Hey brother, I'm 40 now, herniated my disc at 39. Been a year.
I can't perform pull-ups, push-ups, dips, jump rope or jog. Even pace walking for more than 30 minutes shows signs, minor signs of pain. I tried swimming and felt the strain after 4 consecutive laps.
The only thing that I can do is cycle (surprisingly) and that too a hybrid bike with an upright position, not a road bike where one is bent super low.
That's it. I don't know if this will ever heal but take your own sweet time for it to heal man. Stay away from sports and explosive movements. You have your life ahead of you. Heal slow, heal solid.
Wishing you the best in your journey back to recovery.

Please stay away from ESI’s with Depo Medrol no matter what your doctor says… they’re not FDA approved for safety nor efficacy … wrecked my life
