      @@topcat1358 They're obviously quite junior and lacking knowledge re this legislation (probably not their fault as they can't possibly know EVERYTHING) but looks like they had the best of intentions. They had to de-escalate a situation and keep the peace while struggling to find any legislation to help them do so and clearly they were more than happy when DJE offered to leave and thus de-escalate the situation. These aren't bad cops, they're good cops in the making imo. They just need experience and time will no doubt give them that.

    Suspicion is opinion without evidence.
    The Police have been shown yet again to be kids, with very little, if any understanding of the law and behave as utter nob ends. The factory owners are just as ignorant and seem to have a sense of entitlement too.
    A complete lack of respect for the rights of others.
    Had you walked away, you would have been detained and I am sure a civil claim would likely have then been made against the Chief Constable of these hapless police officers, who clearly have little knowledge of the law, but big egos.

    If the building is sensitive it is up to them to secure it. Why haven’t they got a manned gate? It isn’t a government building , it’s a private business that obtains government contracts. It took so long because they’ve tried and tried to find something , anything at all to press charges.
