    Even games like assassins creed made her look like a witch, a murderess, a wicked soul. Only to find that she was an unlucky woman who was a victim of history. My respect goes out to her for she suffered an unfortunate destiny

      During the witch hunts across Europe, too many innocent people were executed for witchcraft. The most popular kind of accusations was there was a limit to how innocent a woman could be. Apparently there was such a thing as being too pious.

      @fiachramaccana280 2 ปีที่แล้ว +79

      @@mdstanton1813 sure. but the contemporary evidence suggests she was a elegant; smart and very decent lady used as a marriage pawn by her family.
      In later life renowned poets paid court to her as did gallants such as the Chevalier du Bayard and Gaston de Foix. This was in 1505-1512 when she was long married to the Duke of Ferrara and the last survivor of her notorious family.
      In other words there was zero political reason to pay particular court to her. She was middle aged and a mother at that stage. It was only her personal reputation that drew them.
      Had she been scandalised she would have been put aside and sent to a convent. Instead she was revered. Thats 100% down to her.

In reality she was a beautiful leader the princess of Vatican, a writer and a very devout Christian ✝️ and a victim of her father political ambition. Keep in mind, there are plenty of paintings we use today for historic figures that might not have been accurate at all. Some of these images were painted long after their death by artists who either just made up what they looked like, or were pretty bad at their job. Shakespeare's famous portrait was done after his death by a guy said to draw everyone's faces the same. There are also plenty of random portraits we use that were inaccurately attributed to the historic figure, whether to increase the portraits value or by historians who just made their best guess. The famous Christopher Columbus painting is one of these, and the self portrait people use for Da Vinic might not have actually been a self portrait at all. Then there's the "photoshoppers" who will either have their original painter paint them in a more favorable light or past restorers who decide to paint over the portrait to fit their own beauty standards. There's a popular TH-cam video of an art restorer who basically finds an entirely different face under all the restoration work a victorian restorer did.

      He faked their birth records originally because he wasn’t allowed to have kids but when he got more power he legitimized them as his children. You can fake birth certificates easily when you have power.

    Lucretia Borja was the only daughter of a Pope, Rodrigo Borja, later Pope Alexander VI, and his lover, Vannozza Cattanei. She was sister of Cesar, José and Joffré Borja and became part of her father's political schemes. But, in spite of her bad reputation (still to be historically proven), she rose above and became patron of the arts ⭐⭐⭐ Forever
