When his father Momotaro and Kintaro were playing, Gentaro came up to him and appealed for him to play with him, but unfortunately Gentaro could not play with Momotaro.
Unfortunately, Gentaro was not able to play with Momotaro, and it was sad to see Gentaro staring at Momotaro's back.

Father Momotaro ♂(2000/7/3)
He is hesitant in new situations and is a loner.
His father died before he was born, and he had never spent time with a silverback.
He had already turned into a silverback by the time he was 10 years old.
He is struggling with unfamiliar child-rearing.
Mother Genki ♀ (1986/6/24)
She is 14 years older than Momotaro and has a role to support the whole family mentally.
She has had a tumultuous and eventful life.
She has returned to her birthplace, Kyoto City Zoo.
She had never been blessed with a baby but after meeting Momotaro,
she had two sons.
She is a very maternal female gorilla.
First son Gentaro, male (2011/12/21)
He was separated from his mother Genki soon after he was born.
Genki's milk production was not very good.
He was raised by his keeper for his first10 months.
Because of this, he is very fond of humans.
His face is so expressive, and everyone enjoys watching him.
Second son Kintaro ♂ (2018/12/19)
He is just very strong-willed and independent.
He has big eyes and long eyebrows.
The way he plays a lot with his brother Gentaro is
makes everyone smile.
We can't wait to see what kind of gorilla he'll become!

Wonderful to see Momotaro and Kintaro playing. I hope we get to see more of this as Kintaro gets bigger. Great to see the three boys all together. Though, I think Gentaro misses playing with his father the way he did when he was younger. Good night Momotaro family.

Instinct tells Momo to distance himself from GT because he is really perceived as a future threat. Remember Momo wasn’t raised by his father so he was not shown the balance. That’s why he is so close to KT because there is no threat or confusion there! Love the boys

Its sad to see him dejected. He just sits there and stews in his hurt feeling that are to express them somehow and that when he gets mean. His sadness and loneliness, the isolation and both of his parents turning away from him makes him act out because he can't talk to anyone. There should he an enclosure for all of the midway males that vacillates between being a foolish child and a dignified Silverback. They could rough house ans have companionship. If some zoo anywhere in the world supporting such a home for an all male troop they could introduce females and get a head start like Kentaro joining them in time and introduce multiple females to facilitate a healthy br÷din program. It could produce numerous females
@@ritaamunrud4201 I know that would be great if they did that. So they can play and just be happy teenagers. I know one thing it would be interesting to watch, but yeah Gentaro is so lonely he really do be looking sad with that sweet baby face he have. He act out for attention. It’s like he’s saying “look at me look at me” I wish I worked at that zoo I would be playing with him all day. They would have to drag me out of that enclosure lol…

Jetzt spielt Momo stattdessen mit Kintaro und Gentaro ist ein bisschen eifersüchtig und sucht die Aufmerksamkeit von seinem Dad. Kintaro ist etwas stürmisch und Momo schubst ihn weg. Es könnte auch sein, dass Kintaro keine Lust mehr zum Spielen hatte und Daddy schubst ihn an, als wollte er sagen: "was, willst du schon aufgeben?"😉
Es ist süß, wie Gentaro Momo von hinten anschubst, als würde er zu verstehen geben: "lass Kintaro in Ruhe, nicht zu grob!" Er beschützt seinen kleinen Bruder. 😍🐒🦍
Mal sehen, wie es weiter mit Gentaro und seinem Dad geht, denn Gentaro soll ja voraussichtlich noch zwei Jahre im Kyoto Zoo bleiben, bis entschieden wird, wo er sein weiteres Leben verbringt. Ich drücke alle Daumen, dass er ein gutes Zuhause bekommt, wo er eine eigene Familie gründen kann. 🥰🦍
I think Gentaro thinks Momo is gonna hurt his little buddy too. He always comes for backup, even thought he’s leery of Momo. He’s always gonna have his brothers back.

Gentaro getting the cold shoulder from his parents once again...I don't know he doesn't lose his mind from pure boredom. It'll be sad to see him go one day, but at the same time I'll be happy for him when he finds a gorilla to interact with. Life has been quite unfair to Gentaro.
Would be good to see Gentaro in a troop with other males around his age for company. Or with another female. Maybe Annie. 🙂

I’ve wondered before about that “begging” behavior. I’ve never seen any of the apes share their food or be intimidated into handing it over. It seems that if it is in their hand, their foot, or their mouth, it’s theirs. So, if they never succeed with that “begging” why would they keep doing it? I’m wondering if it means something else.
They are smelling what the other is eating if you want to see a Gorilla share her food and I think she is the only one in the world that does it go check out Ai from the Shabani Troop. She will give up food when others put their hand out and she even give others food with out being asked.
They all seem to do it too! They get really close to their face and just stare! I've wondered for years now!!????

Mo is happy to play with Kentaro but turns away an ignores Gentaro because mom interferes when Mo tries to teach and correct Gentaro. Too bad Gentaro doesn't realize its when he cries to his mom and the keepers that annoyed his father who won't plY with the cry baby when he gets in trouble. Not even baby Kentaro runs to mommy begging for sympathy. Until he stops doing that Mo is not going to pay attention.
Everyone ignores him except Kentaro. Genki rewards him with attention when he is bad. She is bringing it onto herself. Gentaro is jealous and thats natural but one minute he is hitting her and the next she is pleasuring him play with his genitals. She would be alot happier if she withheld attention when he is bad and then shower him when he is good.
Will the boys go into a bachelor group together when they are to old to be around daddy?

However, as Gentaro was growing up, dad played with him just as much as he does Kintaro. There are wonderful videos of Gentaro from the age of 2 playing with dad!

ゲンタロウは幼少時に、モモタロウと遊んでいて手加減がまだ分からなかった父に少し雑に扱われてしまった。そういう経験をしたらしいですから。
一方で、
長年（10年以上）毎日、ゲンタロウを見て来たファンの方によると、ゲンタロウはモモタロウに遊んで欲しい！ようです。そのファンの皆様はゲンタロウが生まれる前からほぼ毎日来園されてるので、飼育員さんよりも観ている時間がないです。
飼育員さんも驚く観察力を持たれています。
また、モモタロウとキンタロウは凄く楽しく遊んでいるようです。
その関係性は全く問題ないようです。新ゴリラ日記でも飼育員さんが書いていました。「毎日、二頭は楽しく遊んでいる」
