My father is the Chief of Collection for the IRS. At last someone got the info right. Forget calling the IRS, they don't have enough manpower as it is and wait lines are 4 hours. If you must, you can send in just a 1040 form with your name, SSN, fill in your bank info routing numbers and just write on it, "for banking deposit information only. Official required forms already submitted." It's worth a shot as these are manually entered and it will show up in the database.
Then I’m all set! Already filed my 2019 taxes last month, set up direct deposit & received my tax refund 1-2 weeks later. Glad I filed early! Gimme that stimulus money! haha
@Elver Gonzales I got my refunds from federal and state on March 18th and 20th! So I am betting the stimulus cash will be here just as quickly. I have been doing my own on turbo tax for the last 6 years.

I called the IRS and this is what they showed me: The IRS does not have my direct deposit information. What can I do? In the coming weeks, Treasury plans to develop a web-based portal for individuals to provide their banking information to the IRS online, so that individuals can receive payments immediately as opposed to checks in the mail.

Julio Tomas if u already filed your 2019 taxes and have direct deposit, your check will be here in about a week and a half to two weeks. If you haven’t filed your 2019 taxes or don’t have direct deposit, you will get a paper check that will take 3-4 weeks.
Starting March 13th, for 60 days, the department of education suspended tax offsets. If they already took it before then, I doubt you can get that money back unfortunately.

I grew up more or less poor, Never had much really, And I live simple, I go to the store I buy like jugs of water and those kool-aid packets in boxes for my drinks, I can easily live my life eating ramen or rice, And I have severe stomach issues and yet don't have more tp then I will ever need, I watch people when I'm out in such a rush in life, arguing over such trivial things thinking they have it bad in life and I just shake my head. Meaning that it could come anywhere from a few days to a couple weeks..... However if additional paperwork is filed (not just a standard return) such as injured spouse. It takes up to 11 weeks to get return according to the IRS website..... But if the stimulus goes by first one's who filed. Mine was filed January 28th......

I spoke with my tax person and all it is, is if you either filed taxes in 2018 and 2019 you will get a check. But must have filed within those two years and were under the limit. 2019 people who filed of course will get theirs first but eventually the 2018 will also get theirs. For people saying if you pay back taxes cause you’re self employed or work for Lyft/ Uber etc. you will still get a check.
I talked with the person who does my taxes and did not file my 2019 yet because I can't pay her to do them yet. However, I did do my 2018 and nothing has changed between 2018 and 2019 taxes at all. She told me that from all the info she has that as long as your 2018 or 2019 taxes were filed by now that you will get direct deposit (if you used to bank account for direct deposit in 2018 or if you got your 2019 already submitted). So either way I qualify. She said no one is sure how fast the payments will go out, but all she can confirm is if they have your bank account info... you will get it before anyone who has to get paper checks will. Social Security people have to do direct deposit... S.S.A. had stopped sending out paper checks about two or so years ago. So Social Security People will get them just the same as those who filed in 2018 and/or 2019 already and used the bank account for direct deposits.

