I’m grateful I was one who’s job was not affected by covid. It just hurts a little knowing that the government is really thinking of giving out “bonuses” to incentivize the unemployed to return to work. Meanwhile there’s people who haven’t stopped working in the first place, being at high risk on a daily basis and haven’t received any type of bonuses or temporary pay increase. At least my job has been giving us a free sandwich and drink every shift as a “thanks for coming and risking your health and those in your household even if our state is under emergency lock down.”
Just rest easy knowing that your taxes have helped and will continue to help them... and that our taxes will likely be raised when all of this is over. Just to cover, you know, taxes.
19 year old working at Walmart, making less than people on unemployment and receiving zero stimulus due to being a dependent under my parents because my full time income doesn't allow me to move out and be dependent. I'm sure I speak for most people in my position, it is very demoralizing and makes us question why we should even bother.
They should cut federal taxes since they dont need to pay for some of the security, amenities and travel for politicians and government workers that are working from home.
I think if they do the tax reduction and the $450 they should also include them. It doesn’t make a lot of sense not to do it in the first place. Sure it’s cost more to do so, but that money would most likely be going back into the economy with little being horded I would think. If they don’t include them, I would definitely like to see them giving them an incentive of some sort.
When can I schedule a informational interview? I'd love to tap your advice. A little about my story, I bought my first townhouse at 24, 14 months later I sold. I sold because I couldn't rent long term with the association rules, however it's not all bad. I used a first time home buyers program where I lived and only had to put down $3800, making the sellers pay all closing cost, and getting the state to give me a 0% 8k loan for the down payment. $3800 was earnest money (1k), and about $2800 in fees, etc. While fast forward to today... I sold the place myself (saving $9,600 before fees and capital gains), I made $8,900 off rent and $9,000 of appreciation and equity, so I walked away with about 15k off a 4k investment in 14 months. Now I bought a 4 bedroom I can rent for $550 a room, and live in one also. The rent is $1650 and mortgage only $1480. Best part? (Besides the 3.25% interest rate) I only had to put 3% down, so now I am left with money for ANOTHER cash flowing 4 bedroom in the same neighborhood. Thank you for all your videos. I'd love to get some 1:1 advice for how to navigate the next 12 months, and how to most efficiently take advantage of my good luck. I don't make a lot of money, just save and invest. Thanks.
kattttt Government failing to give money that it promised people after forcefully putting them out of work is the failure of capitalism? Interesting perspective.
I'm assuming this is based on if the pandemic settles or we decide to just learn to live with covid. Because being locked down forever won't help things either.
I worked through the entire pandemic. I could have made 200 a week more if I was unemployed. Now they want to give those people not working an extra 450 to return to work? What about the people actually running the economy during the pandemic. We get screwed just like always
Its crazy that critical workers like you and my fiance and many more haven't seen any extra bonus or compensation for working during the shutdown... I don't even see the topic being discussed much, its sad
@Benjamin Do I'm one of those people and trust me, I'm really trying to find a job but the job market still isn't stable enough and a lot of employers are being very picky because they're uncertain about where their company might be in a month
This is why the direct stimulus checks is the best solution to the problem, all the other ideas are just less ideal. The unemployed would get paychecks to cover their loss of work, and the essential workers get a bonus paycheck and the people working from home will get some vacation funds to spend on tourism. It's amazing how all of the complex plans focused on a single things are less efficient than the direct stimulus.
As a nurse I’m thankful to have a job that allows me to work through the pandemic, but honestly it leaves a bad taste in my mouth about healthcare when I haven’t received a dime in hazard pay.
Another stimulus package to everyone except for college/ university students who are claimed as dependents yay😑😑. But wait there’s more those who are working arnt even making as much and people who are on unemployment how lovely 😑😑 there’s so many downsides and I don’t even see the point. I’d like to see some sort of bonus fo front line workers and those essential workers who never stopped working. Because it’s not fair to them to not get anything working long hours and risking their lives. They are owed something
I was out a month at the beginning of this and then was forced to come back or lose my job. We were classified as essential but ended up having cases every week. We had a small hazard pay bonus then it was cut off. They need to come up with a bonus for ppl who never stopped working.

