I don't see what the big deal is about the mistake - she handles it gracefully - just means there's one brief empty section, but she retains her composure throughout and powers through nicely. It's not exactly a trainwreck here, folks.

at first i was saying why is the harpsichord player is playing wrong and i didnt knew that the composer is playing the harpsichord until i read the comments of people , after i knew that she didnt preform before in big hall and she got nervous while playing i respected her courage of saying that .... let me tell you guys : as a pianist its really not easy to play in live preformance with big audiance .
Not to try and bash on the video, the music, or Michiru at all, because Castlevania is my favorite game of all time and Michiru is badass. But I personally to me, (now I'm not sure if this was meant to be played this way or not but..) at the coda to repeat the solo part at 1:54, she played the 2nd ending instead, and was 4 bars ahead of the orchestra. It makes sense too if you listen to the orchestra they play the same thing. Not that it matters I guess, I mean it's her song, haha, & shes badass
as a live performer she's not good....i agree with the guy who said she's too distant from the orchestra, and she plays a little off the time scale.....and the mistake in the middle section is terrible.....maybe with some more rehearsals, this'd be perfect :P BUT as a video game composer, she's a hell of a genious.....so stick to the original version, it's way better
and she did seem kinda distant from the group. But she probably played through it with them a couple times. Which is cool, becuase she probably had other deadlines and things to do, also.

Beautiful live rendition, though Yamane-san herself seemed rather confused, especially 1:59 - 2:05. It had been some time since she composed the piece however. :P

The Harpsichord seems to be out of tempo in some passages. I know it is her composition and it sounds great overall, but I don't get some of choices taken with the arrangement, presuming that they are not just mistakes. They sound really out of place.
agreed but she's a composer, not a performer. her trills are ass and she completely blows the hammer note segment. the orchestra doesn't sound entirely pro either though. still a fun listen though :)

And this, kids. Is why you should practice every day. And have a music sheet when you play. I love the SOTN OST and watching its creator make so many mistakes while playing kinda makes me sad :( I know we all make mistakes, but c'mon it's your Opus Maxima, you could at least rehearse it a couple of days prior to the show.

I still enjoyed it even with the minor errors. Having played Harpsichord myself, I can attest to the fact that those keys are very hard to press down given that there is resistance from the plucking of the strings each time. It's like playing a piano where all the keys have gum stuck between the keys almost. You have to press down harder than usual and with more precision on faster portions.

Michiru is an amazing composer, she's not a live performer, that's why we don't see her a lot, but her works, speak for her :)
