- Geely's luxury EV Zeekr soared in its IPO in US markets, far exceeding the top end of the range underwriters expected.
Geely is a Chinese holding company of some of the world's top car brands, including Volvo. Last month, their Volvo subsidiary in the US announced that they would import Chinese-built EV's into the US. Zeekr is a premium electric vehicle, comparable to luxury models. If Geely can perform similar magic with Zeekr and bring these vehicles to overseas markets, it will perhaps make Geely the most profitable automaker in the world.

The Zeeker 001 or 007 blows Tesla out of the water. You have to see the cars with your own eyes as I have a few weeks ago. High end Chinese EVs makes German cars look ordinary. Their quality and finish are overcapacity.
and the Xiami SU7 . . . Porsche performance with a Camry price tag.
WOW! That is overcapacity tt Yellen was talking about! The US copped out of competition, when faced with a true competitor. I hv no hope for my country.
Thank you. I'm going to test drive Zeeker which was not on my radar. I have a Tesla in the States, but for my second home here in PH, I'm free to get what I want 😂
Achei o interior do 007 bom mas não extraordinario
I am laughing; 'Their quality and finish are overcapacity.' Is this a new phrase in english?
If you put a Toyota beside a Zeekr EV, you would think the grandkid is visiting the grandparent in a retirement home.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Toyota = FAIL
@@craigslistseller9354 THey invented Prius darling of Eco Enthusiast. But couldn’t keep up ! A vehicle ahead of its time. And still it’s a good Vehicle futuristic. Looking machine back then. Almost two decades or more. !!!

GO ZEEKR / GEELY!!!
Zeekr does make excellent cars. I'd definitely buy a Zeekr here if I could afford it.
until a few weeks ago i hadnt realised James Bonds preferred marque the Aston Martin was Chinese owned!!!
i only thought Lotus!!!? Thats huge!! when did Aston Martin happen??? Who owns Jaguar??? So Chinese own Aston, Lotus and MG Rover, polestar and Volvo!!?
what i wouldnt give to see an updated Grand Tour return to China with Jezza, May, Hammond... driving Chinese EVs as well as having their mind blown driving Chinese owned British marques on new Chinese infrastructure again!!!
With Jezza turning to the camera and saying ''I was right, told you so!''
The new Lotus Eletre is a truly dream car.
That's a v noice car.@@Zerpentsa6598
Tata Group of India owns Jaguar!
Thanks to the end of the British empire and its captive market for British cars and bikes, the whole industry came crashing down after the World War II, and the steaming remnants of it were scattered by Thatcher, who is praised by conservatives for "saving" Britain, when all that she actually did was presiding over the destruction of the bases of British industrial economy; which, in the end, resulted in further diminishment of Britain in the international scene. When you compare what Britain was 100 years ago and what it is now, it's shocking how the former empire was upheaved.
I can't even name any relevant British company that's not a bank or British Petroleum. What does Britain even manufacture any more? How will they keep their proud standards of living when they have no "brick and mortar" economy left?
Geely really made a long march within the auto-making industries.
This brand existed in China since the 1980s and it was making small and cheap combustion engine cars that's was affordable for even the poor rural areas in China.
Now it is making some of the top EVs in the most competitive market in world.
Be good 🙏
I remember in the 70s, the American perception of Japan and Japanese products was not high, even though their cameras and hi-fi equipment were already very high calibre. The perception was totally modified (almost overnight) when Lexus was introduced.
The American culture is a car culture. If you can serve them good cars, they will be impressed.
I predict their perception of China will take the same course.
No. The sinophobia and hate and racism is thru the roof to the moon. No. To mars.

... And Trump imposed tariffs on everything and kidnapped the CFO of Huawei via Canada and kept her under house arrest for more than a thousand days, and Biden adds more tariffs and tightens further sanctions.
A real world example of the idea of prosper together.
I wish Geely/Zeekr well. I particularly like its cooperation with Nio and its battery swapping technology. Battery swapping works better than plug-in charging in my opinion.
Oslo, Norway - June 27, 2023 -- XPENG G9 broke the NAF historical record by reaching a peak charging power of 319 kW. It also achieved an average charging power of 212 kW - the highest in NAF's history. G9 was also the fastest to reach a range of 200 kilometres, using only 8.4 minutes, according to NAF's calculation
i dont see the need for swaps.
also news 2022 - An ultrafast charging station for electric vehicles (EV), which can charge 20 cars all at once and add over 200 kilometers of battery life to the cars within eight minutes, started operation on Monday in southeast China's Ningde City, Fujian Province, China Media Group reported.
At the end of September, the number of new energy vehicles in China reached 11.49 million, accounting for about half of the world's total,
Sat in my friend's Zeeker van... amazing. Its like one of those cars from the MTV show " Pimp My Ride"
"So so want to be a playa but your wheels ain't fly, hit China up for a pimp out ride"
Very risky. US can change the rules at any time. Exciting though like gambling at the casino.
United Snakes changes the rules, ultimately will backfire on United Snakes ....
NIO 😃✌️
Austin Martin is now owned by Chinese company?
James Bond is on Xi's pay roll as well XDDD comes with the car!!! Interesting dilemma!!!! Wonder how James Bond and Aston Martin and the British is marketed now!!!??? Heck they cant even do Lotus!!! And for sure I cant see them do Maclaren lol!!!
@@antwangoNo even MG. Land rover is pants, so no point. Jaguar is even worse.
Chinese EVs will be the KING.
So, of all the Chinese cities you've visited, which one do you like the most? You seem to be reporting from so many locations.

Geely owns Aston Martin, too?
No, just a major shareholder around 20%, also Mercedes Benz largest single shareholder around 10%.
Thanks!
Don’t buy ZK til to goes thru it’s first correction. This IPO like many US IPOs can fall thru the floor shortly after the IPO date. It’s just what IPOs are know for.
Can you do a personal review of ev made in China . Lot of conflicting info out here
1:38 well right now that’s not important.
Listen, I mean, it's all great and all-whatever this topic was-but did you manage to smash some cherries (90/60/90) up there? Those are provincial flags. No problems. 🎉
Besides Macao and hk, there are many "Autonomous regions" inside of China where minorites (56 minorities) govern themselves, as long as the region stays part of the China. When Taiwan reunites with China, the same.

Your parents said the same when you were born..
But you do. That's why you clicked on this video, and even care enough to wrote a comment about it.
It's disgusting people actually waste money on something as stupid as an EV. Did they not have toys as kids? It can't be an investment! It is an outright loss!
Zeekr's current ADR price is about $27, which is close to its lowest of $25 plus since listing. Nothing spectacular given the 100 per cent US tariffs just announced.