Oh no, don’t you remember ? The House went on vacation earlier this year when the Senate was trying to work out the very first stimulus package. Yeah, Senate was working on a package and Pelosi was busy at home showing the country her $25,000 fridge and her ice cream collection.
Wouldn't recommend bitcoin. Everyone thinks that bitcoin will go up when the dollar goes down but that has not proved to be true. Gold, is the original crypto currency and some advise buying it to hedge against a deflating dollar. That however, also proves to be untrue throughout history.
cuddles lley Also, what would be the purpose of destroying the economy with a fake pandemic? Do you believe it’s to setup the new world order or something?
Can essential workers get something for working during the pandemic? I know people who made more money sitting on their ass all day and contributing nothing to the economy while there are people working to keep everything running. I know if I get fired, I would be making more being unproductive than actually working.

Personally knowing people around me that are bringing home more money each week not working than I am while working everyday is awesome. Definitely hope we give those going back to work even more money cause not getting anything from this the first time was lit (as the kids say).
I'm still working and have been since this all started. I'm not sure why we are paying people who aren't working MORE than what they were making at their job. What about all of us who have been on the frontlines?

hey graham! i’m a server/bartender working in nashville, tennessee. i was furloughed during quarantine for a little over 2 months. coming back to work, we were granted a generous hourly wage which was supported by the PPP grant/loan, and a 20% service fee on every bill that ultimately went back to the company in order to assist in our hourly wage. we also made additional tips (if guests wished to tip in addition to the 20% service fee). the company said the hourly rate would remain in effect until the end of the 4 phases, however we have now reverted back a phase, & the structure has now changed to a tip pool throughout the server/ bartending teams. none of the restaurants in the group have been profitable, but ours has been the highest performing. in terms of discussion of pay, what is reasonable to ask of an employer at this time when they say the hourly rate “isn’t sustainable”, but “the company isn’t close to going out of business”. i’m wanting mobility within this group, so i’m not trying to throw them under the bus by any means, but i’m also trying to survive economically. btw, minimum wage for servers & bartenders is $2.13/hr in the state of tennessee. thank you so much for your videos!
Would love to see more content on stimulus bills as they pass! It's a lot to sort through and it's helpful to get other people's takes to make sure I don't miss anything important..

Funny how as first responder we got nothing no hazard pay no incentive and a continuation of rising cases. Ohh wait I actually have been getting mandated to come into work on my days off with no incentive too because the cases are getting so high my county it is so busy they need more people working. The hospitals are full and now I’m taking care of positive patients every single day. While others are sitting at home making double what I do and are going to get paid to come to work at a low risk job that’s just so great 😊👍🏼.
I've said, and still do, that the stimulus checks should NOT be tied to any other stimulus package. Vote on direct stimulus money and everything else separately. Also, those without jobs before COVID-19 hit and those on Social Security, disability, railroad, etc. should most definitely get the help. Plus, they need to re-up the Food Stamps for the foreseeable future.
People on disability are not greatly impacted by COVID-19. Those checks are still coming. Meanwhile, I got cut to 32 hours a week (lost 24% of my salary) while simultaneously being told I had to work in 3 different cities over an hour from home to cover for other people who quit. My expenses went up, and my compensation went down. People on disability still got their normal benefit amount and weren't supposed to be traveling anyway. I couldn't get any recovery on the lost income because the state still considered me working full time. While I am playing catch-up and barely able to eat, I know people who are having a blast! They are free from work and have bought grills, game consoles, TV's, furniture, CARS! Want to talk about being demoralized? I fucking hate 2020. I will make less money than last year, will have spent more, and will have no savings at the end of it. Essential workers got screwed!

