I think another interesting one is glintblade phalanx, the skill but not the spell. Seems like you get one stack of hemorrhage-over-time per blade, so 4 if they all connect. Arguably worth using once before starting a boss fight, to get a head start on bleed, if you're going to use bloodflame blade anyway. The glitnblades don't go through fog walls though, so not for those bosses, unless there's actually time to buff inside.
This is the case for most skills like this. My favorite is the bear witness skill on the grafted dragon. Main hand a normal weapon, buff it, and offhand grafted dragon. It also gets the buff. I like RKR and nuking with the skill. So many people in pvp try to outtrade it. Often deals over 2000 damage.
I think Great Stars could also be a good weapon for this build. Heal on hit, lower weight and stat requirements, and innate bleed. You simply lose 5 pts in guard boost.

I started a strength build with colossals in 1.07 and found that 2h blocking into guard counters to be surprisingly effective too. Liked it better than rolling in a lot of cases, since the rolling attack is really slow now.
This is very similar to what I accidentally did with my very first build, except I used Great Stars instead of Beastman's Cleaver. It already has some base bleed, and the damage ticks from Eruption heal you a little bit due to the weapon passive. However, the blocking stats are not as good. Also, Eruption will deal slightly more poise damage to enemies from a Great Hammer than a Curved Greatsword. Anyone reading this who wants to do this build prior to Farum Azula, consider Great Stars, which is available as soon as you get to Altus Plateau.
good video! another great option for this build could be the rusted anchor, the pierce damage it deals is great for interrupts with spear talisman so it fits the aggressive trading playstyle very well. its much worse for blocking though so it might fit better for a more traditional greatshield/guardcounter build.

I tried this type of build a while back. I found the amount of stamina loss involved was just not worth it. I was building around colossals. Maybe I'll give beast man a try.
I really like the idea of this build and taking it even further and to higher levels. Specifically around level 180. This level I believe is where the build unlocks its full potential in that at this point you hit the 29 mind threshold to cast your full array of buffs, and 47 endurance so that you can wield the weapons & seal, as well as wearing a full set of Veteran's Armor which I believe still has the best defense/poise/weight ratio, though please correct me if I'm wrong as I'd love some input on this. Build also has the standard 60/54/14 with v/s/d, and I like to run 38 faith for Blessing of the Erdtree as I really value the increased health regen, and I also run Black Flame's Protection, Golden Vow, and Bloodflame Blade, so I really get a lot of value out of Old Lord's Talisman. My preferred setup for Talisman's is Dragoncrest Greatshield, Greatshield Talisman, Crimsonseed, and Old Lord's Talisman, as I really prefer playing with the increased buff duration, and the crimsonseed negates the penalty of heal reduction on the Black Flame Protection. The lack of a turtle talisman can be offset if you so choose by running the Turtle Shield instead of the Serpent Sword, which would require level 181 to hit 48 endurance. Just my thoughts and would love any input you might have Chrightt.
What about great stars? I mean it has WAY less physical guard and guard boost yes, but the heal on-hit could stack with bestial vitality to alleviate that detriment, it also has base bleed, meaning that the eruption would do 90 bleed instead of 50 bleed per tick. It has slightly lower dex requirements and weight as well.
Question: Is it worth trying to make this a non-faith build and just use Blood Grease? Yes, you lose the fire damage bonus, but you can reallocate those faith points into other stats.
For your next build, I'd love to see a hyper optimized Blasphemous Blade build designed to destroy PvE and have some PvP viability. Make it the ultimate coop build.
Could you make a short video talking about the R2 that also has a block like Carian's Knight Sword. Is there any way to improve the defense of that action?

Maybe even Shard of Alexander for more dmg? I feel like GTT is useless with Wavedash.
Even with wave dashing you will find yourself lacking here in PVE as more stamina means more time to engage/attack. Weaving in wavedashing only allows you to sprint without consuming stamina, which you don't do much of anyway. The effect is much more apparent in PVP where people run for days without doing much.

