I can't believe there are any negative comments for this video. Hands downs, this is the best/simplest Wordpress tutorial I have ever seen. I thought this was something very difficult to do, but you did a great job simplifying it. Thanks!

There are negative comments because he left a lot out. This is a 5,000 foot view. If you have a site with multiple tabs, pages, etc., its not this simple.

Thank you for this wonderful concise summary of how to convert an old html website to wordpress. I have a html website which has great Google rankings and is often referenced by other websites. What I am worried about is that if I use your process and use the plug-in HTML Import2, will I end up with new URLs for each of my pages, which means I lose all my google rankings and of course the links from other websites. Does it mean I will then have to create redirects for every page - and my website has 300 pages!!! Please advise. Thanks.

Is there a beginners' course? I am a single user who may want to convert my index.html on the university server to WP. It is from 1995. It only has links to other html-files on my directory, lists, images, pdf-documents. I have no clue what CSS or PHP mean, or what a theme. I don't need to create A SITE, just convert my homepage while keeping it on the same server provided by my employer.

Let's say my site has most of its content on a single-page build but uses a secondary page for some slightly different content. I would think not. He literally just showed us how to make a theme. Themes are cosmetic. I have yet to see a service that lets you create a site in code and then hand it over to a client for him to manage on his own. The closest I have found is netlify which hosts static sites and netlify cms. But as far as I have seen, that solution requires a visitor to land on the homepage and then navigate to a simple blog on a page, or just land directly on the blog.. not exactly the flexibility I am looking for.
