Premiere Pro. And very occasionally for something very quick on mobile, CapCut
Wow I never knew about creating a proxy. You learn something new.

Hey there. Thank you. It’s super useful to be honest and just makes life that little bit easier 🙏
Is it feasible to use an iPad Pro for all editing and what apps might be useful? Thanks.
It is actually. Lumafusion or Premiere Rush are the best options IMO

Awesome job Vic! 🤙
Thanks dude
Vic, I think we need to talk about the pink Marigolds. Great video.
hahahahahah I normally go for the yellow ones, but the pink ones worked out well :)
Hi, does drones take raw video format? Can I take black and white videos? Thanks
What software do you use for editing the videos?
👋 Premiere Pro

Thanks for proxy tip. I have to agree that I ve been using premiere for years and never knew about it. I am going to test it now 😊

Lumafusion or resolve 🙏
Shoot in 4k zoom in and not lose any quality ? Make sure you tell people to have a 1080p timeline
When should I film in normal(dewarp) vs wide angle? This is more of a question about the DJI Action 2.

Which laptop is best to have to view 4k ?
MACBOOK PRO

Exactly. Maybe I didn’t make that clear enough. I’d never work with a 4k timeline. 1920 always and render out at 4k
