@TruthSurge: You certainly did an awesome job. Loved it. By the way, I did this cover too. However, I did it a little bit in my style. th-cam.com/video/VWntJzxM1o8/w-d-xo.html
This video has been up for two years and I just found it today. That makes me sad. Outstanding amazing job I have chills listening to you. Take a bow sir that was a treat
Damn...you are freaking great!!!! Shocked this doesn’t have more views...you have beautiful voice Sir! Thank you for covering one of my favorite songs!
Brother, I'm a lead vocalist in a couple well known cover bands and you are just killin it bud! great job! The 1st tune I heard you sing was Dio/Rainbow In The Dark and I was like HELL YEAH! Awesome bud! I learned this tune on acoustic guitar today so that's why this video popped up in my TH-cam feed. Although I am subscribed. Keep on rockin buddy! \m/ ~Glen
I congratulate you, I love your voice and the songs you sing, even though you are on the other side of your country, I enjoy all your music, you are top. I listen to your songs in my leisure time. Hugs from friend Pablo.
I was not too sure how this one would go after the first few words as the volume was a lil lower than on the album but you rounded up all th right ingredients. Pearl of a song, pearl of an original singer and pearl of a cover. This is a classic example of an era where melody had more value than sheer agressivitg and shock value. I find it really cool that guys from bands like metal church and flotsam and jetsam can't stand a lot of the new heavy stuff. They are ol school and melodic singing is a non negotiable item for them. Keep doing it my friend. You have a feel for those great songs and you do them well.
WOW ! I had no idea that anyone else remembered this song. I wore out the cassette playing this song over and over. Very nicely done... even without the cowbell :-)
Joe Lynn Turner is hard to copy decently at all!! I think you did a good job and sounded a lot like him but different. That’s a hard song. And don’t you hate it when your health and age makes the voice so untrustworthy? I’ve lost whole keys I can’t sing in anymore it seems, then one day hallelujah yes, I hit my notes and the next day, nope!! That’s why I’m afraid to even sing anymore where anyone can hear, lol!! But you hit ‘em all!!
I found your videos a couple days ago and I have to say I'm super impressed my friend. Its refreshing to watch someone our age sing like were in our youth still. Well they bring me back to mine and I want to thank you for that.
Would love to hear you do my favorite Joe Lynn Turner Rainbow song, Can't Let You Go. Joe has such great operatic vocals/ vocal gymnastics on that song.
thx. Yeah, Joe was a really good singer, imo. Dio gripes that Rainbow went pop but hey, it was still some decent tunes but yeah, not every band is going to do dark metal.
Dude. Im sorry to hear about your health issue in the description. I havent heard this song in forever and your voice does it GREAT justice. Congratulations! I hope you are better!
uh, nope. SEVERAL takes, TONS of editing. But what I do is take the filmed take and then work from that to build a composite take by taking snips of old takes and resinging parts. So, this is not live but I did sing it. I do sing it all the way through but usually I flub one or two things and I am fixing little things later and it's tough cuz you can't fudge the timing much or the vid will not sync with the audio. thanks!!!! you too!
Wow! Another great classic. You have very good taste sir. I liked Joe Lynn Turner with rainbow but dio was the greatest with rainbow. Very good job. Keep on rocking 🙂
Great job on this one. The tone of your voice really suits the song. I’m guessing you could “ace” any song sung by Joe Lynn Turner. Two 👍👍 to this effort. Bravo 👏
thanks bu noooooo. Joe is so good and his range is amazing. I'm pitching my voice up and still struggling to hit that high note in here. But I just wanted to try it.
Oh my !!! What a powerful voice, you cover every rock singer out there, you are so amazing, how old are you Mr. Surge? your voice is so strong, that of a young man. love you and don't stop singing.....
yeah, I improved toward the end. I have some weird singing (bad) habits I notice from all this singing. I have psych hangups on hitting certain notes of a key from a slide. not knowing proper way to slide to a note, singing too choppy as if every syllable needs a push of new air, etc. If I could get rid of all that and open my mouth more.. . I'd be better. :) thanks!!!
Would be interesting to hear your version from some songs, that Rainbow did with Graham Bonnet for the 1979 album Down To Earth. That guy was a vocal monster, especially on tracks like Eyes Of The World and Makin' Love. I like JLT-era stuff too, but I would think that Bonnet's vocal style would suit to you as well.
I tried one Bonnett tune. I was hospitalized for a week. j/k I did sing Island In The Sun. That was hard as FUUUUUUU! I pitched the song lower as I do with most of these rock songs and still I struggled. His range was crazy and he just belted that crap out.
Okay, well better keep away from that stuff then hahaha. But as for JLT-era, there's great stuff too, he is a bit underrated guy too. He was in very good shape during Bend Out Of Shape-album, had developed this grittyness to his voice.
By the way, I sang the harmony parts, too. No vocals are in the backing track.
TruthSurge : sounds really good...!!! 🎤🎤🎤
@@gregrhodes6802 thx!
You are amazing. Love all the songs and you do them beautifully. I love your voice!!!!
Awesome talent! Sub'd!
@TruthSurge: You certainly did an awesome job. Loved it.
By the way, I did this cover too. However, I did it a little bit in my style.

I congratulate you, I love your voice and the songs you sing, even though you are on the other side of your country, I enjoy all your music, you are top. I listen to your songs in my leisure time. Hugs from friend Pablo.

I’d give half my fingers and all my firewood to be able to cover this.
Wow, you are very good . I love Rainbow.
This is my favorite video of yours. You really nailed this one! Thanks.
thx
WOW ! I had no idea that anyone else remembered this song. I wore out the cassette playing this song over and over. Very nicely done... even without the cowbell :-)

Never though seeing (and hearing) Joulupukki do this song.
Sounds good though ;)
Keep it up, man!
Honestly, just as good as Joe Lyn Turner and that is saying a lot!!!! Amazing.
Hello from Ohio... Don't be so hard on yourself, you are so awesome, keep up the good work.
I think it would be awesome to have an older gentleman sing lead vocals in my band. No concerns of lead singer disease!!!!
Damn you rock dude. This was just as good As the original. I listen to your version instead sometimes haha
Very good! I am Brazilian! I loved your voice! Won another subscriber;)
I found your videos a couple days ago and I have to say I'm super impressed my friend. Its refreshing to watch someone our age sing like were in our youth still. Well they bring me back to mine and I want to thank you for that.

thanks bu noooooo. Joe is so good and his range is amazing. I'm pitching my voice up and still struggling to hit that high note in here. But I just wanted to try it.

Please do my favorite Rainbow/Dio song Tarot Woman! Thanks!
Good job man!!, rock máster!!... claps from Spain.
Very well done! I really liked it toward the end.
yeah, I improved toward the end. I have some weird singing (bad) habits I notice from all this singing. Very well done bro!
forgot to add; EPIC BEARD, man!
Wow! I'd like to hear him sing some Foreigner .