Idk if this applies here, but it's also worth mentioning that: just because an enemy is using a weapon etc doesn't mean *that singular enemy* will drop it for you. (See Haligtree Crest GS, Monk's Flameblade, etc) For the Cleaver I farmed it towards the end of Farum Azula before/at the Draconic Tree Sentinel, hop on the bridge, head downwards, jump the gap, and in there you can find one to farm. _(If I'm remembering correctly, sorry lol)_

Hey Chrightt, got a request. After the greatsword video you posted there's all sorts of people claiming the Knights' greatsword combo is/isn't real. Is there a mod or a tool you could provide a link to where folks can test it themselves? or if not you, would it be worth asking the guy who helped with your hitbox range video for a similar tool?
Hello, there isn't a tool that specific, but the issue with the greatsword combo is probably because people need to unlock to do late/early hits like Lmaotan did in the video. Most people play locked on, so it probably didn't work for them.
@@Chrightt Thanks very much for the reply! Kaj filled me in with some extra info about true-combos on the Discord too ^_^ yeah in hindsight I should've seen how Lmaotan was hitting the jumping attacks unlocked, and jumping behind the opponent to hit with the "backswing" portion of the active frames
I think the Vagabond starting class would be more efficient over Hero. You'd save 2 level ups overall. You can also cut some levels in Vigor and Endurance with the Erdtree's Favor +2. Having 56 Vigor and 28 Endurance nets you 1907 HP and 138 stamina with the Erdtree's Favor +2.
That isn't the case because bloodflame blade requires arcane investment and vagabond has 9 int which is wasted unlike Hero which only has 7. Hero is clearly the superior class here by 2 levels. Anything you can do on Vagabond you can do better on Hero for this build. Erdtree's requires a talisman slot I don't have that doesn't do much other than some raw stats which is much inferior to stuff like dragoncrest in PVE. As you can see, I have provided the stat distribution on starting class optimizer as well. No point using vagabond.
Differentiation between different weapons and shields on this is important. Otherwise choosing between different playstyles and weapon combinations becomes less interesting.
@@Bourikii2992 Well yes, but could you be convinced, that dealing with the chip damage (like in the video by use of bestial vitality) is an interesting challenge for such a build?
could you have phrased this in a more entitled, thoughtless way? how about "thank you for the hours of free information and entertainment! by the way, if you'd like some constructive criticism..."
@@thegondola9877 All of that is meaningless bloat. I've expressed exactly what I wanted to in the most concise way possible. When I communicate my thoughts truthfully and concisely, how is that entitled and thoughtless? I'm not grateful to Chrightt, and so me thanking him would be lying, which I personally consider disrespectful. I'm well aware that most of the world thinks lying to one's face is more respectful than telling the truth, but I disagree. You, on the other hand, exert pressure on me to keep up the pretense of politeness for your convenience, by assuming a moral high ground. What is that but not entitlement, lack of respect for different values, or thoughtlessness? You yourself embody the very things you accuse me of having.
@@peezieforestem5078 how аss-backwards is your value system if concision is a greater concern than not coming off as a rude priсk while communicating with someone? and no, I am not interested in getting into a debate with you on the epistemological origins of the social contract, I just thought I'd let you know that showing no regards for the other party in a discussion or comment is a fast track to being (rightly) perceived as insufferable, but clearly you already know that and are unbothered by it.
@@thegondola9877 I know you said you're not interested in the debate, so I'm not going to debate you. Still, I leave this comment and implore you to read it, because I believe you will benefit from it. Rudeness is in the eye of the beholder. Truth, on the other hand, is objective. Do you know, that in the certain parts of Middle East, it is considered rude to accepts an offer immediately? One has to decline at least once, usually twice. In the certain parts of Far East, declining an offer is considered impolite. Here I am, showing a person respect, while you're calling my values ass-backwards. See, the rules are contradictory, because they formed in different societies. Here, on the internet, where people are from all over the world, it is impossible to be polite. Surely, you can try, but politeness in general is not a virtue. It's the sacrifice of truth for the sake of potential short-term emotional convenience. You might sugarcoat it all you want, but politeness is people lying. Lying leads to people having less accurate picture of reality, which causes people to guess other people's intentions. This, in turn, leads to poor decisions, which ultimately benefits nobody. A good example of this is a typical autocrat. Autocrats are usually surrounded by people who tell them flattery, because angering a dictator might lead to imprisonment or death. This always leads to stupid decisions being made, such as starting a war, because an autocrat believes their army is invincible. Same thing happens with normal people, albeit the consequences are not nation-wide. Still, millions of personal tragedies add up to a nation-wide tragedy. But let's consider the benefits: first of all, when someone is rude to you, it's not a guarantee that you take offense. For example, when most people are insulted by a random hobo, usually it causes but laughter. Taking offense is not automatic, not an instinct or a subconscious process, it's actually a high-level cognitive function. As such, any benefit you get from politeness does not have a 100% uptime, it only manifests in the situations where you'd get offended. Still, what is the benefit? Supposedly, it's that people get to feel better. But is that really true? Do people really get to feel better in societies with high politeness than in societies with weak social norms? I don't have any data on it, but having traveled the world, it's my observation that it's the opposite. The way I see it, people who are sheltered are actually more susceptible to emotional damage due to their lack of experience, in other words, they never develop the mechanisms for dealing with it. People adapt to their environments, and it goes both ways. People in "rude" cultures just don't care as much about what others say, and are generally happier compared to people in "polite" cultures, who usually suffer from anxiety, stressing over what others think. Let's end this with conciseness: today, information is no longer a hard-to-get treasure it used to be a mere hundred years ago. There's so much information on the internet you can spend multiple lifetimes obtaining it, and still only get a tiny fraction of what's out there. As it is so abundant, it is no longer as valuable, particularly when it comes to opinions. As such, the most valuable thing one can do is to remove any unnecessary information, leaving only the essential. I consider time to be one of the most valuable things a person can have. As such, by making my comment as short as it needs to be, I show respect to the time of the reader. Writing concise statements actually takes more time. In the words of Cicero: "if i had more time i would have written a shorter letter". I spend the most valuable thing I have, my time, to save addressee their time. What is that but not respect? How a text is emotionally perceived is in the eyes of the reader, whereas its length is in the hands of the writer. There's much more I can write, but this has been long enough, and as I have said, I respect the reader's time, so these arguments have to suffice. I implore you to think about this matter in earnest, and I hope time will come when you'll change your opinion.

