@@SurprisedBigWaterfall-wn1pv Arachne was being impious and was showing blatant disrespect to Athena. That's not trivial. Neither is being cheated on. Now, the thing about all of these stories is that they are actually metaphorical and are meant to teach religious mysteries. They're not actually reflective of what the Gods are like. These stories would have made more sense in their ritual contexts. For instance, Hera's antagonism of Herakles ultimately leads to His apotheosis. There's a divine mystery behind that

For the Medusa stories, I read from a comment from a video that as Athena is full of Wisdom she makes crazy plans, actions, etc that SEEMS CRAZY OR UNFAIR in our perspective but to Athena’s Perspective it was a wise decision. Like how we don’t understand things til much later. Hope it sums it up and maybe see some opinions etc. (It was a while ago so it’s not as vivid as. I remember)

The Medusa stories where she was turned into a monster were created by a Roman poet who was criticizing authority by making the gods look bad. Originally Medusa was always a monster.

Another version of the Arachne story is that she offended the gods so, Athena turned her into a spider, so that she will weave beautiful spider webs that will be wiped away by people. Meaning they won't matter. And Arachnophobia is a fear of spiders.

Yeah I’m not a huge fan of ovids versions of mythology, it often makes many of the most revered gods look horrible, in the story of Athena’s birth I know Zeus and Métis were in love and planned to marry before he even won the war then after winning and zeus hearing the prophecy they were playing a game together and she turned into a fly to try to win and he ate her to prevent the prophecy then later after Athena came out of zeus Métis decided to stay inside of him to keep him forever wise and to always be a good king. In the true stories there always mysteries to be contemplated while in ovids the only point is “gods are cruellll”

Ovid wrote at a time when people actually believed in the Gods and knew Their stories the proper way.

It wasn't Gaia that told him about the son that would overthrow him, it was the fates that told him. He married Medis off to a mortal man and they produced Achilles, whom she dipped in the river Styx holding him by his heal to make him invulnerable.

These comment actually make sense, given that Athena is the most just among the Gods and Goddesses.
I can somewhat understand the Roman versions though, Zeus having affairs with other women and doing things in a prideful paternal image tend to make Athena seem more like her father. As the saying goes, "Like father like son/daughter". We can't also deny what Kronos and Zeus did to their children so it seem, these Greek Gods are always behaving like normal humans and not judging things in the most radical way

I mean in roman version of Archane (she is Jealous of archane and hate archanes art cause of blasphem agaisnt olympus) but its most likely jealous same with Medusa, and that is not so much of a wise Goddess so i prefer ATHENA OF GREECE than MINERVA of ROME

If the story will be based on the known characteristics of each God and Goddess of Greek Myth, I can see why Athena made Arachne like that. As the Goddess of Wisdom, she fully knows her father might punish Arachne in the most dreadful way because what she did was clearly rude and blasphemous to the Supreme Deity.
As for Medusa, given that her sisters are initially Gorgons, then she is possibly Gorgon as well based on the original myth. Having Perseus killed her and Athena placing the head into the shield is absolutely logical, her head can be used as weapon to protect against invaders without hurting them as Athena is also a Goddess of righteous and defensive warfare
