The companies who employ these people are ultimately to blame, because they do virtually no training of their staff. I've never seen any evidence of them doing any training. It's like "wear a high vis, and get on with it."
Next time they threaten to shoot down the drone you should inform them that discharging a firearm on private property where the projectile might leave the private property is illegal under the firearms act and carries a heavy penalty. This not only covers firearms but also air rifles.
He should probably inform them that he isn't allowed to film private property from a drone first, and then move on. The police are well within their rights to confiscate the drone if he films private property without consent, and hopefully they soon will.

Police permissions are also included in the CAA guidance. It does seem that officers have chosen to not take action until now which I can only imagine is due to lack of training around drones and privacy. So no, it's actually totally correct.
I don't think he would be allowed to have a gun on site so I've contacted Humberside Police firearms team to ask them if this business is licensed to use guns and store them on that site. I think he'll be getting a visit from the firearms team soon as they tend to take such matters seriously.

as this is a video made for commercial reasons and filming workers you do need consent to share this video , you are breaking gdpr ,further to this they are laws expectations of privacy at the workplace (harassment ) , moreso owner of the yard has valid concerns over you using the drone and sharing images of his yard , your drone is disrupting the working operating of the workplace and the caa guidelines strongly advise against such "flight" ...the common sense approach would have been to listen to his reasonable concerns then move on ...the company need to research gdpr law and commercial videos made for entertainment