Do you know a good farming location for that thing, the Beastman's Cleaver? If I'm in the right place, then this thing is exceedingly rare.
Try farming at Beside the Great Bridge site of grace. Go down the elevator and kill the cleaver guy. Reset and repeat. Or try the first belfry from the bottom at the Four belfries.
How do I guard?
So get the Zweihander --> Greatsword ---> to beastmans? if i was leveling this?
That works! Use whatever you can find before then will work just fine :)
is it good on pvp?
Why not clawmark seal for buffing?
Because it is weaker as faith buffs only scale off faith scaling. th-cam.com/video/9oAlArVyiAw/w-d-xo.html
@@Chrightt Oooh, thank you! Does that include holy/flame damage in general for incantations?
Nevermind, found your video on it lol
Wonder if this is possible to do with radahns swords or ornamental swords so you can block and powerstance at the same time
Unfortunately not since the block button becomes and attack instead
@@jonaswest6993 hmm, you can block with weapon that got innate dual wielding mode when you two hand em like radahn sword and ornamental swords
@@jonaswest6993 no
Quick question. Why did you do a Torch weapon guide before a Greataxe weapon guide? That doesn't make any sense.
I didn’t know bloodflame blade had so much synergy with eruption. I’ve really been wanting to use that ash on the great epee
Just use deflect tear
🤣 look at the video date my guy
howdy
Howdy again!
why would you need a "proof of a purchase"?
Seems pretty self explanatory to me. But I'll break it down for you. "people lie"
I think all weapons and shields should have been 100% physical. There's no reason not to. Stability should be the only modifier.
So if you hold up a dagger or rapier to block a 2 hand great hammer swing it should block 100% damage?
Differentiation between different weapons and shields on this is important.
Otherwise choosing between different playstyles and weapon combinations becomes less interesting.
@@Shumpster4708 Yup.
@@Sinhsseax Stability exists. A dagger has garbage stability, so yes you could block one hit but after that you're wide open.
@@Bourikii2992 Well yes, but could you be convinced, that dealing with the chip damage (like in the video by use of bestial vitality) is an interesting challenge for such a build?
I hate your monotonous delivery, but the content is so great it overshadows it.
could you have phrased this in a more entitled, thoughtless way? how about "thank you for the hours of free information and entertainment! by the way, if you'd like some constructive criticism..."
@@thegondola9877 I second you here.
this is not really much other than a strength build with bloodflame blade but shitty cus the weapon doesnt even have innate bleed
I'll never understand why people make pve builds. They don't make sense. Half on the items in this vid are end game locked. How are you going to play with the build when 90% of the playthrough is done without it just to assemble to the components? Is it for ng+ or something?
Nothing you do matters in pve anyways when you can heal and summon help/use spirits
1_ endless replayability, so ng+ yes
2_ people do runs by trading or generating the weapons early on
3_ this is not aimed at people summoning
THIS WORKS BEST ON GREAT STARS WEAPON!
