Quick tip for Leo / Lushen x 2: Run Will runes on your slower Lushen. This will improve the win rate quite a bit. Once you start hitting Nemesis activated units, the second has protection against Miho stuns, Psamathe Despair stuns on revive, and Jeanne taunts. Also, target the Nemesis healers with you Leo's first hit. You want them to activate and waste their heal and not cut between your Lushen attacks.
Funny, I actually mentioned all of those things in the original recording, but edited them out because it was such a long video and I was focusing more on theorycrafting than specific comps :p I haven't actually that team in a while because the win rate is too low, and I de-runed my lushens last frr. For anyone reading comments I'll add that these same principles apply to all cleaves - the 2nd monster (at least) should always be in will runes, whatever the cleave team may happen to be :)
Curious what your opinions are on the following cleave team setups 1 - Ethna, bastet, kahli, odin (same bastet/khali/odin for siege. need a cr lead. but 45-50k for both kahli and odin. this one got me to c2 with a few struggles. mostly triana + vanessa pairs. daphnis wasn't built at the time, was just seeing where my main siege offense would land me in arena. . almost made c3 with it was a hair off. ) 2 - Daphnis, Bastet, kahli, odin (similar concept. but better into triana + vanessa pairs. where I need to kill triana first, and odin isn't reliable to pick off vanessa after) 3 - ethna/daphnis, bastet, kahli, coveant (a little more difficult to pull off. since odin gets to freely snipe on back to back turns. covenant can't.) 3 - spd lead (varies. seara is new so gonna try her. no 33%'s), bastet, konamiya (double fight), lushen (13k cards) 4 - jamire, lushen/jullie, konamiya, taeon (sp tune to kona/taeon first for lushen, jamire resets amp, 2nd resurge, 3nd amp). This one I haven't built or tried at all. jamire is still unskilled 5*. As cheong and seara took devilmon prio. 5 - Seara, Dover, stripper (clara maybe. seems more reliable than chiwu. and would also let me spd tune them for siege def), malaka/sian (sian more likely than malaka. but I plan to make those 2 tuned together using malaka leader to remove sians accuracy requirements. and go malaka/sian/x for a siege offense. so that tuning would make accuracy tuning for AO a bit less reliable.) A few units I havent figured out how I'm going to use yet, as i'm pretty poor at desining AO's. are cheongpung, chiwu, wedjat, rica, Thrain, Posseidon (not skilled yet),. . . but alas, still no 33% spd leads or kabilla. . . though if the c3 defenses I was looking at are anything to go by. taking a turn 1 lushen would be a pretty poor idea. . . their weren't actually that many defenses that were designed to be hyper speed in c2/c3. and more reliant on being very beefy with units like juno, jeanne, triana to just survive the initial hit and control you into oblivion.. a few of them even had over 50k hp. being fire a lushen would almost be suicide. hell even tiana zeiross would be potentially difficult into those. . . . but a bomb team and snipe team would both still work well assuming bombs aren't resisted. dot teams wouldn't be viable due to juno's presence.
For #1 - Ethna animation is pretty slow, but if you made C2 that's the answer :p #2 - Not sure I like Daphnis here. Should work, but feels like there'd be more reliable options #3 - Bastet and Kona are a bit redundant, and 13k cards won't go far in current arena. Might be useful in fighter, MAYBE as an occasional use in low/mid cq, but overall not too reliable #4 - Guessing you plan to do this as shield will, since you'd need a lot of crazy fast sets to speed tune. Should work, might even be pretty quick, but the Lushen would have to be tanky enough to take some hits which limits card damage. Interesting comp, but maybe over-complicating things #5 Chiwu is far more reliable than Clara, as Clara's activation rate isn't 100%. Bomber teams in general are hard to pull off with consistency unless you have Giana or Tiana. I like other options above more.

Depends on the comp you're using her in. Basically, if you're using her with a stripper (Tiana), and how much offense you gain from your other monsters. Most AOE nukers or controllers work. Verad, Beth, even Tyron, etc. work great with a stripper. Sige can output decent damage and also ignores invincibility (for Halphas). Poseidon no longer glances, etc. The main thing is to understand your comp and what it's trying to accomplish. If you're going for raw damage output, find the nuker with the highest multipliers and give it your best runes. If you need control or turn cycling, find monsters that provide that, etc. :) In many cases the monster may not be as good, but it still will fulfill its role - the same as Megan can be used in place of Bastet, with a small dropoff. Conversely, Shimitae can sort of do what Psamanthe does, but the dropoff is not "small" it's really HUGE (especially with no rageful return) and also with the only 24% speed lead, that I don't consider Psamanthe replaceable.