Paula West Actually not everybody with a social security number gets a check . If you are an adult with a social security number, and someone claims you as a dependent you will not get a check.
I recall the previous 2 Treasury stimulus, economic incidents where tax payers got rebates. The 2009 program ran slow but since its 2020, most tax payers, recipients should get the 💰 by 04/06/20 as Trump says. Delays and bank systems MAY crash. 🏦 I bet 1000s of accounts may have errors, problems.
What I cant find is information for the poor, the homeless, you know, the people that need it the most. The homeless veteran that hasnt filed tax returns in years because they are disabled and have been abandoned by the government they served to protect. The single mother on welfare that has not worked in years, that was abandoned by the father of their children, who cannot find a job that pays as much as it would cost for daycare alone. The people that have not worked for years that provided full time health care for a loved one because they could not afford assisted living. The disabled people on welfare that have been sucked into the seemingly unending cycle of trying to get assistance from the same Disability that they paid into their entire life. I know, I know. Here is where people start making childish insults about people on welfare and disability and people that could not work for one extremely valid reason or another. The fact is not everyone on public assistance is a freeloader. People that are suffering the most on severely limited fixed income while facing the same pandemic price gouging as everyone else. I can name a dozen Gulf and Vietnam war veterans right now staying in roach motels, trying to survive on their $600 a month pension, that have not been able to work for years now, are not drug addicts or alcoholics, yet I have not seen anything about them getting any assistance. But what the heck, lets give the cruise ship industry tens of millions of dollars because rich people dont want to risk being trapped on a luxury cruise with the virus.
@Rob I know EXACTLY what I am talking about. I spent two years myself homeless. Sleeping in alleys and makeshift shelters in the woods. Eating out or garbages. I met many that prefered being homeless, and many that wanted help but could not get it. I went from a six figure salary, a 5 bedroom house with wife and kids, to losing it all virtually over night with the dot-com-bomb that affected all tech companies. I also crawled and fought my way back from the brink of nearly jumping off a bridge. I busted my ass day in and day out, working 10-12+ hours a day 7 days a week, my off hours spent sleeping a half hour here and there while helping my disabled mother, until she suffered two cases of sepsis in rapid succession, lost her right leg and suffered brain damage. She required full time care and I could not afford assisted living, so I had to move her in with me, work random contracts whenever I could while caring for her, trying to survive for the both of us on her miniscule disability because I refused to use welfare unless it ever became necessary. I took care of her full time until she passed away this past October. During that time I had 5 heart attacks and a spine injury that surgery did not resolve. Still I did not use welfare. I took so much damage from the heart attacks that my left arm is all but useless for anything more than a pound or two. My heart took so much damage I can not get my heart rate up at all or risk total heart failure. Still, I do not use welfare. I have 4 doctors that have all signed off on me being 100% disabled, yet I did not apply for disability until after she passed away, and I am now stuck in the limbo of waiting to get approved, I survive by the skin of my ass doing random contracts fixing website bugs, consulting on software design projects, making custom knives, and the ridiculously low ad revenue I get from TH-cam for my videos, anything to earn enough to rent a tiny room and live on oatmeal. I do not drink. I am not a drug addict. Yet here I am, nothing in the stimulus says anything about helping me, the economy is mostly at a stand still so there is no little contracts for me to do. I am very well versed in the 'Life Sucks' department. Just because you are as well, doesnt give you the right to damn all homeless and poor people just because some may choose the life. Should all school teachers be barred from getting help just because some are undoubtedly alcoholics and drug users?

WhenvI worked at Xerox as an Senior Embedded Software Engineering Manager, we had extra wide business cards, I shelled out over $30k a year in taxes alone. I did not want to waste resources that could have been used to help someone worse off, BECAUSE I lived *my* worse case scenario, I know there are people suffering more. I dont know about where you live, but I am in Rochester NY. Most if our homeless did not choose the life. We are a city built on a select few corporations, Kodak, Xerox, Bausch & Lomb, and when those companies suffer, most of the population here suffers. Our winters see -30 degree days and storms that drop 4 feet of snow overnight. We have less than 2% shelter beds to overall homeless population. Most do not choose to live in a literal cardboard box with that kind of weather for 1/3rd of every year. Yes, I agree that by and large, many homeless across the country choose the life. I get that. But it is not the same everywhere.
@Rob I guess I have not hit that stage. I live in the most violent, drug riddled neighborhood in Rochester, but I am also hood raised, so I earned the respect of many. They do not bother me. I have met plenty that abused the system, traded stolen meals for dope, etc. But my life was also saved many times by fellow homeless people when I was living at rock bottom. I had a good deal of time where I didnt care if I lived, died, and spent the rest of my life as permanent guest out at Auburn Pen, sitting in a 23 and 1 cell for the rest of my life. I have had them stand in front of a gun and a knife to defend me, and take the same from my own hands to save me. In my minds eye, I feel compelled to stand up for those just trying to survive. I was only able to pull myself up by kissing a lot of ass at a local trailer park until they made me the fulltime handyman and I earned my own mobile home, before my own health went to hell, which I lived in till my mother passed, then I lost everything again. The only difference is this time I had a friend with a room for rent that is very patient with my random, but always in full, monthly payments until disability kicks in. The stimulus would damn sure help me a whole lot, I quite literally have been living on oatmeal almost exclusively since October.

I've been hearing that if you filed jointly but only one name is on the bank acct..they won't be depositing the check..both names have to be on the acct..even though yr joint tax return was deposited into that acct with only one name on the acct...god that will suck..

