Dude you make so many excellent props. God they are all just so fantastic!! Like to see you make Jesse McCree's revolver or Solider 76's :)
Plese make the mandalorian rifle I will like it so much
@Ian Hopkins Thanks so much!
I hope some day to meet you at a comic con of sorts to ask you so many questions about your props and skills :)
I hate to be a bad news Bear. But I think your shop website is broken. Have been trying and trying and keep getting 504 error. Have tried home wifi, work internet, cell phone data, ECT (so I know its not just a my connection thing)
Holy cow, that green LED addition was a sharp turn I wasn't expecting. Way to up the level of complexity bro :D
OH! and then you went and remade the handle in wood!! haha very very nice but way above my pay grade :D
You know I can't make it *too* easy for myself! HA! =)
Love the out takes
We have a lot of fun :)
For me it's the Mass Effect 3 m-15 Vindicator rifle, besides being my favorite weapon to play with I just love the model.
Been putting off prop making for the past 3 years and counting, once I got a proper workshop I'll start with that one, and full N7 armor to complement it :D
Heck yeah!
I dont use kits or anything but my dream thing to make from scratch would probably be the berserker armor or something like that maybe dragon slayer (the timing would be great as of this moment to make something like that)
Ooh yeah, great choices!
Build idea: Jafar's Staff from Aladdin. Maybe light up the eyes with LEDs?
That's a fun idea!
My dream prop kit would definitely be Iron Man’s Infinity Gauntlet
Right on!
I want a life sized wearable nuka cola t-45 power armor prop kit
That... is... AWESOME.
thanks for the reply i think it would be possible if you worked with the hacksmith
m56 smartgun aliens dream prop
Nice
A small detail from a revolver shooter: on the cylinder the "T" shaped indents are where the cylinder locks into the frame. Cylinders develop a polished band from rotating against the spring loaded pin in the frame. Just one of those little extra realism details. Thank you for making such fantastically entertaining content!
That's a really great bit of detail, thanks for sharing! =)
That magnet switch is the perfect answer for a prop I'm building! Thanks Bill!
Hey that's great!
This video was worth the wait, everything on this turned out amazing! It's wild what just one weathering pass like that can do. Thanks for sharing this with us, can't wait to see what's next.
(The mystery of the lighted bullets is solved too; That approach to use the magnets to complete the circuit is super-clever.)
Thanks so much! =)
From the squeeks it sounds like you need to lube up the bungholer....
Because everyone knows that bungholes need lube.
Proper bungholer care is important!
Volpin Props is making TWO more of these incredible kits available, don't miss out on getting yours! facebook.com/112981562055210/posts/3158265694193433/?d=n
My dream kit would be the droid blaster from star wars, the E-5 I think it's called.
That's really fantastic. =)
Is there a Stormtrooper rifle kit??
My favorite prop are the time circuits from Back to the Future, I hope to build them some day! Thanks for the great video!
Oh yeah that would be a super fun build!
@@punishedprops On my TH-cam channel I work on electronics for beginners and I hope I will be able to tackle that project soon :)
It should be Helvetespojken - Samariten ;P
That weathering pass is so satisfying to watch
It's always one of the most fun parts of a build.
Fantastic build! Loved the whole section with the LEDs as I used to prototype LED pieces for a miniature rpg terrain company. One of the prototypes I originally created involved soldering wires to tiny neodymium magnets just like you have and discovered the same issue with demagnetizing due to heat. We eventually went with a socket system. One of the little tricks I used with ensuring magnets were aligned properly afterward is to use a marker to mark the faces that connected.
Thanks for the tips Joshua!
My Dream kit personally is a full size proton pack with lights and sound. I would kill for that.
I'm here to tell you that it's worth all the work that goes into making one.
Punished Props is the only reason I look forward to Monday mornings
I'm glad we can bring some joy to the start of your week. =)
Wow, this is a straight up Master Class on how to make an amazing prop replica; electronics, wood carving, pro painting and more. So great Bill, thank you for what you do!
You're very welcome Brian! =)
Okay I wish IKEA really had kits like this
I know, right?
@@punishedprops can i pls get the Design 🙂
I thought it was McCree’s pistol for a bit 😅
Oh boy, Hellboy vs McCree would be quite a showdown!
I love the light system you made for the bullets. To make it easier to get the magnets slightly protruding to make contact, model in a slight standoff in the discs to keep the magnets above the surface. You can sand the standoffs down once the magnets are set. Also could round them a little and put an indentation in the opposite plate to give them a mechanical key along with the magnetic fit. Another option would be to have the top contacts spring fit and just the 2 magnets to hold the plate down.