Love how the people who got laid off get extras. But never the ones who worked the whole time. The ones who took chances of being in contact with others at a higher rate.
That's not how it works though, structurally. It's a pay it forward system where you are currently paying for the elderly, and then the next generation is going to be paying for you when you're old/disabled, etc.
@@heididuncan601 actually, no. Those are where more and more people must join and the top people get the most $ by making false promises. There's no pay it forward in a pyramid scheme/ponzi scheme/MLM.

For the broader economy, I think the infrastructure spending is the most important thing. The other stuff might be important for those who need the immediate-term help, but in terms of the economic recovery, you can only do so much by simply reshuffling the chairs. The real way to reduce unemployment is to actually employ actual people to do actual things.
What the government is doing makes no sense. We need manufacturing jobs and we need them like yesterday. We need to give stimulus money only to those that need it, and $1200 is a slap in the face, kick in the ⚾⚽, I bet Trump and the Republican cronies and hatchetmen think that $1200 should cover a rent payment for 6 months. Also, just because you make $150,000 a year or $50,000 a year or $500,000 a year has no bearing on if you're currently broke. Stimulus should be NEED BASED, not INCOME BASED. There are ways to figure out who should get the money and who shouldn't, for example, if you're one of the many getting $350/week from SUI and another $600/week from the federal aid package as unemployment extension, and you're making more money today than before you were unemployed... Why are you getting a $1200 stimulus check again?? Then they send out checks to deceased people who definitely don't need the money. 🤦🏻♂️ This is a joke, it's a hot mess and an embarrassment.

