I have a 1984 LTD police interceptor 5.0 w/aod trans. It's got all power everything! The only downside is that it doesn't run. I've had it for 2 years, and have a total of less than 3 hours of drive time. It's been in three different shops and no one can figure out the electrical(?) issue. I paid $2700 for the car (that was supposed to be a running vehicle), and since then have dumped over $2000 into it with ZERO results! My dream car is a paperweight in my driveway. sad face.
I'm looking forward to watch this car come back to life. Its just too good to junk out. I know you will have some fun with it and make it a good driver again.
If I wasn't worried about a budget, I'd love to put a Fi-Tech (they even have a 2bbl version now) EFI on my Fairmont. Maybe this would be a good candidate for such! I guess honestly I hadn't known about the CFI for this era. I'm going to enjoy this build!
The 8 hole wheels were an option for the ltd lx. They normally came with even worse wheels than those. But, ponys look good on these cars. Just about any mustang wheel looks good on these cars
Anything from 1985 looks old. 1986 and newer had fuel injection and looked way more modern . This pos almost looks identical to an 85 Celebrity. The New 86 Taurus was ahead of it's time compared to this turd
Nice...got a brown pile myself....and a crossmember for the 460....one day ...
I love it man and love the "other foxbodys" on my channel i drag race a ford fairmont
I subbed to your channel and look forward to your videos
Hood scoop looks like the ones I've seen on 2.3 Turbo cars.

Jesse's Channel where are you located?
@@ratrod76 I live in Charlestown Indiana. About 40 minutes from Louisville KY.
The hood scoop appears to be the 79 Indy Mustang edition.
Don’t think so. I also own a 79 Pacecar and it is different.

Can't wait to see more! Looking to pick one up myself
Nice car to save. Looking forward to updates.

Is this the same dashboard the 83-84 Thunderbirds had? Looks to be!
That hood scoop reminds me of the ones Ford put on the somewhat rare carbureted turbo 2.3 Fairmonts and Zephyrs.

Cool car! You might want to save those 8 hole rims. They could be original to the car.
I'd own the car and then fix the cfi with. A Holley sniper unit
The guy I sold it to replaced the in tank pump and then it ran great
