Doughnuts is actually one of the rare cases (along with theatre for very different reasons) where you still occasionally see the “British” spelling in the US. Most American spellings came about in the period shortly after the Revolutionary War/War of Independence because Mr. Webster and Benjamin Franklin were on a spelling reform kick, and the few educated people who cared how it was spelled were happy to stick it to their old colonial masters by using about half of their ideas (some didn’t stick, but many did). But the American “Donut” spelling only came about in the 20th century, as a deliberate misspelling like Xtreme in the nineties, which became really popular with the big, bold art deco/“googie” signage of the postwar era, which worked better with shorter words. So, until relatively recently doughnuts was the American spelling as well.
Of course the Oxford Dictionary hadn’t come around and standardized British spellings yet either, so there was some drift in spellings on your side of the pond too, but I digress.
think the arcade is one of my fav little buildings here its the perfect british combination of cute & a bit shit

Since pinewood is supposed to be expanding further and further each decade, like a real theme park, that's not a great argument. Technically, which theme park is finished? Disneyland (anaheim) is adding star wars land, so was it not finished and thus not worth a visit before? Disney world is expending greatly (... e.g. avatar land, tron), the Efteling keeps adding new rides, Phantasialand has just had an expansion etc.
Sure, this park isn't that big yet, but it would certainly be worth a visit in my opinion.
I've been to Universal, Disney, and Lagoon (In Utah, a state.) They were both really great, but I think Pinewood Hills just gets my creativity flowing. I would love to go to Pinewood.

Awesome work as always. If I have any issues it would be with the painted wood walls on the shops extending down into the water. Water + Wood = rot. I would think these buildings would have either concrete walls or piers beneath them to the lake bed. Love your color choices though!

the last update sucks! my employees were flying all over the map, they were not working and they couldn't rest, i lost a lot of money until i realized, also the game crashed like 3 times in 30 minutes. They should really test these updates before launching.
Yeah I had some super strange glitches too such as employees being completely bugged (my entertainer would never go to rest and ended up quitting his job, my mechanic and security guard got teleported at very distant/weird places) and I had one of my ride being completely bugged out too it was supposed to break down but it wasn't happening so nobody could enter or leave the ride the entire queue was blocked and the mechanic couldn't do anything on it. I had to delete it and "undo" the delete so it reappears and it unlocked the situation. Also had about 3 crashes whereas I had none before. A bit lame, but hopefully it will be patched soon enough.
I had the same problems, one of my coasters was unfixable, the mechanics wouldn't see it, i hired 5 and had to fire them after, also some shops said they were not recheable from main entrance which they were before update

Honestly your work is brilliant. I would love to make a TH-cam channel but I just don't have the confidence or creativity.
Have you thought about maybe adding some kind of expo hall? something that the park could rent out for events? my town fair has something like that and its used for art exhibits, hobby displays, agriculture competitions (like biggest/best produce etc.) its a piece of the park that was around in the early 1900's but is still used for things like that to this day.
I still think the Ferris wheel really made the old pier "pop".

Pier 2.0 is definitely better than the original, but I do feel like it still needs some filling out, it's rather sparse apart from the end with the arcade and ride. I feel like it could do with at least one more ride (or are you planning on putting the ferris wheel back?) and maybe instead of the simple arches down the middle have something more substantial like some stalls or midway games? Also some of the new vintage street lamps dotted along the edge would look fab, maybe with some bunting or fairy lights strung between them.

The pier looks cool, however it feels odd without the ferriswheel. It really helped the catchy look. Still though Im kinda in love with the entrance.

Do you think they would add animal attractions to the game as well as dark rides similar to the ones at Disney that never end like the Nemo ride?

