The Western Lowland gorilla can be quite the pacifist primate, unlike chimpanzees. That was a good point Gorilla Life. I was watching a film where a beautiful silverback and his troop (in the wild) heard an unfamiliar sound. At first the females heard it and the youngsters climbed up on their moms back. When the silverback came running to the troop to check it out, he discovered it was another silverback. We know what happens when 2 alpha silverback cross paths. The beautiful silverback with the family knew what would happen if he challenged the uninvited silverback and lost, so he slowly called for his family and walked away. Silverback have their work cut out for them. They really do. Great video today!
Thanks for sharing this story. I loved hearing it. I watch zoo gorillas because I know they are (relatively) safe (although admittedly captivity is rarely ideal for them), as I can’t bear the perils and challenges they face in the wild. 🦍♥️

Genki is 36 years old; I don't think she'll have another baby. Captive gorillas can live to be 50, but Genki is too old to have more babies, sadly. She was very old when she had Kintaro, unfortunately Momo doesn't seem to have interest in more offspring either.

How is eating a vegetarian diet makes all gorillas so large and look so healthy. I haven’t seen them eating any sort of meat, only green leaves carrots and fruit?
If I lived in Japan I'd visit Kintaro EVERYDAY. Unfortunately I live in San Francisco, California so I have to rely on Your videos on TH-cam to see the coolest gorillas in the world. Going to see the gorillas at our zoo in S.F is just depressing. The poor gorillas out here seem very sad and they hate the vistors. They throw poop at them. One time I even witnessed one gorilla give the visitors the middle finger. He had to know it meant something bad cause it was after some asshole thought it would be funny to tease the poor gorilla & threw something at the gorilla. The gorilla did a mock charge,chucked the item back at people then sat down and stared down everyone watching him then he slowly lifted up his middle finger and kept it up for like 3 to 5 minutes. Hed pick his nose, scratch his face all while holding up the middle finger. He definitely learned it was an insult and was using it back at people. I like how your zoo is set up better then San Franciscos ,because your housing prevents abuse from those rude visitors. In san Francisco they are openly exposed to all the noises of the People , the people often tease them and people easily can throw dangerous item into their living space. Hopefully it's not like that anymore though. I should go check. I stopped visiting our zoo over a decade ago because I didn't like the living conditions of some of the animals. It's weird some animals got these large safe dwellings and others like the gorillas and spider monkeys got a studio apartment size enclosure that exposes them to all the worst people & they CANT escape it Or even hide. The chimps had a decent size enclosure ,unfortunately they housed like 30 chimps in there making it just as crowded as an american prison.

As a result, the two gorillas are able to see us eye to eye. In general, it doesn't happen. Momotaro is so introverted gorilla and rarely beats his chest. Even his zookeepers hear of it at least ten times a year. Genki wise, she is really independent female gorilla. In a good way, she never treat us as hostiles as she has no interest of us. As you mention, other gorilla troops in Japan tap a glass window to express their strength or keep away from people. In conclusion, a number of viewers are fascinated by this gorilla family. Es muy elegante pero le falta mucho para ser tan divertido y buen papá como Shabani. A Mamotaro no le quitas ni una hoja de comida. A Shabani le quita un hijo algo y no sale corriendo dispuesto a cojérselo de un manotazo.

南西のガラス窓がいいと思います。できれば、人があまりいない時間帯に。ここは、他と比べると、ゴリラに会うのに遠回りな点。ゴリラがゆっくりできる場所である点。適度な距離がゴリラとある点。などがあります。人混みであれば、どのガラス窓でもあまり変わりはありません。 僕の場合は、ゴリラが全くいないガラス窓で待つタイプです。ゴリラから寄って来た時には他の来園者はまだいませんから、ゴリラもリラックスしてます。ゴリラがいる場所へ移動でなくて、ゴリラがいない場所へ。これも時間帯により予測が可能です。Night of Full moonさんが、何曜日？何時？何月？天気？ これが分かれば、最高のシチュエーションでゴリラを観れるタイミングをお教えできます。

ゴリラの魅力を知ってからは、毎日深夜迄ゴリラのTH-camばかり見ています。
しかも、ほとんど京都のモモタロウファミリーです。
私は、現在年齢的に不可能ですが、タイムスリップできたら、ゴリラ舎のスタッフとして働きたい気持ちです。
再び京都のゴリラ舎の前で一日中ゴリラだけを見て帰るつもりです。
ゴリラへの熱い思いだけでもご理解頂けたら幸いです。
