- G'day Sim Enthusiasts...
Back into the Early Access of BeyondATC and this time I though would try an IFR approach into Essendon (YMEN) using the RNP17 and see how BeyondATC controllers handle it..

No take off clearance on landing…lol…I love it!!!
Thought you might find that amusing !! I certainly did.......
Lots of enjoyment surprises with this flight.😊
thanks for tuning in. Hope you enjoyed it !!
Came here from sparks stream. 👍 Subbed.
Cheers Rimac. Good to see ya buddy and welcome !! Been doing the flight sim thing for a while and now recently into driving (thanks to Sparks!), although my flying is a bit better than my driving !!!
A tip for reading the plates at 03:50 MENNF is broken up to "MEN" means melbourne essendon, "N" is north, "F" is final - MEN N F
MENNI is "MEN" melbourne essendon, "N" north, I "initial approach fix" - MEN N I
Most RNAV/RNP approaches in Australia are broken up that way, so they'll have a 3 letter identifier for the airport, N/S/E/W depending on what direction you're coming from, and a letter for where it is in the approach. I for initial approach fix, F for final, M for missed approach point, H for missed approach hold point etc.
So when talking to a controller for MENNF for example, you'll say "Essendon november foxtrot", and MENNI "Essendon November India"
Cheers Glenn. I never new that. Your video on IFR plates is ongoing overdue for us amateurs !!
Probably frustrating from your view but really amusing was my thought. 😂😂
Cheers mate. I dont want it to come across as a bad piece of software because to be honest I actually like it. It is early access but I do think that once the bugs are out of it, will be a great tool for those that perhaps want an alternative to VatSim or PilotEdge.
In addition...ML APP (132.00) is supposed to give you clearance for the RNP app ...NOT Essendon tower...they only give you landing clearance
thanks Nick. Noted. I couldnt even get that from the tower as you will see in the video..
@@CessSim did u tune in to 132.00 for the rnp app?...because if u didn't i can understand how AI would be totally confused...2 wrongs weren't making a right...
@@pushingtin207 My wife says that to me all the time............!
Maybe Approach was not copying because you are supposed to contact ML CTR on 135.7 for clearance...ML APP controls airspace only from 2500ft and above over Melton...
I did try that. Didnt work in BeyondATC...........
The BeyondATC client can give you ideas of what you can say. I guess a bit hard with that likely on your control console though.
Yeh thanks mate but would need to bring it onto one of the inner screens which not keen on.....
In addition did Simbrief by any chance route you via waypoints PWLC & CGB which are VFR waypoints ....not IFR because by doing RNP approach I am assuming you have filed IFR?
Good point. Let me check.........did file IFR though.
yes, I am finding that it's not making progress and in some instances is getting worse. so, before BATC fanboys start getting on my case, I do understand that it's early access, but I would have expected more progress at this point.
Yes could be better I agree but to be fair I do have a few errors in here, but do see your point. Still feel a solid piece of software with great potential....
@@CessSim I do agree it has potential.