WASHINGTON - The U.S. Department of the Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service today announced that Social Security beneficiaries who are not typically required to file tax returns will not need to file an abbreviated tax return to receive an Economic Impact Payment. Instead, payments will be automatically deposited into their bank accounts.
“Social Security recipients who are not typically required to file a tax return do not to need take an action, and will receive their payment directly to their bank account,” said Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin.
The IRS will use the information on the Form SSA-1099 and Form RRB-1099 to generate $1,200 Economic Impact Payments to Social Security recipients who did not file tax returns in 2018 or 2019. Recipients will receive these payments as a direct deposit or by paper check, just as they would normally receive their benefits.

Julio Tomas if u already filed your 2019 taxes and have direct deposit, your check will be here in about a week and a half to two weeks. If you haven’t filed your 2019 taxes or don’t have direct deposit, you will get a paper check that will take 3-4 weeks.

If they the money wasn't sent to the dept of education on or after March 6th they're return refunds to people. Call the DOE and check it out.

Starting March 13th, for 60 days, the department of education suspended tax offsets. If they already took it before then, I doubt you can get that money back unfortunately.

Because the normal time frame for a standard return is within 21 days (three weeks). Meaning that it could come anywhere from a few days to a couple weeks.....
However if additional paperwork is filed (not just a standard return) such as injured spouse. It takes up to 11 weeks to get return according to the IRS website.....
But if the stimulus goes by first one's who filed. Mine was filed January 28th......

But must have filed within those two years and were under the limit. 2019 people who filed of course will get theirs first but eventually the 2018 will also get theirs. For people saying if you pay back taxes cause you’re self employed or work for Lyft/ Uber etc. you will still get a check.

I talked with the person who does my taxes and did not file my 2019 yet because I can't pay her to do them yet. However, I did do my 2018 and nothing has changed between 2018 and 2019 taxes at all. She told me that from all the info she has that as long as your 2018 or 2019 taxes were filed by now that you will get direct deposit (if you used to bank account for direct deposit in 2018 or if you got your 2019 already submitted). So either way I qualify. She said no one is sure how fast the payments will go out, but all she can confirm is if they have your bank account info... you will get it before anyone who has to get paper checks will. Social Security people have to do direct deposit... S.S.A. had stopped sending out paper checks about two or so years ago. So Social Security People will get them just the same as those who filed in 2018 and/or 2019 already and used the bank account for direct deposits.

What I cant find is information for the poor, the homeless, you know, the people that need it the most. The homeless veteran that hasnt filed tax returns in years because they are disabled and have been abandoned by the government they served to protect. The single mother on welfare that has not worked in years, that was abandoned by the father of their children, who cannot find a job that pays as much as it would cost for daycare alone. The people that have not worked for years that provided full time health care for a loved one because they could not afford assisted living. The disabled people on welfare that have been sucked into the seemingly unending cycle of trying to get assistance from the same Disability that they paid into their entire life.
I know, I know. Here is where people start making childish insults about people on welfare and disability and people that could not work for one extremely valid reason or another. The fact is not everyone on public assistance is a freeloader. People that are suffering the most on severely limited fixed income while facing the same pandemic price gouging as everyone else. I can name a dozen Gulf and Vietnam war veterans right now staying in roach motels, trying to survive on their $600 a month pension, that have not been able to work for years now, are not drug addicts or alcoholics, yet I have not seen anything about them getting any assistance. But what the heck, lets give the cruise ship industry tens of millions of dollars because rich people dont want to risk being trapped on a luxury cruise with the virus.
@Rob I know EXACTLY what I am talking about. I spent two years myself homeless. Sleeping in alleys and makeshift shelters in the woods. Eating out or garbages. I met many that prefered being homeless, and many that wanted help but could not get it. I went from a six figure salary, a 5 bedroom house with wife and kids, to losing it all virtually over night with the dot-com-bomb that affected all tech companies. I also crawled and fought my way back from the brink of nearly jumping off a bridge. I busted my ass day in and day out, working 10-12+ hours a day 7 days a week, my off hours spent sleeping a half hour here and there while helping my disabled mother, until she suffered two cases of sepsis in rapid succession, lost her right leg and suffered brain damage. She required full time care and I could not afford assisted living, so I had to move her in with me, work random contracts whenever I could while caring for her, trying to survive for the both of us on her miniscule disability because I refused to use welfare unless it ever became necessary. I took care of her full time until she passed away this past October. During that time I had 5 heart attacks and a spine injury that surgery did not resolve. Still I did not use welfare. I took so much damage from the heart attacks that my left arm is all but useless for anything more than a pound or two. My heart took so much damage I can not get my heart rate up at all or risk total heart failure. Still, I do not use welfare. I have 4 doctors that have all signed off on me being 100% disabled, yet I did not apply for disability until after she passed away, and I am now stuck in the limbo of waiting to get approved, I survive by the skin of my ass doing random contracts fixing website bugs, consulting on software design projects, making custom knives, and the ridiculously low ad revenue I get from TH-cam for my videos, anything to earn enough to rent a tiny room and live on oatmeal. I do not drink. I am not a drug addict. Yet here I am, nothing in the stimulus says anything about helping me, the economy is mostly at a stand still so there is no little contracts for me to do. I am very well versed in the 'Life Sucks' department. Just because you are as well, doesnt give you the right to damn all homeless and poor people just because some may choose the life. Should all school teachers be barred from getting help just because some are undoubtedly alcoholics and drug users?

