The House of Hope is one of the best levels in the game. Larian truly are masters of their craft. Love how you speak to everyone there - I never spoke to everyone so I missed out on a lot of conversation.
Act 3 can be pretty big and intimidating and there are a ton of side quests but if you ever need guidance it's always a good idea to look at your quest journal and prioritize companion quests.
19:00 Some lore bits upon the lore bits you mentioned: Mordenkainen, Bigby, Otiluke, Tenser etc. were the player characters of Gary Gygax (who, along with Dave Arneson, and later Ed Greenwood, were the main creators of this game world) and his group. There are somewhat expansive tales to be read about how these charcters became the Co8, how it all fell apart and got built up again, and how it intertwined with the D&D lore that we have nowadays. All that was just another campaign or two for the OG players, and nowadays we get to interact with their named spells, wondering "who on earth names their character Bigby!?". I think that's pretty darn awesome.
Thank you for the episode! I love hearing you roleplay the characters, really adds that DnD feel to the game! And usually it's about the gang's hilarious shenaningans so it has me laughing as well
It's funnier if you promise your body because you can ask Harleep another question afterward - and you can use this question against Raphael later. Raphaels place is one of my favorite places in the whole game and has my favorite song :P
Not gonna lie, I laughed aloud when Mapognome, with a pipe in his mouth like a fisherman from the 1800's, contemplated on the outcomes of Haarlep convo.
Oh good, im glad our favorite Gnome had a reasonable and justifiable explanation for his new persuasive abilities- i was worried for a moment that he might just need a baby harnass or something and to have his worms confiscated.
1:16:46 Oh my gosh! I’ve never seen this! Thavius Kreeg was the ruler of Elturel until it was dragged to the Hells during The Descent. Fun anecdote!: In my personal friend game years ago, my DM revealed that Kreeg was my father (I gave the DM carte blanche on who my dad was in my backstory, the only thing I planned was that he left me in Baldurs Gate when I was young) in one of the most intense sessions I’ve ever been a player for. It’s wild hearing his name again. xD
Certainly the best dungeon in the game, perfect dungeon as far as I'm concerned. Completely optional dungeon btw. I bit surprised you're doing this now, but hey, a welcome one, not that order mattered anyway. Great flavor of the home of the narcissist, simple map design but with lots to find out in every corner, great lore drops all around, ties Selunite resistance and story of 2 Selunite brothers, mason and innkeeper nicely. In masonry, we discover how he was approached by a figure of the infernal persuasion. We actually started experiencing the story back in the Grymforge with inspection of the wall that was burned down by infernal beast (Yurgir), that's where it ended, we even find merregon and hellish boars that were trapped in the room there all this time. Rats tie into it as well, but won't say how. I'm curious now how it all play out. Hope's dialogue is also different for various reasons, just as meeting Korilla in the archive. I'm almost certain that only few players in the community saw this scenario you're experiencing, I mean with specific choices you made even before going to the House of Hope. The whole sequence and the choices made starting at 02:28:00 are wild, WILD xD (and yes, not only Raphael does have sex with himself, literally, Haarlep is just an anagram of Raphael in a first place). It is also great attentions to details in general, because infernal words written on straps of Haarlep read as "1,000 lovers in one body" (and yes, there is infernal on Karlach's full, not broken, horn that says ""My champion, the Demonsbane. My blood is her strength!", it isn't just fantasy gibberish)
1:56:57 aww I love everyone’s unique dialogue for each place. Maybe on a repeat playthrough you can bring them back and hear them all, they’re all really cool and flesh out the world. Everyone has something to say ^^
Ok the most obnoxious thing is that with +9 bonus to intimidation, Karlach should have a somewhat decente chance to pass that Intimidation check, especially with Advantage... And the you failed 3x in a row!!! Wow that is unlucky...
Kind of a shame you didn't get that con roll. If you do that or take the deal, you can get one of my favorite exchanges in the game when you talk to Raphael later.
Tara is currently bugged since Patch 7, her item for sale is on top of the roof awning of sorcerous sundries for some reason, you’d have to use telekinesis to get it.
Absolutely begging to not die by Snu-Snu. but also I feel like I missed something. I've been waiting for a part of your Karlach romance and I havent seen it yet and its pretty late in the game. But if you havent seen it yet I dont wanna spoil it
Date at Hank's already happened in act3, if that's what you mean, just like the first night together in act2 if it isn't what you mean, sorry, don't tell anything cause of spoilers (and then I don't know what you mean tbh lol)
Oh next episode is gonna be awesome
I think he left something with Minsc, so I wonder how it will go down with that in mind :)
Edit: I guess I was wrong, he has the Hammer on himself

Are you throwing shade at Sir Digby Chicken Caesar?
Good job editing the Haarlep scene I’m sure that was a challenge xD
Saying I've been anxiously awaiting this episode is the understatement of the century. Enjoy the House of Hope Mapo!
The perception checks in the Devils Fee actually serve a purpose, they opened up Helskis Special goods.
Thank you for the episode! I love hearing you roleplay the characters, really adds that DnD feel to the game! And usually it's about the gang's hilarious shenaningans so it has me laughing as well
I died when Hope glamoured you and you became beautiful again

"Now, if there's one thing it's this game hates me." I'm gonna use that quote!
"Is this the In and Out they spoke of" xD Best quote of the episode! Brilliant!
Not gonna lie, I laughed aloud when Mapognome, with a pipe in his mouth like a fisherman from the 1800's, contemplated on the outcomes of Haarlep convo.
Ooohhh, i have been so eager for this episode and your reaction to Haarlep 😂😂
The real treasure was the dignity we lost along the way...
2 am. Bout to go to sleep. House of Hope hits!
Hope you don't lose Hope in the next episode. OP Monk incomming

Any double number is 1 in 20 because you only need the second dice to be exact.
lol, I can't believe you went through all that then fought Haarlep instead of just finishing one step away... very funny
In hell, he is the prettiest XD
Getting into the bed and still fighting is exactly the chaos I expected you to commit to.
Ok rolling under 10, 3 times in a row WITH ADVANTAGE IS CRAAAZY hahahah
Everyone loves the snarky Bard party face lines, but for my money Barbarian party face with intimidation on everything is absolutely the best one.
Using speak to dead on Harleep is very worth doing when you kill him. looking forward to the next episode!
Next episode is gonna be so good!!
Beautiful again, if only for a moment
Gonna vibrate so hard I fall between the planes
MAPOOOOO LETS GOOOO so pumped to watch this!!
2:36:50 - That's life for ya...
I´ll make you look like a wretch. ...
Gnome glamor restored :D omg
Best Christmas present!
Aww, killing Haarlep and missing out on some of the funniest dialogue options in the game. Anyway, next episode is gonna be a blast. "LIVES..."
The probability that a d20 roll with Advantage results in an outcome strictly less than 10 is 20.25%
Ok the most obnoxious thing is that with +9 bonus to intimidation, Karlach should have a somewhat decente chance to pass that Intimidation check, especially with Advantage... And the you failed 3x in a row!!! Wow that is unlucky...
Merry Christmas to you Mapo! i hope you have a good day with the people you love and are taking good care of yourself
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOO. This is my favorite part of the game.
Kind of a shame you didn't get that con roll. If you do that or take the deal, you can get one of my favorite exchanges in the game when you talk to Raphael later.
House of Hope is my favorite!
I really love house of hope. 😄💜
Happy holidays mapo hope you are keeping very well
Fun fact Gale's cat and Ethel have the same voice actress

Hardest boss in the game
