80 Series Land Cruiser LS Swap Part 12! Let's Go For A Drive!! DONE!-ish

  • If you haven't seen the series of videos which step by step explains the entire swap process of putting the 5.3L GM V8 and 6L80e into my 1997 Lexus LX450, Click Here! • LS Swapping My Land Cr...
The time is finally here! After over 3 years, I am finally able to drive and enjoy the fruits of my labor. To call it done is a bit of an overstep, but I can drive it! In this video I talk about the pains of this swap, and the driving characteristics. Towards there end there are a few acceleration clips.
I really, really, really hope those that have just found this video and those that have been following from the beginning enjoyed this series of videos. My entire goal with filming this process is to take a lot of the R&D, guesswork, and homework out of taking on a project similar to this. I'll be building a website with all wiring diagrams, part numbers, part sources, do's and don'ts, and every little detail as I feel there needs to be an all inclusive location to find this information, and for free of course.
I'm no expert, but if you're swapping your 80 series and run into a snag feel free to email me at Mazdamiester@gmail.com with what you are stuck on. I'll do my best to help!
Don't forget to subscribe for more 80 series content! Lots of off-road videos to come!!
    -Eric

Dude! Nice!!! I remember watching your first video back when you posted it! I totally get the lull/frustration in the middle when the end seems so far away....I am SO THANKFUL for these videos! I've got a '91 that I've had as my DD for the last 6 years and if you think the 1FZ is bad...the 3-FE is laughable and I'm ready for an LS variant. Really eyeing the LQ4 and cant decide between a 4L or 6L transmission. Let us know when you get that domain up! Thanks again for the MASSIVE insight into this swap- enjoy it!!!

Thanks for sharing loved every episode, will look out for web domain, Have a 105 series with a donkey 1hz, hoping to do a l83 with 6l80 swap as soon as covid stops killing my income. I know it is a super reliable 4.2 diesel especially in South Africa but so thirsty and no power especially for towing, even though my truck has only done 80 000 km it just doesn't drive like it could. You have inspired!

Great series on the LS swap, just binge watched the lot (laid up after double hernia operation). I have a 93 80 series (RH drive in Aust) with a 6.5 Chev diesel n/a, it's been in the 80 over 10 years. Currently removing it to fit a 6.5 turbo ( garret not GM) on a rebuilt motor, can't wait to get back to work on it. Recently discovered your channel and enjoying your vids while I'm laid up,.

Son and I just did a body off, frame restoration with upgrade to a 5.3 with mild roller cam coupled to a 4L60e. This does require a tail shaft modification and an Eric's Adapter. We previously made a custom Mercedes W114 hotrod with a 05 Corvette LS 2 and 15 Camaro TR 6060 6 speed. I think the Cruiser will give it a run!
Say, Who are you? Where are you? How do people contact you about parts? This would be great info to have in your TH-cam bio!! We'd like to purchase another tcase for the FJ 60, do you have any???