@Rob I am not lying, I ran the streets, got into all sorts of trouble, criminal records are all a matter of public record. I have nothing to hide. Feel free to look up my mothers Obit, Patricia E King, Rochester NY Democrat & Chronicle. I have plenty of trolls that have gone out of their way to 'expose' me, posted my records, of which I never hid or denied in the first place, all over Discord. My channel is, or rather was about police accountability and amendment based activism, until it turned to a shit show and the movement, as it were, became overrun by wannabe youtubers that go out and piss off cops for clicks. The money I got from TH-cam was so low, under $2,000, that it doesnt even register on the tax filing radar. TH-cam keeps 30% of SuperChats and 40% of ad revenue, and they do not pay out unless you have accrued atleast $100 ... I am lucky to get paid every 2 to 3 months, most of what I did get, I got courtesy of SuperChats from loyal viewers.
I am not stubborn, I have worked since I was 14 and always took care of myself. WhenvI worked at Xerox as an Senior Embedded Software Engineering Manager, we had extra wide business cards, I shelled out over $30k a year in taxes alone. I did not want to waste resources that could have been used to help someone worse off, BECAUSE I lived *my* worse case scenario, I know there are people suffering more.
I dont know about where you live, but I am in Rochester NY. Most if our homeless did not choose the life. We are a city built on a select few corporations, Kodak, Xerox, Bausch & Lomb, and when those companies suffer, most of the population here suffers. Our winters see -30 degree days and storms that drop 4 feet of snow overnight. We have less than 2% shelter beds to overall homeless population. Most do not choose to live in a literal cardboard box with that kind of weather for 1/3rd of every year. Yes, I agree that by and large, many homeless across the country choose the life. I get that. But it is not the same everywhere.
@Rob I guess I have not hit that stage. I live in the most violent, drug riddled neighborhood in Rochester, but I am also hood raised, so I earned the respect of many. They do not bother me. I have met plenty that abused the system, traded stolen meals for dope, etc. But my life was also saved many times by fellow homeless people when I was living at rock bottom. I had a good deal of time where I didnt care if I lived, died, and spent the rest of my life as permanent guest out at Auburn Pen, sitting in a 23 and 1 cell for the rest of my life. I have had them stand in front of a gun and a knife to defend me, and take the same from my own hands to save me. In my minds eye, I feel compelled to stand up for those just trying to survive. I was only able to pull myself up by kissing a lot of ass at a local trailer park until they made me the fulltime handyman and I earned my own mobile home, before my own health went to hell, which I lived in till my mother passed, then I lost everything again. The only difference is this time I had a friend with a room for rent that is very patient with my random, but always in full, monthly payments until disability kicks in. The stimulus would damn sure help me a whole lot, I quite literally have been living on oatmeal almost exclusively since October.

I've been hearing that if you filed jointly but only one name is on the bank acct..they won't be depositing the check..both names have to be on the acct..even though yr joint tax return was deposited into that acct with only one name on the acct...god that will suck..
@@Shamil1992 long as you filed your taxes this year and i believe last year and your taxes were direct deposited you don't have to do anything it will automatically be deposited