All great ideas, thanks for sharing!
CODE PROP!!! WE GOT A CODE PROP!!! this is not a drill boys! new vid from punished props
Woohoo! =)
Quick question: how does the barrel look like? In the one shot it looked a bit plasticky, and I remembered from one of Adam Savage's videos that he sometimes inserts a bronze or copper tube to make it look more realistic :) Wonderful work, Bill & Britt, as always!
FriendlyWire watch Odinmakes he also made it and if you look on this site it has blueprints;
propstoreauction.com/view-auctions/catalog/id/10/lot/1372/HELLBOY-2004-Hellboy-s-Ron-Perlman-Good-Samaritan-Pistol-Bullets-amp-Design-Prints
The inside of the barrel on this kit is really amazing. It has a spiral rifling pattern molded into the plastic. I don't think we got a great shot of it in the video, but it's really neat.
@@punishedprops Ohhh, that's great! So much attention to detail :-)
Punished Props Academy hey Bill isn’t the medallion on the handle for the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense insignia/crest craved on the handle?
Hi Bill next time you are working with Padauk you should wear some kind of breathing protection. Padauk dust is worse than other common woods at producing an allergic reaction.
That's great to know, thanks so much!
Awesome job! One of my favorites. Just a helpful tip from a woodworker, the next time you make a sword/knife/handgun grip, you might find that if you cut the wood so that the grain runs vertically (aka along the length of the grip) instead of horizontally you might find that it is more esthetically pleasing (but also stronger if it were a real firearm/weapon). Thanks for the vid,
Thanks for the tip!
Thanks for the heads up! =)
Yay! Bill's back!
My dream prop is pretty obscure. It's a time machine key from a 1979 movie called Time After Time.
That * is* obscure! I've never heard of it. Pretty neat though. =)
I came over to watch this per recommendation from Adam Savage on his Samaritan build part 3 video.
Hey thanks so much for watching!
My dream kit/prop to make would be the Rocketeer’s jet pack. It’s also my dream cosplay. But geez, that jet pack alone you need big bucks
Oh wow yeah. That one is an absolute classic.
could you do a commotion prop of thelumite mining cell from creativerse for me and a video of it please
Thanks for letting us know you're interested in that build! We have our current schedule worked out, but there could be room for this kind of video in future plans.
I checked my local IKEA but they were sold out of this kit lol
My dream kit is a Flux Capacitor from BTTF for sure
I made one a few years ago, not to scale, but its close enough for me
HA! You'll probably build a whole fleet of Flux Capacitors by the time you're done. It's the prop makers curse.
To not risk demagnetizing, you could use some electrically conductive glue to attach the wires to the magnets, I would still use solder for the other connections though
Great idea! I need to get some of that glue.
@@punishedprops Silver Epoxy Adhesive works great, can be pricy mind you. I work within the space industry and use that stuff all the time
As a birthday request for February, should add to the hellboy theme build functioning right hand of doom
Thanks for letting us know you're interested in that build! We have our current schedule worked out, but there could be room for this kind of video in future plans.
This is my dream prop, no more no less. You did a wonderful job on that painting, and that wood grip is gorgeous!
Thanks so much!
@@punishedprops Thanks to you guys, all your work and great videos are a well of inspiration and ideas!
I am so glad Bob from I like to make stuff reminded me about you guys. I was subscribed on my old account and then forgot to resubscribe after I switched to this one. Now I can catch all the amazing prop content again.
Honestly, this is my dream movie prop, too. The design is so clean and slick and fits perfectly in the universe it was made for. This prop is probably second, if not tied, with making my own lightsaber.
IKEA's Hjelboe Sömratten??? LOL! That's probably what it would've been called too, hahaha!
I would love sting from the hoobbit as a prop kit
It's such a cool sword. I got to see some of the prototype pieces of the original prop when I visited Weta Workshop. Absolutely wonderful craftsmanship from Peter Lyon.
Flux would make your life so much easier for soldering. Try getting a tube of MG Chemicals stuff.
Not long done printing out the Mandalorian Rifle, Blaster and Knife; as well as the Blade Runner Deckard's Blaster (my dream kit). Four more items added to my "Really must paint and weather these" pile. I'll get around to Blade Runner 2049 K's Blaster at some point too, but I'm torn as to doing Luv's Blaster also.
Fallout 3/New Vegas Pip Boy 3000. That or the New Vegas Anti-Material rifle
They still haven’t ruined Hellboy for me.
They ruined Abe, but not Hellboy. 😢
(I’m not watching the last Hellboy).
It makes me cry to see the grain direction going the wrong way on the grip. 😢 But the rest of the build is awesome!
