I'm just concerned with it being an open deck block at 400hp. Pushing it much past that seems like a good way to damage some cylinders or blow a head gasket.
@@Mrpancake72 There's more to an engine being open deck and failure prone. N54s can hit well into the 500HP range with an aluminum open deck block with a downpipe and a tune, and they came stock 300-330ish hp in '06.
Why do I see Supras with the GR emblem and others that don't have this? Is this a version you missed talking about? Or is this GR emblem something generic that do not make a difference?
They all come with the GR logo. I removed mine when I did the wrap and only put the Supra logo back on. As of now I've unwrapped the car and have both logos back on
Its a nicely weighted shifter would a good throw. I'm not sure if anyone made a short shifter kit of this yet. But I don't think it needs one. There is a clutch out their I think for these
C8 isnt a supercar tho. Its a great sportscar. But it's no Lamborghini or Ferrari. And the Supra with a basic tune makes more power then the C8. Supra is a great sportscar for under $60k. Also the Supra was never a supercar killer. They were low 300 HP cars. You can modify them and make 1000 HP but thats after you've spent $30k in modifications.
Pretty much. The turbo is slightly different and then the new version has a lower compression ratio. Tuned on stock turbos or bigger turbos, both engines make about the same power. Just a bit smoother power delivery with the 6 port and a bit quicker torque on the 2 port.

Eirie Insurance. I've never had expensive insurance, even when I was with Gieco. High deductible, pay in full and clean 10+ year record goes a long way! Also NC is pretty cheap. In Michigan I'd be paying more then double.
I don't know if anyone has actually spec'd one with it. Would be an absolute waste of money. I don't think most Supra owners can justify $12k wheels. That's 21% of the value of the car for wheels.
Yes they did. I've talked with Toyota about this car. They took the B58 engine and went through it and had BMW make changes to make it what it is. Toyota owns a 10% stake in BMW these days. And thats why BMW is now in the top 10 in reliability. Toyota did just as much R&D on the Supra as BMW did. They just didn't build dit in their factory.

I'm just concerned with it being an open deck block at 400hp. Pushing it much past that seems like a good way to damage some cylinders or blow a head gasket.
@@Mrpancake72 There's more to an engine being open deck and failure prone. N54s can hit well into the 500HP range with an aluminum open deck block with a downpipe and a tune, and they came stock 300-330ish hp in '06.
great content
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
Why do I see Supras with the GR emblem and others that don't have this? Is this a version you missed talking about? Or is this GR emblem something generic that do not make a difference?
They all come with the GR logo. I removed mine when I did the wrap and only put the Supra logo back on. As of now I've unwrapped the car and have both logos back on
Hi from Puerto Rico, love the wheels. Can you share the brand and specs? Thanks.

Does this car with a short throw shifter or should you upgrade to a short throw as well as increase the clutch capacity?
Its a nicely weighted shifter would a good throw. I'm not sure if anyone made a short shifter kit of this yet. But I don't think it needs one. There is a clutch out their I think for these

Never heard of that guy. But I could see that a tad

Here yah go! Great product!
Supra used to be a super car killer. Now it's just an expensive sport car that for $10k more one can get a super car corvette c8.
Do u need e85 for jb4 and down pipe or u can just put pump premium gas in the SUPRA mk5?
I run premium. You would need an E85 tune to run ethanol. Catted downpipe like what I have can be run with no extras. We have them on our website!
The only thing changed with the 380 hp engine vs 340 hp was the 6 port manifold?
Pretty much. The turbo is slightly different and then the new version has a lower compression ratio. Tuned on stock turbos or bigger turbos, both engines make about the same power. Just a bit smoother power delivery with the 6 port and a bit quicker torque on the 2 port.
what about engine reliability?it uses bmw engine so my assumption is poor reliability?
Nope! The B58 is a solid and incredibly reliable engine! Toyota also has a stake in bmw and bmw is currently 2nd in reliability!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed thanks
How much is full coverage a month ?
About 187 a month
Catted DP rec? I don’t want a CEL. I tried AA - Active Autowerke and it threw a CEL :/
Rip, maybe a faulty one? I've ran my AA catted DP for more than half a year now with no CEL still.