I am, though those are a bit further down my list at the moment. Probably at least one will be in August, though it's hard to promise exactly - these types of guide videos are by far the hardest (for me) to make, and take the most time
@@XennialGamer below c3 I made a nice fast comp now. A 316 tablo, jamire, fire hammer girl, and light chun li. I threw some speed under inability on tablo. It is fast enough to outspeed most stuff below c3 and can cleave most bruiser comps after. It's kind of fun
First of all, awesome content! I used to be a huge fan of ShreddedPuzzle as I love educational content. There is always something to learn! I just wanted to ask you how confident you are using your Leo AO on Guardian, given there is only one Atb Booster? I have him too but I am really afraid of Will runes. Also, does it make sense to run Leo with a speed lead such as Psamathe?
Heya Solji, I don't really use the Leo at all, that's why the Lushens in the video were such crap haha. I tested it out for about a month in various configurations (using Vanessa, Seara, etc.) and having my two best rage sets on the Lushens (rage/fight and rage/will). It works fine situationally - if you pick it when you're certain to outspeed the enemy team with your booster - but if you use it to try to counter tritons, it becomes heavy rng as will runes will usually beat you, as will a triton resisting, so my overall win rate with the team was about 80% against those types of teams. Throw in all of the fire defense monsters (Bellenus, Harmonia, Juno, etc.) and the team just has too few targets to justify keeping all those big rune sets where they were, so this past frr I moved the Lushens to PVE builds and Leo to a vampire build (he was triple fight for the AO tests). With that said - if I had Psamanthe, I'd probably give Lushen big rage runes again and use him a bit more. I tested various AOs with Shimitae who's sort of similar to Psamanthe and the results were bad, but Psamanthe really does a lot more (as for other speed leads - Vanessa doesn't do enough, Seara is too weak to will runes, and most 19 speed leads aren't fast enough).
Heya Luigi, it depends on the rune set, slot, and just how bad the subs are :p For example if it has spd and 3 crappy subs, I probably still roll it. If it has anything else that can be good with a quadroll, such as CR or a %age stat, I will also usually roll it. I tend to be more forgiving with 4-sets (vio/despair/etc.), as well as fight and will. But in most cases, I (personally) sell it as soon as I no longer see a path for the rune to become good, unless it is a good reapp target. Good reapp targets for me are slots 1/3 with acc, res, cr, cd, or flat stats innate, slot 4/6 hp%, slot 4 CD, slot 6 atk%, or slot 2 spd. Also if I'm especially thin in a particular rune set and slot, I might hang onto it as a desperation reapp target. I didn't mention slot 5s in there because they are the hardest to reapp. I'd generally never recommend reapping slot 5 unless you buy the reapp packs, and even then only do slot 5s after you're out of other good reapp targets. That's because the odds to reapp a good slot 5 are just as low as slots 4/6, but slot 5s are easier to farm. Also keep in mind that the runes you sell/keep should be based on your own acct and stage of game. The easiest rule: farm until you have 600 runes. After that, every time a rune drops, ask "if this rolls perfectly, can it be better than the worst of the 600 runes in my inventory?" If the answer is yes, keep it and roll it. At +3, ask the same question. And again at +6 and +9. As soon as the answer is no, sell it (that even includes if you rolled it to +12 and it turned into the worst of the 600 other runes, I sell it then too). But so long as it's an upgrade, you keep it and during a later rune cleanup you sell the runes that are now worse than it instead :)
i was thinking of building an ao soon, so nice timing with the vid. what do you think about Leo megan mephisto lushen, lushen can be slow bc of double atk bar boost and doesnt need to be that fat bc of mephisto damage (edit: mephisto will also be very good against vanessa taranys defs)
I don't have Mephisto so hard to say exactly, and it depends what rank of arena you're in. Sounds very good through fighter ranks and maybe low conqueror. The higher you get, the harder it'll be to cleave with the single lushen - but you don't have to limit yourself to just one team either. So I think this team will work at least sometimes, you just have to be sure you pick it at the right times and use different teams the other times :)
It depends on the stripper, supporting cast, and your box. For example, Clara does not have 100% activation rate, so Water Ryu is a good counter. Leo can counter Triton in some situations (but not all). The older triton/rica defenses could be countered with tetra, etc. In some cases it may also be best to simply skip the defense if you don't have the best counters.