The 3D modeler in me is just like "well let's just rotate that texture 90 degrees..." Ahh, not so easy to do on the real thing. =)
@punishedProps I think it's more of a structural concern. Not an issue on real guns because the grips have metal inside. On this one, I was afraid you were gonna snap the mating section of the grip off.
Luke’s lightsaber from rotj
I made a lightsaber out of washers when I was 16 that was *kinda* modeled after Luke's green lightsaber. It's just so good. =)
Awesome!! Thank you for the response!
You are the best
Hey Punished Props, great video. I'm making a full Mandalorian cosplay and was wondering, what would be a strong glue to keep straps on the foam permanently?
Andrew dft has a tutorial on that, look for one of his odst cosplay video.
But is basically cut a notch in the foam, use hot glue to attach the strap, and then glue on top the foam that you cut before.
Good luck
Hey Hendrick! We did a video covering that exact topic. Enjoy! th-cam.com/video/8_qxMULsR1c/w-d-xo.html
@@punishedprops Thank you!
I’ve always wanted a functional . But in a 12g version . I think that’s about all my wrist can take .
DOOM armor
Oooh nice!
I had paint stripping from the base colour to the plastic with my Warhammer Minis I run a Winter theme on em so pants and helmets are white, And I use a oil based weathering colour so I go in with thinner to remove most of the oil colour and I see the bear plastic starts showing up on the helmet... I was using a base colour that was new to me lucky I can still use it on my tanks cuz I do not weather em the same way.
Anyone know what the dimensions are, full length, barrel length etc?
Nice!
I've always wanted to make frostmourne
Frostmourne is way up there for me too. So iconic.
I appreciate the artistic expression involved with prop and movie making, but it's really off-putting when someone who obviously has no idea how guns work designs a revolver with a cylinder that doesn't actually surround the ammunition. If that was real, it would just explode. No cartridge case is designed to withstand the pressure of the detonation by itself.
PLEASE MAKE A GATLING LASER FROM FALLOUT 4
Thanks for letting us know you're interested in that build! We have our current schedule worked out, but there could be room for this kind of video in future plans.
My dream "prop kit" would be a bit difficult for me to acquire since it would be the back to the future delorean
Dream arsenal: fully authentic replicas of the prop DL44, Deckard, and Mal's blasters. They'd be a hoot at the range.
That's an epic trio!
Dream prop: e-11 blaster rifle
Ah yes, a classic!
Whoever's idea it was for the ikea instruction manual, I love you
well done, fyi, there are flat top wide angle LEDs, just in case..
Cool! One thing to be aware of is it doesn't look like the solder actually wet on the magnet which means it's not adhered very well and the joint will likely fail over time. Cleaning the surface of the magnet and using a good quality soldering flux will help with that issue.
Yeah I ended up tinkering with them a lot off camera to make sure the joint was good and solid. It took a lot of trial and error.
@@punishedprops soldering is an art.
As a swede..the fake ikea name hurts me.... Nothing of that sounds like what its supposed to sound like
Clamped a 1-2-3 block in steel vice jaws. Ouch!
What is the contraption you use at 4:40? Is that DIY or can I buy it somewhere?
They're often referred to as "helping hands" and there are a million variants out there. I have a tiny one with two hands and a magnifier that I got for like ten bucks on sale and it's wonderful; you can see Bill's is much more complex but probably also has a lot more versatility than mine does. Search for "solder helping hands" or something similar and you'll find lots of options.
Spot on! I have a custom soldering work station that I built - there's a link in the video (see top right corner) :)
Dude that LED housing is so badass
Thanks! I'm super stoked with how it turned out
BD-1 from Jedi fallen order.
An instant classic!
Where I can buy/download that shell file?
Hellboy stuff!!! *fangirl squeals* I really want one of these but I don’t have the $400 to buy a kit.
Right?! =D
Realy nice work! Do you sell the 3 D print files for the inner bullet parts?
Sand the magnets first. Makes soldering them much easier.
You look like French comedian Vincent Desagnat a bit
halo 3 master chief suit, been wanting to build one since it came out 14 years ago
My dream prop is the right hand of doom from the 2 hellboy films
That's a great choice!
Punished Props Academy I'm making a comic book version of the Samaritan gun from hellboy any advice
That's why its gonna take YOU forever to hit 1M
when was the last time you shouted AAAAALVIIIIN
Dream prop build is the bladerunner deckard blaster kit
Quick question when you use the clear coat gloss do u use it immediately after the paint dries or wait weaks and the spray it on
I wait until the paint is dry, usually a few hours. You can wait a full 24 hours if you're not sure, but different paints have different drying times and usually have instructions for how long to wait before applying clear coat.