@PinoyColadas agree, I've had AA CDP for 6 months with no code
The car is built in my hometown
Sweet!
Idk why they sell the 2.0s in the states .
Yeah I just don't see the point. Especially new. For about $50k new there are a lot better options
2.0 should not even exist at all in any market
I think if the 2.0 came with a manual more people would consider them. Like the ecoboost mustang
@@casettetape they should of never released 2.0 just keep 3.0 1 Supra
@@casettetape yeah I could see that. But about $40k would be the top I think it should be offered for
What insurance company are you going with to get that rate? Otto??
Eirie Insurance. I've never had expensive insurance, even when I was with Gieco. High deductible, pay in full and clean 10+ year record goes a long way! Also NC is pretty cheap. In Michigan I'd be paying more then double.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed My insurance is super crazy here in Orlando. Its 1,146.47 for 6mon with a high Deduct. and full coverage.

Seems like no one ever mentions the carbon alloy wheel package for Supras
I don't know if anyone has actually spec'd one with it. Would be an absolute waste of money. I don't think most Supra owners can justify $12k wheels. That's 21% of the value of the car for wheels.

Darn gotta wait till early 2025 to get my 2021 supra 😢
Not much longer to wait!
Dude; Toyota did absolutely NOT “reengineer” this car to “meet Toyota standards”…. 😅🤣😂 it’s a re-bodied; rebadged Z4…. Plain and simple.
Did they ever fix the wind buffering issue? Is there a fix?
Nope! You can buy wind deflectors to fix it tho. brosfourrspeed.com/parts-%26-merchandise/ols/products/armaspeed-supra-windblock-side-mirror-kit
Toyota loves making cars you can’t even buy.
How so?
Why am i watching this.... its an 60k € car.... ill never be able to afford it
Keep working hard towards it and setting goals and one day it’ll happen! Stay positive about it!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed highly unlikely... loan would cost up to 725 eur, insurance another 500-600 and then all the other stuff aswell
my hourly salary is already better then most others on my field and on average i do about 200hrs a month... maybe in the future, when i have done a ton on investing etc. i could afford it, but by that time there might even be a mk6 or something.... and that will cost so much more, that i wont be able to afford...
@@prospect2664 not sure where you get those numbers from. I don’t pay anywhere near that! Look into it because it cost way way less than what you think.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed hmmm... wierd.... youtube deleted the comment.... anyways, the cheapest supra, that isnt white or even further away is 57k €, with transport and registration fees it would be about 65k €, and that car would have like 13k km on it and 1800km away from home. Or there is one that is about same distance, but has under 200km, but then total cost would be like 68k... cant afford it anyways, as both insurance and loan would be 1.2-1.4k a month + everything else then....
And im already earning more then average on my field, would need to earn like 35% more then the max amount people get for what i do.... and thats when i continue doing my average 200hrs per month insanity
@@prospect2664 are you just guessing on the insurance and monthly payment?? Even my brother Audi r8 costs $80 a month to insure with full coverage!!
$1200 a month for insurance doesn’t seem right at all man!
But buy what works for you and what you are comfortable with affording.
That 2.0 twin scroll turbo belongs in the GR86. I don’t know what the hell toyota was thinking. And they’re “worried about a forced induction GR eating into Supra sales” lmao
If they did that, it wouldn’t be a $30-36K car anymore. You mine as well buy a 4 cylinder Supra at that point, so it wouldn’t make sense for them to do that to the 86 as cool as it would be.
No it does not.
@@FRWD_FXLRST explain? lol
Ngl, that's a cool bmw! Who knew bmws could look so much like a Toyota! 😮
Pretty cool that Toyota decided to partner with bmw to make an amazing car!
so 21-24 3.0? bet
They made the 3.0 all years. 2020-2025. All are great options
how many people watching this actually gonna buy this car?
I'm sure plenty of viewers are potential buyers. But also plenty who just like the Supra and want to know more. Either way the video is here for those interested. Judging by the views, seems like a good amount of people were interested
Did you ditch your front lip? Too low? :D
Swapped it for the Rexpeed front end. I loved the previous lip but figured I'd try something else for a bit. Other lip wasn't really any lower then stock. I still have it just saving it for later if I put it back on a change up the car again
The price kills this car. At this range, there is way too many better options..
Like what?
Dealer told me that the 2024 will be the last model.
Oh yeah? I havent heard anything from Toyota yet about that. But I wouldn't believe every dealer. They don't always know much about what's happening.
They'd say that to get people to rush in and buy one.
Just wait you will see oil leaking from the pan and the coolant disappearing..and other issues lol worked for Toyota seen it all ..not reliable at all just wait til we see more with more miles ..just my opinion not that it matters
Well in the 4 years I've been in the Supra groups, I havent heard any owners talk about leaks with these. Maybe you had one or two come in? But overall these things are very reliable.
You I’ve gotta admit because the Toyota Supra MK5 has a BMW engine you might has well get a BMW
What bmw would you get in it’s place??
I already have a BMW which is a BMW 325i year 2003