Sometimes it's also decently fast to slow clear some defenses like speed lead triton and double controle units like jeanne and Rica since ther isn't much damage If u wanna lushen then 33 lead kabilla teon lushen with as much fight sets as u can is the way to go u can most likely one shot all speed defenses since they aren't that tanky
Yeah definitely the Kabilla is awesome if you have Psamanthe. Psamanthe isn't really replaceable there though unfortunately. Vanessa, Shimitae, other speed leads just don't offer enough in that comp to make it both fast and consistent :p
@@XennialGamer i've been using a triple fight vanessa instead of psamath it's not as gu but works Then again i summoned a psamath 3 days ago so i'll be using him now lol
My goal was to try to talk about why those monsters allowed me to counter those teams, so people could find monsters with similar skills in their box, not to demonstrate the specific monsters themselves. Pretty much no matter WHICH monsters I used, someone was not going to have them. Just like I couldn't demo Psamanthe or Zaiross (two premium arena mons) because I don't have them. But I did talk about alternatives, such as using Akia or Camaryn if you don't have Zaiross, or Megan if you don't have Bastet, etc. I have to use the monsters I have runed and speed runed or it's not much of a video. But the key is that so many monsters have overlapping skills, we need to focus on the kits and find similar ones.
BTW since the nerf, I'd say that Mina or Taor are at least as good as Barbara for AO, among other water nukers (I actually demo'd Mina later in the video), but I haven't fully re-runed and re-speed tuned everything yet.
Lol nah. That was the point I was trying to make - it doesn't need rare monsters, but because you'll face a variety of defenses, it helps to understand what those defenses do so you can choose monsters from your own box that counters them
@@XennialGamer With this event I'll finally get a lushen, what's a good fat lushen team that's farmable? Bernard/Megan (or Kona) Lushen + Damage dealer?
Hehe it's a good thing to watch guys like him, I watch some of them too! Just gotta remember that "watching" and "having his rune quality".. not always the same thing :p
Really wish you could do a video for mid game players. My fastest is bastet with plus 125 speed and rest are plus 80 max. I don't even bother with arena cuz how frustrating it is
Sadly, it seems like I missed the mark with this one :( My goal was to try to talk about why those monsters allowed me to counter those teams, so people could find monsters with similar skills in their box, not to demonstra ethe specific monsters themselves. It's tricky to do this type of video because everyone has different runes and monsters (I spent more time making this video than any other I've done, probably close to 30 hours.), and pretty much no matter WHICH monsters I used, someone was not going to have them. But the key is that so many monsters have overlapping skills, we need to focus on the kit and find similar ones. For example, Megan does everything Bastet does, just with 5% less atk bar boost and no shield (and when a cleave is done right, the shield usually doesn't matter.) Similarly, Bulldozer can ignore defenses like Odin, and actually hits harder he just doesn't resurrect, etc.
@@XennialGamer The video was great, but it is for late game players. Once I start farming runes more hard-core, I'll definitely come back to this video. It's great cuz I do have most of the monsters, just not the runes to back em up. Thanks for the response, as always lol
@@XennialGamer ya but raki can take only one reviver. mep can wipe them all in one go.i rune mine with rage. ang paired with high hp supports. since hes 2nd scales with hp absortion plus damage multiplier. scales big thou
Hehe .. interesting idea! There's very different defenses in Fighter for sure. I might make that a stream project one day, as my rune quality would be a little too strong to use in fighter
That might work, the best thing to do is test it out. I'd wait till FRR, rune them up, and experiment. The main challenge I see is that Gemini and Poseidon both have a ton of accuracy checks. You probably can't rely entirely on those two to give a slow Pungbaek a turn, which means PB has to be super fast. That's going to limit his damage. This week I've been messing around with an unskilled Lagmaron, he works a bit better than Sige. (I also tested Savannah, who was equal-but-different than Sige). The advantage of Lag is (1) He does speed scaling damage (2) He stuns, very helpful for Trianas and Mihos and (3) When Gemini gets resisted, I can target a nuke out with Lag's squall. Even so, all 3 of them (Savannah, Sige and Lag) worked nicely in that comp, and I have to assume that many other AOE monsters would work there as well. Gemini/Megan/Poseidon alone will wreck a lot of enemy teams if you speed tune and rune properly, and that fourth spot can be rotated out for whatever monster you have that best counters the enemy team (Psamanthe would be ideal, I just don't have him).
Well, first I want to say that my point was only that he's not as much of a "one-size fits all solution" as people try to make him out to be. A majority of defenses, especially Guardian+, always have Lushen cleaves in mind. He still needs the correct supporting monsters, they all need the correct runes and speed tuning, and we need to be able to recognize when to use him and when not to. As for his runes ;) ... I tested that team for about a month, and just de-runed the Lushens on the last FRR (that's why it was still in my decks). During the tests, I had my best rage/will set on the slow one, and a big rage/fight set on the faster one, along with triple fight on Leo. It was good in some situations, and certainly convenient, but it just isn't as reliable as other options that (from my own monster box) work better. What I may give up by being a little slower, I gain back by taking fewer losses and spending less time hunting for Lushen targets. So where I can consistently finish G2 and a couple of G3s using my normal style, I wound up with multiple C3 finishes trying to Lushen, and eventually the good runes got moved to where they'd be more useful. Which comes back to the original point of the video. Lushen can certainly help you take Legend in Arena with the right runes, right monster box, and skilled play - that's why I cited Foxy and Seiishizo at the start. But not everyone has that specific mix of monsters and runes to make it work, so this video was how to theorycraft from each person's own box :)
@@XennialGamer I agree there is no such thing '1 size fit all'. If there is anti lushen defense, there is also anti cleave, anti 2nd turn etc. What lushen teams bring is fast, reliable and eliminating all the RES/ACC check; what only matters is rune quality. That is why lushen is the best AO. Also at 1:47, that defense is easy lushen food. This is why I said you're not giving lushen enough love by dedicating your runes and monsters built around him. Awy I really appreciate your time and effort for making these videos.

