Americans are from the Continent of América. These are U.S. citizens/U.S. Americans.
1st kid was corrected that Africa is a continent.
América is a continent.
América is not a country or nation, Therefore, 'American' is not a nationality or citizenship.
An American is from the Continent of América, including Canadians & U.S. citizens.
Meaning, U.S. Citizens/U.S. Americans are not the only Americans.
@@CaptainAmerica001 qu'est-ce que tu racontes?
They are call Americans because they are citizens of the united states of america
As for asia
For example
We won't call arabs, persians, indians(indians has a lot of ethnic by the way )asians
But these countries are technically in asia
To make it short
They named their country america
Therefore they call themselves american
As for European
It is more like a term to unify themselves
Like the E.U for example
But these people has different countries, ethnies, language
Have you ever heard someone say
Hey do you speak "European"
Or rather do you speak french or italian ? For example
As for americans they do have their own dialect of english
@@Amirpdd América is a CONTINENT. And your country stole the name of an entire continent
@@CaptainAmerica001 Uh ... that's why he said "outside of North America" (meaning they could have named countries in South America, just not North America). I think the question you should really be asking is why Canadians aren't also called Americans. Anyway, you should take your grievances up with the rest of the world since they're the ones who decided to call Americans "Americans." The U.S. didn't start calling themselves that until the rest of the world did.
Iam so confused with one damn question. Is Australia a continent or country? 🤔
It's both!
@@Amirpdd no, oceania is a continent
@@Amirpddpretty sure that Australia is in Oceania
i like this test. because i was geography student.
To be fair, everyone of at least school age from every country should be able to name at least 20-30 countries outside their own continent. And their capital cities. You learn it in primary school. To name 5 doesn't really debunk anything...
If you've seen the videos that I have, you'd be surprised.
nah bro, you just want to hate on americans for no reason
@@lmao5620 not hate, generally americans are bad at geography
shouldn't be mandatory it's choice you know like I don't force you to be a doctor like me yk and I shouldn't they free to choose what they like
1:41, NOPE, Cuba is not North America, it is Central America or the Caribbean
Cuba is on the North American tectonic plate.
there is no continent labeled central america
I could probably name 150 but then I'm Australian
Singapore, Venezuela, Gabon, Angola, Bhutan
0:34 i was about to comment "wdym mexico is in south america" before i realized its NOT.
its right under the us. still in north america. did i confuse it with latin america? did i forget where mexico is? idk
That's a very honest reflection!
México is in América!
@@CaptainAmerica001 but not south america
@@augustomoreira7441
'south América' is a part of América!
@@CaptainAmerica001 yes, but he asked specifically for north american countries.
or do you think that "america" is the country
and are mistaking mexico and new mexico?
Isn't Mexico technically in Central America? or does it count as both?

México is in AMÉRICA!!!

Yeah most of time it’s just performance anxiety
The guy said Moldova first before any country.
4:40 That was a close one.

Going to a college to ask is not representative of all Americans.
You're absolutely right Don, however, there have been so many videos put out there that college students are unable to answer the same exact questions.
guy who started from Moldova surprised me )))
You should ask for 5 countries with population less than 1M
do people _actually_ think africa is a country?
It's probably the same people that think America is a country.
It's exactly the same logic.
If America is a country, then so is Africa!
If football (soccer) gains more popularity in US..Geography would be much easier..
Tell me you learnt Geography from Fifa without actually telling me 😉
what if it's outside of Europe as well
France, Germany, Monaco, china, chile. Easy. I ain’t an adult but that’s so easy
Omegle vs High School Students.
Well, almost nobody mentioned any eastern europe or african countries
If you continued watching I asked African countries as well from several individuals.
@@Amirpdd because you asked them about African countries, but normal people (Europe, North America or even South America) do not know much african countries.
Also, the people you ask for african/asian countries are not the same as the people from the beginning.
well if nobody mentioned them....
Ahh. If you would of asked me. Would of gotten probably 90% countries of the world. 100% of Europe, South America, and Asia of the countries there
really. how many countries do you think there are in the world?
You should've asked them if they could name any of the Pacific island countries.
5 Countries: Uruguay, Suriname, Guyana, French Guiana, Guinea
1:54 lol the guy probably doesn’t even know what north america is
name a country
Everyone: Africa?
Africa is not a country.
Name a country in Africa.
Also Same people: Burkina Faso, Malawi, Mauritania, Togo, Eritrea
The diversity in responses for Africa blew my mind 😁
GOOD TO KNOW MY! GOD! For second I thought Ethiopa🇪🇹 was not located in Africa 😂😂😂

*United States of América.

@@alkdjfhgks1919
You are correct.
And a piece of paper doesn't determine how intelligent anyone is either.
Why did so many go to France and Germany?
Does this really say anything? I should hope that pretty much everyone can name at least 10 countries.
I was curious to put the theory into test because I have seen so many videos on people not being able to answer this simple question.
10 ?
Please, ask for five countries in America.
If you mean North America, might as well answer. USA, Canada, Mexico, Jamaica, and Cuba
How about South East Asia?
Students at a university, clearly not the general public so obv they’re going to be a bit more educated
Actually you're wrong. Geography isn't just about knowing countries in certain continents, but also where they're located in the continent, the countries they border, the population, etc. So if you asked them to point out the countries they just said they wouldn't be able to because the USA school system sucks.
Absolutely!
There is bad and good americans at geography. like every where. All the people you asked was young or students. So it wasn't the worst candidate.
That’s something that I said in my other responses as well. It depends on who you ask.
This vid just proves the stereotype?? these questions are the bare minimum. Were not gonna praise them for doing something they're expected to do. Also most of them hesitated or got answers wrong in the beginning. thats soo embarrassing....
A couple people hesitated but everyone answered correctly, it's not a speed test you junkie, just as long as they answered correctly that's all that matters.
Name 5 countries outside North America
umm Atlantis
Nope
BUT THEY MADE A TV SHOW ABOUT A MAN FROM THERE!
People here did get a lot correct... after hesitating and getting some incorrect answers. I would expect people on a college campus to namer at least 50 countries on all continents! (I know that would be a boring video!)
I've seen a good amount of videos where college students were unable to answer questions similar to this.
@@Amirpdd Sadly, I have too. I'm always shocked and think that it must be a joke or something... but probably not.
Name 5 countries outside of Europe? That should be a question.
Or in America!

2 be fair. I've seen a lot worse. Reason why they are at college. Some smart kids out there
I think it largely depends on who you ask. That's why I also plan on trying a different audience next time around.
@@Amirpdd Definitely. Nice channel.
@@Amirpdd Exactly. As soon as you said you were asking tertiary education students I knew there would be a lot more correct answers than " people on the street ". Having said that most of the other students were destroyed by the guy non American. It would also be interesting to see how many can point to them on a map instead of just reciting names.
