After watching several of your videos about streamers, I finally dug out an old 6wt and put together a streamer rig. Armed with a few sculpzillas I gave it a try this summer. It took me a while, but after some messing around I finally hooked onto a few monsters. It is a lot of fun for sure. I don't do it often, but I now keep my streamer rod in the truck whenever I go out just in case nothing else is working. Thanks for all the tips!
Great video that gives enough detail for folks to set up their rig, pick and fly and try a couple of the suggested techniques. That alone makes it seem doable. Thanks for sharing your knowledge
I’m like you, I love streamers more than nymph fishing. The strikes are unbelievable sometimes. One mistake I keep making after a strike is not strip setting the hook. I get too excited and lift the rod, and miss many. I’ve been using a 5wt. , but I’m going to try the three weight next time. Thanks .
I fished with streamers for the first time last month. I was not ready for the strike I got. It was a fighter and while bringing it in I lost the fish and my streamer. But I had a blast! Do you mainly fish streamers in fall and spring? Or anytime? Thanks for the video!
I fish with streamers year-round - they are especially effective in the spring and fall months, but will work through all seasons. Thank you for watching! Cheers
I find it absurd that you'd be so upset over my suggestion to support a family-owned company where one might purchase flies-advice freely given. I'm grateful for the wonderful people on my channel; they outshine individuals like you. Cheers and FISH-ON!!
"The tug is the drug" #streamerfishing. Me... it's my least favorite of the big three presentations - but sometimes it's what they want. I definitely did NOT catch double digits nymphing today, as there are still no fish here. ☮ from North Idaho.

Orvis battenkill reels have the juice!

It's a blast for sure and even more fun on the 3wt!
Great tips. I’m trying to work on my streamer skills.
I know I have room for improvement
Thanks!
You bet! So much fun once you build confidence around it - you got this Matt!
I've thrown a #10 bugger on a #1 before 😅
Is there an advantage to a Duncan Loop vs a non-slip loop knot? I use non-slip loop knots all the time but have never tried a Duncan loop.
No advantage really, just preference

How's the Yakima right now?
Cold...but fishing well
Code doesn’t work. I tried FFD both in all caps and all lower case and it wouldn’t work. Bought some flies anyway.
Everything’s an ad with you buddy

So he’s just supposed to give you all his years of expertise and hours of his time for free on your terms?

The tug is definitely the drug!