Crazy my 315 Tiana gets outsped a fair amount even in C2 lol. Then again I take her into everything, instead of being selective
Where do I find this Arena Offense?
Sorry, which offense? :)
No. I just got confused if Arena Offense is a place :)
Throw in all of the fire defense monsters (Bellenus, Harmonia, Juno, etc.) and the team just has too few targets to justify keeping all those big rune sets where they were, so this past frr I moved the Lushens to PVE builds and Leo to a
vampire build (he was triple fight for the AO tests).
Also, thank you for the comments! :)
Informative as always sir!
Thanks Enrique! :)
Hi Professor X, just wanna ask, if you get a legend rune in dungeons with bad subs, would you keep and reapp or sell it straight away?
@@XennialGamer thank you so much this was well explained, guess i'm selling this slot 5 with the worst subs
i was thinking of building an ao soon, so nice timing with the vid. what do you think about Leo megan mephisto lushen, lushen can be slow bc of double atk bar boost and doesnt need to be that fat bc of mephisto damage (edit: mephisto will also be very good against vanessa taranys defs)
If you can't outspeed the enemy that has a stripper, how would you deal with it?
It depends on the stripper, supporting cast, and your box. For example, Clara does not have 100% activation rate, so Water Ryu is a good counter. Leo can counter Triton in some situations (but not all). The older triton/rica defenses could be countered with tetra, etc.
In some cases it may also be best to simply skip the defense if you don't have the best counters.
I guess i wont be getting out of c1 anytime soon. Typical defs in c1 always has 33 spd lead with strippers hahah
Sometimes it's also decently fast to slow clear some defenses like speed lead triton and double controle units like jeanne and Rica since ther isn't much damage
If u wanna lushen then 33 lead kabilla teon lushen with as much fight sets as u can is the way to go u can most likely one shot all speed defenses since they aren't that tanky
Yeah definitely the Kabilla is awesome if you have Psamanthe. Psamanthe isn't really replaceable there though unfortunately. Vanessa, Shimitae, other speed leads just don't offer enough in that comp to make it both fast and consistent :p
@@XennialGamer i've been using a triple fight vanessa instead of psamath it's not as gu but works
Then again i summoned a psamath 3 days ago so i'll be using him now lol
First 2 minutes talked about how we may be missing a certain key unit in ao team.
Proceeds to use odin seara barbara and bastet. hmmm
So arena needs more rare monsters than rta?
Nice video, can you do a guide on AD
Heya Andrew, I'll likely do some AD and also guild defense videos down the road a bit :)
*me watching all of foxys arena rushes*
Xennial: ik a lot of u probably watch foxy
me : 😳
Hehe it's a good thing to watch guys like him, I watch some of them too! Just gotta remember that "watching" and "having his rune quality".. not always the same thing :p
Pulling that 2nd lushen from event. Just pulled bellenus while fishing for Tiana in 700 stone summons
Whoah gzzzz Bellenus is SO STRONG!
@@thelos3999 Always! :)
i use mephisto lushen on that reviver comp. ez to counter them if you have him
WTB Mephisto... :p
But yeah he's awesome. Raki can work there too, if you're able to protect her.

Buy dailt pack
Arena defense please
Can you start from fighter level next time? If possible only sir..sorry 🙏..hehe..This video is really helpful though..tnx sir..
Hehe .. interesting idea! There's very different defenses in Fighter for sure. I might make that a stream project one day, as my rune quality would be a little too strong to use in fighter
Also don't say "sorry" I always appreciate any feedback and suggestions!!!! :)
Wow that's awesome 👍..pls kindly do..hehe..I would appreciate it deeply..
Could i use a team like Gemini(L) Megan Pungbaek Poseidon?
Not ignore def
My lushen not ready yet >_-
Aww.. I hope he is soon!!!

@@XennialGamer gz :)
@@tissueboi Thanks :)
well honestly you need to put GOOD runes on lushen and use him more often before making any comment about him.
Awy I really appreciate your time and effort for making these videos.
day 1 of asking XG to finally upload an onyx video (btw got iris yesterday so iris video would be nice too)