What about recent college grads who were claimed as a dependent on their parents ' tax return and didn't benefit from the last round of stimulus checks?
Yep, I'm lucky I managed to snag a job 3 months before covid hit, so I'm getting the 600. I'm not keeping it since it's all going to my student loan debt T-T
Something needs to be done for the workers who have been forced to work this entire time while part time workers on unemployment make $400 more a week than them. This is the part that's BS
It's funny how detached from the reality some politicians are. Sure, obviously, if $600 bonus exceeds your previous income, you won't have much motivation to work. But as a middle class income earner, I'm making less than before including the $600 bonus and I'm constantly looking for a job. It's not like recruiters are getting back and I'm not accepting offers. I can't even get interviews that I'd before. The job market is simply very competitive. Why can't have a middle ground where the federal government brings the income up to a certain percentage of previous income such as 80%, so people have more than the inadequate state unemployment income but still make less than what they would working?
Because that would’ve taken too long and people needed money immediately. And they purposely set it high at $600 so that people WOULDNt go back to work. It was an incentive for people to stay home and be safe.
When he said that the people who received the first check would most likely get a second: Guess nothing for me again. 😐 Nothing for being a citizen and nothing for being an essential worker. Unfortunately, because I’m a citizen who married an immigrant, I get nothing even though we’re already in the process to petition him.
I’m an ex-immigrant double citizen who married an immigrant that’s not yet an aspiring ex-immigrant (double) citizen, and I’m waiting for, yet still skeptical about anybody ever getting, or receiving, that second check.
I actually love the travel proposal. Even if the people traveling are most likely the people that don’t need it. If their dollars spent on traveling can help the people that work in the travel industry, hospitality, restaurants, etc. Why not?
Seems like the only people who aren't going to be able to travel would be those who were able to keep their jobs, but maybe with reduced hours. Everyone on unemployment it seems have been living it up since they're making a lot more than they normally would. (Not everyone of course)
My mom lost her job during this whole thing, with unemployment she was making more than enough to cover all bills. Florida started reopening, they called her back to work, with reduced pay (minimum wage) and no tips, which is how she made most of her income. She went from making tripled in unemployment to making only like $1000 a month going back to work..
I would gladly go back to work and my regular weekly 2500-3500$ a week ive been earning for years. If you think 875 at 600 fed and 275 state is enough to survive in Miami, you clearly dont live in a bigger city...
REALLY? Unemployment people have been "living it up"? You call being able to pay one's bills and put food on the table as "living it up"? Guess what dumbass... what do you think the top 1% and corporations have done? They are the REAL ONES "LIVING IT UP"! They are the ones who STOLE Trillions OF OUR TAX DOLLARS, when they were already Million and Billion dollar companies and had their own money to be able to pay all their bills, but still took ALL of the CARES ACT money because they didn't want to dip into their own bank accounts to sustain their perpetual debts from running their own businesses. Getting $600/week DOESN'T allow someone to "live it up", it just allows people who have been struggling financially because of the financial system screwing them over with high cost of living, to finally be able to get their heads above water and god forbid, allow them to be able to put some money aside for emergencies. You think getting $2000, $4000, $6000 a month is "living it up" or "a lot of money"? If so then you're an idiot! Can you buy a house, pay for it IN FULL (with no mortgage) on getting $2000. $4000 or even $6000/mo? NO! But guess what ALL those top 1% rich and corporations who stole Trillions from us.. THEY CAN BUY A HOUSE, PAY FOR IT IN FULL! And I'm talking MILLION DOLLAR HOMES! SO keep your perspective in check! Remember, if it wasn't for establishments raising the cost of living on EVERYTHING in this country, people wouldn't need the help they need today. Remember there was a time when a person could buy a brand new car for $2000, a carton of eggs for $0.25, a 3 bed 2 bath house for only $30,000! That's not possible today and there's a reason for that. So stop thinking that people who lost their jobs (OF NO FAULT OF THEIR OWN) "WANT" to be unemployed because they don't! And don't think just because they are getting the money they need means they are out there "living it up" because they're not. Most if not all are using the money to pay their bills, buy the goods their families need and put food on the table. They're not using that money to go on expensive vacations, go on expensive clothes shopping sprees, buying fancy cars and trying to live like a music mogul! THEY'RE NOT LIVING IT UP off that money! But the top 1% who stole our Trillions of dollars, ARE living it up!
@@Ocean-Grown I don't live in a city as big as Miami, but I also don't live in a small city by any means. @@berniecruz8405 Firstly you need to relax, because trying to offend and shouting doesn't make your point correct Now $2,000, $4,000, or even $6,000 a month may not sound like a lot to you, but it's a lot more than what a lot of people make so yes it can be considered a lot of money I'm sorry but as for myself I do not remember a time when it was that cheap because I wasn't alive to witness it, but logically I can make a safe bet that wages also weren't what they were today. So it's not like with a month's check they could pay off all of that you mentioned And again, from my personal opinion and from what I see, as I am struggling since I was lucky enough to stay healthy and keep my job, which I am glad to, I do see people whom have been able to not only pay their bills, put food on the table, but go out and little nice vacations, buy expensive clothing, and do anything else that you mentioned and claim NO ONE else is doing at these times. I'm glad they were helped financially, but it was a comparison that I had, and from what I see, others had as well

Who then pays taxes, and then pays $8 dollars towards their rent. The landlord pays taxes and then uses the remaining $5 to a contractor to fix the roof. Who then pays taxes and goes back to the restaurant with $3." Meanwhile congress has $7 in their vacation fund. 😂

Frontline workers and essential workers need hazard benefits and more than applause at 7:00 PM

Yesssss! I'm tired and stressed out
I think if they do the tax reduction and the $450 they should also include them.
Thanks.
The fact that it's taking this long for a 2nd stimulus is beyond ridiculous. Let alone that some people haven't even received the first one yet.