@@punishedprops thanks for the help you're the best
This looks really cool! Wood handle is a great touch (padauk is one of my favorites) and the light-up bullets are fantastic. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Seth!
I want the trollhunters amulet with the fork and knife to spin and glow.
Very nice kit, very nice build! :)
So much fun!
Anekins lightsaber
Ah yes, a classic!
I would love an Omni (The time traveling watch) from the TV show Voyagers. Someone online used to make a real metal functioning one, but I could never afford it. I did buy a kit that was cast from that original metal replica on eBay years ago, but it is not the best of molds and it rather thin in spots. So, it just sits in my garage in a box on my work bench. I would love to find a metal replica or a better kit and build my own.
That's a really cool prop!
Dream prop to have and build? The Aegis swords of Pyra (Homura) and Mythra (Hikari) from the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (Xenoblade 2) game.
Excellent choices!
It looks so cool! That weathering always just makes it all come together. *chef's kiss*
Yeah it's that wonderful last touch that really seals the deal.
Hmm... My dream prop would probably be Seras Victoria's Harkonnan Rifle from Hellsing Ultimate / Hellsing Abridged, or maybe Nora Valkyrie's sledgehammer / grenade launcher, Magnhild, from RWBY. I might like large weapons, can ya tell?
(Current projects in the works: Pyrrha Nikos' shield, Akoúo̱, also from RWBY, Samhain's orange onesie from Trick R Treat, and Seras Victoria's uniform jacket.)
All fantastic builds!
My list of props is HUGE! I know that most people don't call vehicles, robots and droids props - but I do! So let me start with huey dewey and louie from Silent Running. The police car and Harrison Fords Gun from Blade Runner. Space 1999 Eagles and Stun/Kill Hand Gun (blaster). Original Star Trek Phasers, Medical and Science Tricorders and Communicators. Han Solo's DL-44 Blaster, Darth Vader's Helmets, Princess Leia's Defender Blaster (original Star Wars) and R2-D2 from Star Wars. Robbie the Robot from Forbidden Planet. 2001: A Space Odyssey EVA Pod, The Flying Sub from Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. The Rocket Pack and Helmet from The Rocketeer and also the Full Costume (including the gun) from Commando Cody - Sky Marshal of the Universe. And the list goes on and on!! I love this stuff!!!
Such a good list!
One of my favourite movie props would be the 3 round burst pistol from the original RoboCop (1980's I think). Love RoboCop by far my favourite all time character (more so than Dredd, Iron Man, Superman, Malcolm Reynolds, combined).
That's awesome!
Thanks much, Bill! I picked up a Good Samaritan from Volpin, and followed your guide. It looks freaking awesome! But I couldn't get the casings right for LEDs. Thanks again. Love your work!
That's awesome! Thanks so much for watching :)
"Volpin Props has a book on painting, you should-"
Already there.
Woohoo!
Idea: Conan's father's shattered sword. For enemy-crushing, driving, and various gender-inclusive lamentations.
HA! Perfect. =)
The Nordic Assault bow first choice then maybe the Dawnbreaker from skyrim with glowing parts..
Oh geez, I have so many things from Skyrim that I still want to make.
Lunas Howl from destiny 2. That would be my dream kit...actually any gun from destiny would be hella cool😂
They're all amazing, aren't they?
I have lots of dream kits. Skywalker ANH saber, Infinity Gauntlet, the Stark nano gauntlet, Mark 80 battle-damaged Iron Man suit, any batsuit, Raiders Ark of the Covenant
All great ideas!
My dream prop kit would be the Ma'Tok from Stargate, with opening/closing end and sounds and LED's for effects. Great work on your builds. I love watching them and learning different techniques that I might finally use one day. :)
Very cool!
A W E S O M E. No comments...The best part?... The Bloopers! Hahahaha Big hug from Spain😇
Thanks so much Jorge! We sure have a lot of fun while build. =)
the hidden blade from assassins creed movie
Another great video! There are conductive epoxies (I use MG Chemicals #8331) for attaching wires or making conductive pathways for electric/electronic circuits that totally eliminate the risk of melting plastic or de-magnetizing magnets with solder. Very effective!
Thanks Mike!
Looks awesome !!
Very great Work. ;- )
My dream kit from a film is Luke Skywalker's Lightsaber from Return of the jedi, I love the design even though it's kinda like Obi Wan's lightsaber. But I favour this one more because Return of the jedi is one of my childhood films and I grew up knowing that saber. Of course I know Anakin's. Obi wan's and so on but Again I really like Luke's out of everyone else's lightsaber
Right on :)