Jonti! You should look up Lagoon amusement park in Utah USA! It’s over 129 years old and it has such a good mix of old, and modern, and a roller coaster that’s 120 years old
I think some of the vintage pack items would actually be a nice compliment to the movies studios ride in geekism studios. Especially the car, reminds me of the early 20's and 30's cars you had in the movies game. Keep up the great work, can't wait for the next video.
Looks like you forget to build a a toilet at the Pier (23:44). But I really like what you've build, altought I must say, that the most parts of the Vintage Pack are to big and didn't match with the existing building pieces very good.
I wish I was nearly as good as you at decorating buildings. For the rest I feel I'm getting better at slowly but surely but with building I just don't know where to find the right pieces in the catalog and I end up making very blocky ugly buildings over and over. If anyone has tips or links to give me to get better at it (because most TH-camrs let's play videos are in high speed for obvious reasons making it hard to really pick up the techniques etc.)
I highly suggest checking out Folly Farm, it’s a theme park/zoo in Wales and they have a lot of traditional vintage rides and decor, I absolutely love the place and it might be some inspiration for you?!
Okay, Jonti... I must know how you come up with your creative decor. I am an artist and have created some cool buildings and decor, but nothing that compares to your detail! Any tips on how to really get that added detail without cluttering the park?
I know some people in the US spell it donuts, but I've always spelled it doughnuts. It just makes sense to me "dough" "nuts". idk... good build though.

Brighton has 1 pier, the other one was closed in 1975 and left to rot until it was set on fire in 2003 in an arson attack.

Pretty sure there is only one pier in Eastbourne. And Brighton, unless you count the burnt up husk still haha.
Most piers have iron gates at the entrance. It would be a useless addition but I think it will add to the look of the beginning of the pier.
On Geekism Studios, you should make an old movie type set with this pack.
I believe the postcards your refer to are the ones done by Donald McGill. They are really cool.
I think this pack is Frontier telling me to get back to work on that Riverview park of mine.
I'm hoping the next DLC is dinosaur related.
The best addition would be a tool to resize scenery objects!!!!!!
Suggestion: fade the paint a little more on the sides that face the sun the most...

I live in Blackpool even tho we have 3 piers North, Central & South theres a place outside Blackpool called St. Annes that has a mini peir just like the one youre builing that would have been lerfect refrence material for you

_YP_Ridl3y alot of arcades in England (older ones) seem to have more than one entrance I have 2 in the town were I live both have about 4 diffrent entrance

Yeah we're all moaning about this weather... I took my dog for a walk the other day and thought i'd teleported to a savannah... ALL THE GRASS IN TOWN IS DEAD! I want it to rain but my fiance is coming from America in a couple of days for a holiday and i want the weather to be nice to go to the Yorkshire wildlife park with him and to show him York. It doesn't help that we have such high humidity. It seriously sucks.

When you say you have to turn your fan off...which fan are you turning off? If you're turning off you're GPU fan, or even your main heat sink fan, yeah. It's going to overheat and shut down. Instead of killing your PC like that, I'd look into options for insulating the sound from your mic. Relocate the tower or put some material between it and your mic.

Loving the new pier looks more like a pier BUT sorry to be that “guy” but there be no way in the U.K they would allow that ride to be that close to the entrance of the arcade front with out barriers and being that close that people would get swiped out, it be its own square , think you nailed the look though overall!! but hope the Ferris wheel is going to be on the water edge or some where near to pier it’s not a pier area or uk park with out a Ferris wheel!
In the video I talked quite a bit about that entrance not being used anymore... hence the proximity. But yeah, we will relocate the wheel to the front of the lake :)

Personally PlanCo is missing attractions, not rides or coasters but stuff like aquariums, mini golf, space elevators, more transport and basic kiosks. Rides and stuff are nice, but there's only so many you can use realistically before your park looks messy.

I did an area in my “vintage park” where half is a carnival (arcades flat rides popcorn wood coaster) and the other half is a boardwalk with lots of shops and lights the other half of the park (across a central lake) will be a snooty ocean town

I think it's kind of weird that you say "gaming for grownups" or "adults" when a lot and I think I could even say most of the population of Planet Coaster is younger. Plus I feel like it's suggesting that a younger audience can't watch your videos which I just find weird considering your biggest series is a theme park sim and most of your comment section is clearly a younger audience..? IDK if that's just me or not I just know I like cringe every time you say it lol (also I'm not trying to like hate on you or be rude, I just generally don't understand it lol)
Firstly, according to TH-cam’s analytics, 95% of my audience is 18+ ...the average viewer age is 35 (older than me).
Secondly, I never say ‘adults’ always ‘grownups’. You can be a grownup 12 year old just as much as you can be a childish 50 year old.