You take your family to a vacation cabin in a remote area, and you're just surrounded by nature
I'm assuming this is based on if the pandemic settles or we decide to just learn to live with covid. Because being locked down forever won't help things either.
Andy Rosebrook That’s a good idea. If people took that approach then that solves for a lot and puts money back in circulation.
I worked through the entire pandemic. I could have made 200 a week more if I was unemployed. Now they want to give those people not working an extra 450 to return to work? What about the people actually running the economy during the pandemic. We get screwed just like always
I’m a healthcare worker and I work with Covid patients and just want some sort of hazard pay for doing so...doesn’t seem like too much to ask for.
Its crazy that critical workers like you and my fiance and many more haven't seen any extra bonus or compensation for working during the shutdown... I don't even see the topic being discussed much, its sad
All first responders and essential workers should receive hazard pay for risking their lives everyday for the rest of us who can safely quarantine!
It's amazing how all of the complex plans focused on a single things are less efficient than the direct stimulus.
i know people working getting hazard pay for having to work in regular trade crafts...i would think it would be automatic for healthcare workers wtf
Other finance channels: Stimulus update, stimulus update, stimulus update
Graham: It’s been a while since I dropped a stimulus video
I’ve unsubscribed to around three channels that stopped being financial advice and started being channels who bait people hoping for stimulus.
Yeah, me too..And I still haven’t received that damn check yet!
Something needs to be done for the workers who have been forced to work this entire time while part time workers on unemployment make $400 more a week than them. This is the part that's BS
Be mad at the gov for leaving essential workers out in the cold, not other people who are struggling.
There's a middle class ?
Because that would’ve taken too long and people needed money immediately. And they purposely set it high at $600 so that people WOULDNt go back to work. It was an incentive for people to stay home and be safe.
good luck because the ones who are working are making bank now, it's almost a game of haves and have nots. Nothing good ever happens on the couch.
When he said that the people who received the first check would most likely get a second: Guess nothing for me again. 😐
Nothing for being a citizen and nothing for being an essential worker.
Unfortunately, because I’m a citizen who married an immigrant, I get nothing even though we’re already in the process to petition him.
I was born and raised here. No stimulus for me.
I pray things become easier for you
I’m an ex-immigrant double citizen who married an immigrant that’s not yet an aspiring ex-immigrant (double) citizen, and I’m waiting for, yet still skeptical about anybody ever getting, or receiving, that second check.
Boo hoo
I did also say in parenthesis "(Not everyone of course)" I'm sure it isn't enough for some but from my person experience many people are living it up across the country and don't want to go back to work cause the checks are a lot better
@@berniecruz8405 Firstly you need to relax, because trying to offend and shouting doesn't make your point correct
Now $2,000, $4,000, or even $6,000 a month may not sound like a lot to you, but it's a lot more than what a lot of people make so yes it can be considered a lot of money
I'm sorry but as for myself I do not remember a time when it was that cheap because I wasn't alive to witness it, but logically I can make a safe bet that wages also weren't what they were today. So it's not like with a month's check they could pay off all of that you mentioned
And again, from my personal opinion and from what I see, as I am struggling since I was lucky enough to stay healthy and keep my job, which I am glad to, I do see people whom have been able to not only pay their bills, put food on the table, but go out and little nice vacations, buy expensive clothing, and do anything else that you mentioned and claim NO ONE else is doing at these times. I'm glad they were helped financially, but it was a comparison that I had, and from what I see, others had as well
Insert clip of guy saying “tell them to bring me my money”
Hahah
You’re such a breath of fresh air. I know I can come here if information starts getting jumbled . Thank you! :)
5:20 what I heard was "I pay $10 to the restaurant. They pay that $10 to the server. 😂
😲🙃🤔
"WE DEFEATED THE WRONG ENEMY!" Now we are paying the price
Trump is secretly a nat soc in denial.
Uh hello based department
I still haven't gotten my first one. The IRS has closed all lines of communication about this issue, so I'll probably never get it.
.
It's a real shame citizens can't do to the IRS what the IRS does to them. They owe me some goddamn money.
Angolin same! Says it was mailed 8 weeks ago but never arrived. Haven’t been able to get in touch w the IRS
Graham makes Financial advice so easy even my TH-cam Dog can do it ! Dude is like the money whisperer.
They couldn’t decide on a bill before they started playing around? It’s literally their job
Really appreciate your hard work putting necessary information for us all clearly! Also appreciate not including some random music/intro videos that doesn’t really add value to the viewers. A solid info packed channel deserves more smash of that like button!
Since healthcare workers are supposed to settle for being called "Heroes" from the hospital administration: I'll gladly take another stimulus and consider it my hazard pay.
