      That’s exciting! Here’s advice from a Senior Leader (myself 😉), to a new soldier (you): be a team player and take care of your battle buddies at BCT and AIT. The Drill Sergeants will go hard on everyone until they feel like you are operating as one unit. You’re starting a new career on a clean slate. I don’t care about any of your past, what matters is what you do moving forward, create a beautiful future for yourself. I don’t care if you’re tired in basic training, sponge up everything your DS train you on and stay motivated - even if you’re not feeling motivated, fake the funk and be positive. When DS call for volunteers, be the first to volunteer. If you’re struggling in one area of physical fitness, ask a battle buddy who is good in that area to help you get better. Be someone your battle buddies can vent to. Also, vent to them too - don’t let a bunch of stress build up and be held within - vent it. Millions of normal people have made it though Basic Training, you can do it to. When times get tough, remember why you joined, how much this is going to help your future, and how good graduating will feel. Good luck!

      @@SFCBEITZ I ship out at the end of the month, I have heard that at Fort Benning Reception lasts 14 days. Do you have any information about that?

      @@wesleyhallof6246 Hey man, so there has been some significant changes recently at BCT including the length of reception due to COVID. It has been extended but different people have been telling me they’ve been at Reception for different lengths, so I can’t say 100% for sure how long you’ll be there. I have been hearing around 2 weeks. If you visit Team Schwartz’ channel (he’s also a military TH-camr), and ask him, he might be able to give you a definite answer. You can tell him I sent you to his channel and he might respond quicker. He’s recently started becoming a friend of mine and he promotes my channel on his channel.

      I almost added COVID restrictions in there but since they’re temporary, I wasn’t sure if I should or not! You are right though, there’s definitely restrictions and a whole additional phase you go through regarding COVID! Thanks for your support! Dropping a new video today too!

    Sup,
    just a few questions;
    1. Personal Affairs- is that like personal situations or anything that could possibly get in the way of going to training? or I'm thinking of something else
    2. Appearance- Do you mean having a clean shave and haircut when we arrive?
    Thanks in advance!
    edit: do you have a video on what to bring for BCT, or can we actually not bring anything besides another pair of clothes and still be fine? I really don't want to have to bring anything if I can just buy stuff at the PX. Unless that would not be smart.

    • @SFCBEITZ
      @SFCBEITZ  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey brother! Yes, you’re tracking 100% regarding personal affairs. Anything that could get in the way of going to train or affect you while at training. Appearance; yes, clean shave, hair cut to standard, uniform clean and appropriate looking, pens in uniform sleeve, note pad in pocket, dogs tags on, wearing correct socks, etc. As far as packing for Basic; I used to tell my troops to bring literally enough to get them through the day or two of traveling there. You really don’t need anything beyond that. You’ll be able to get everything else you need there. I don’t have a video on this specific topic yet but I want my channel to eventually have everything you could possibly need to know about enlisting, basic training/prepping for basic, AIT, benefits, etc...so I will definitely knock a video out specifically on this topic in the future. I hope this helps!

    Some things to help during basic. Don't get into fights with the other private recruits, also don't let them push you around because your moral and motivation can drop iv you let another private recruit pick on you or put you down(bully you). That is not the army way and should be notified to your drill sargeant. I went to basic with a couple of gangsters, I wasn't the one, but they got away with lining up the other private recruits in the middle of the night and slapped them in the face hard one by one when the drill sargeant a weren't there. Watch yourself. Don't worry too much about the other recruits, you need to make sure you're doing ok and are squared away. If you feel like you want to give up, don't. Just keep pushing and remind yourself it's only 3 months. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Good luck future soldiers. Hooah!

      Wow, did the soldiers get corrected by the Drill Sergeants? Hopefully by the end of BCT they were more squared away? Great advice brother! How long have you been in?

    Will they see the waivers I had to sign from meps

    • @SFCBEITZ
      @SFCBEITZ  ปีที่แล้ว

      Will who see the waivers? Your drill sergeants? If so, no. No one will see your waivers beyond MEPS unless someone digs deep into your electronic records but there’s no reason they would. Put it this way, I’ve led thousands of soldiers throughout my career and I never searched a soldiers electronic records to look and see if they had waivers.
