    All Denalis have the electronic "Autoride" suspension. The electrical connector on the top of these shocks, (front and rear) connects to a computer that adjusts the shocks on the fly as you drive. You put the wrong type of shock in there so now you get the "service ride control" message. To get rid of the message, you need to splice in a resistor available online to fool the computer into thinking you have the correct shocks. The truck may ride better than with the old worn out shocks, but will never ride as well as with the factory AC Delco or Monroe electronic equivalents. The truck suspension was designed with the computer controlled units in mind. The price of the factory units used to be over $600 a piece and dealer only. They have come down to $300 which is about the same price as the Monroe electronic replacements. My 2005 Denali with 138k on it, had the Arnott Industries bypass units front and rear as well as a newer Arnott compressor for the rear self leveling air shocks. So this truck had the system bypassed already. I replaced the units with the proper AC Delco units and the ride and handling was like night and day. No more rolling and diving. You could tell the ride changed as you drove over different terrain as well. Also, stay with the stock size tires and rims as the suspension will feel too stiff if you upsize to thinner tires. Most vehicles are a compromise between a soft cushy ride and bad handling or a stiff ride with better handling and load capability. The Denali suspension is the best of both because it adjusts automatically. The self leveling combination electronic AND air shocks in the rear will adjust the vehicle to stay level all the time no matter how much load you carry or pull. A fully functional system uses electronic signals from sensors like the brakes, steering, speed, ride height sensors, temp, and even a yaw sensor. It then gives you the best ride based on conditions automatically. There is plenty of videos and articles about this system. Now that the prices have come down a lot, I would not bypass the system unless you are on a budget for owning a $45k vehicle.

    I'm having a hard time compressing the bushings as well, how long did it take you to compress them to expose the threaded shaft to plug in the sensor?

    • @diversity2739
      @diversity2739  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I decompressed it, just enough to fit, then tied the wire that came with it back on. but not in the bolt hole. then set the bottom in first put the bolt in, then lined up the top and released the wire and it went right on place.

    You do not pull on them, they are electronic connector for the autoride system and they need to be unscrewed, now you need probably to get new ones. You cannot use regular shocks on the Denali as the front are magnetic shocks and work with the Air ride system. Didn't you notice they are pretty light weight compared to any other shocks? Did you know as well, that all the Air ride system work in unison with the rest of the car, throttle positioning, throttle body, transmission, Suspension, electronics, now you probably wont be able to drive faster then 80 Miles per hour as the system locks the speed as a safety.
