I got one of these and in general these keyboards have miserable bow / bend to them. On top of that, width wise, it also has a bit of a squeeze effect. Truthfully if you intend on using the keyboard I would just hold off until they perfect it a bit more. It's essentially just a fun little project that you later just end up looking at rather than using it. The bowing makes it miserable even on a desk mat. Hitting any of the outer edge keys flip flops the board lol. I have installed all 6 feet every which way possible and my board still moves an annoying amount from the bow/bend. I have even tried to bend the board the opposite way and thought about taking a heat gun to it but decided against it. Also if you inspect your bricks they are all a different shade of gray and a majority of mine came very scuffed and others with black/brown markings that are not easy to remove. I reached out to them and they got back with me and they said that this is a massive issue with the new gray case / variant and they are going to try to remedy in the future. The plate/pcb is 100% more stiff and the gasket mount isn't as nice as it could be because of the bow the case is squeezing onto it vertically and horizontally. I really hope they work these issues out in the future. I'm happy with mine but I'm also not that happy with it. The case really ruins the experience unfortunately. I spent a lot of time and even added plate mount stabs, the stabs the board comes with are pretty bad. The switches are fantastic but they charge people WAY TOO MUCH for them. The switches they use were the number 1 switch bought/used in China for the last few years. I got 200 of them from Aliexpress for the price they charge for 70 of them. Also it's a rule of thumb to always look at the pins of each individual switch before installing them into a board!

Trying to decide to get one of these for my father but I don’t want to ruin the surprise by asking him if the sound is good to him or not since sounds of the keyboard is important when he looks for one
Can you try and make it low profile? i saw there was like 1cm of empty space in there. im honestly not into normal mechanical keybaords but i am into low profile ones, id love to get this one and put some low profile keycaps on it.
The R2 is available both in white and grey (they also said they plan to add more colors in future). I think the R1 has been discontinued (from their website at least, maybe others still sell it).
