Mario - Smash 4 Wii U 9.0 Master Core (No damage, no customization)

- I promised long ago that I would no damage the 9.0 Master Core like I did to all the Brawl bosses, and I have finally gotten around to doing it.
The biggest obstacle to doing this was having to go through 9.0 Classic first for every single attempt, which takes about a good 10-15 minutes every time, as there's no way in the game to go fight the Master Core directly, and dying at any time bumps the difficulty down on a continue, so I couldn't just SD and immediately retry again upon getting hit. If it wasn't for that, I would have managed this in a few hours at most, and got it done long ago instead of procrastinating and sporadically trying here and there. Now for some analysis on each phase:
The Hands phase is easy, as the Hands start off predictably with attacks you can easily counterattack, and you can easily beat them before they really get going. Focus offense on Master Hand and preemptively get your shield up for the first attack, as it can be a quick hand swipe or finger flick, which will end a no damage run before it can begin if you got overly aggressive at the start.
When it comes to the Giant, don't be afraid to go offstage, as it'll help a ton in evading otherwise hard-to-dodge attacks. The scream attack in particular has to be watched out for, as the head-grabbing animation can hit you, and it comes out extremely quick with no apparent pattern. As long as you don't flub going offstage when needed, the Giant isn't that hard to no damage.
The Beast is tricky; you can beat this phase really fast, as you can use Mario's down smash to deal a rather quick 22% in one blow, but using any sort of lengthy move against the Beast is unadvised as it can attack so fast. As such, I play very safe here, and don't go for double-hitting down smashes or any sort of move with a lengthy completion, as the Beast can easily attack and hit you while you're stuck in hitlag/ending lag.
The Edges were probably the most difficult phase, with a bevy of difficult-to-dodge attacks, no safe zones, and the ability to trap you with its long-lasting large-coverage projectiles. Fortunately it does give you a couple of ample opportunities to get a charged double-hitting down smash in to keep the phase from lasting too long.
The Shadow was also difficult, as one little mishap can result in you getting hit. Luckily for Mario, his infamous down throw to up tilts to up aerials combo will wipe out about 3/4ths of the Shadow's health. Another thing to take advantage of is the Shadow doesn't use air dodges like normal CPUs, and doesn't really defend itself from attacks (though it will use counter-aerials and will easily hit you first if you mis-space).
Then finally for the Fortress, it's the easiest part; unlike the other phases, it'll be 100% identical every time, right down to the first attack enemies in the Fortress will use, and the threats in the Fortress are easily overcome with Mario. If you got the Fortress strat down, you should be able to no damage through it every time. I should eventually do this with more characters (and maybe someday with everyone), and hopefully when Wii U hacking advances and becomes accessible, there becomes a way to skip Classic and go straight to fighting the Master Core.
Overall, no damaging the 9.0 Master Core wasn't that difficult with Mario, and despite all the theatrics, 9.0 wasn't much harder than SSE's Duon and Tabuu were to no damage.

I tried this with Falcon once. I was actually really close, until the dumbest death ever. I was in the second leg of Master Fortress, at the big drop, but I accidentally wall jumped into the acid... I haven't tried since.

I'm with you. Attempting 8.0 to 9.0 with other characters is Next to impossible. I did that with Mr. Game and Watch on 8.0, I managed to persevere through the battles, until I got to the Master Fortress, Where every time I Die from the Yellow Lava, I rage, and I RAGE HARD. Until I found out about the Greatness Of Lucina, In which I Did it at 8.0, and it was Very Easy for me To go through the Master Giant, Master Beast, and Master Edges, all because of the True Power of Countering. The Master Fortress, Pfff, I can deal with that easily Thanks to Not only the best Use of Countering, But How much Damage she can deal from her sword. Thus, Making The Master Fortress, either a total joke, or a Rage Indusing Level That Requires Skill, Patience, Perseverance, clearing out what area are you at, Not Fucking Up Once, Not touching a single pixel on the Yellow Lava alongside staying away from it, and a whole lot of Close calls from those annoying as Fuck Laser Enemies, Crawlers, and the worst Yellow Lava Placements I've ever seen that will make me Rage If I touch a single one.

Angel Burgos you tried with Mr. Game & Watch and I applaud you for that. He's a great character. I don't have the Wii U version but the 3DS is equally hard and I managed to defeat Core with Mr. Game & Watch on 9.0 and also with R.O.B.

When you don't finish Master Core off at the end, it explodes by releasing three pulses that can be spotdodged. A true 9.0 0-damage run would wait and dodge those last three pulses.

I like to think that Master Fortress is like human body. 1 target is in the Mouth. 2nd is the stomach. 3rd on the back (I guess) and final one is the Heart
I don't care how high the stakes between Galleem or Dharkon are, *THIS* will always be the most epic Super Smash Bros. final boss to me, second only to GigaBowser. (Melee Ver.)
I've managed to beat parts of Master Core without taking damage on the 3DS version, but this is something else!

I've literally just noticed that Master Hand is Red, while Crazy Hand is Blue.
Interesting way to differentiate them.

Yes Master Fortress is Wii U exclusive. Smash 3DS does have a tougher Master Shadow fight though, the AI there actually dodges.
I managed to beat 9.0 Today, with Link, without customs. So much attempt were made, My recent attempt, I lost a few lives, And I managed to Hold Together Dammit, and beaten it. It was so damn satisfying to make it all the way to the end.
Congratulations! Link is a pretty solid fighter. I prefer toon link for more mobility, but link is a bit heavier and stronger. I'm still trying to beat 9.0 with G&W

Same, but I did it with a custom Ganon. I was at exactly 100%, and I was about to get lasered, but I destroyed the final heart before it could hit me. I couldn't even do it with Cloud RIP
