Tomoe: "I'm trying to fix my mistake."
*Takes a boat and abandons Tsushima*
LMFAOO
She would've been killed for aiding the Mongols either way.
Bahahahahahahaha damn
Technically she did. Those were the elite archers of the mongol army that she had successfully trained into deadly trackers and marksmen before she started to deceive the rest of scrubs archers by holding them back with half assed teachings.
That's the reason she couldn't take them alone. Those archers were supposed to be as deadly as she is since she taught them what she knows. She needed ishikawa and jin help to survive.
And also keep them occupied as she left them to fight on their own to catch a boat lmao

I really respect Sensei Ishikawa. I feel he was Jin's most powerful ally, besides Yuna. Despite his stubbornness, and his entrenchment in samurai ideals, he had observed Jin closely in their time together and seen his integrity. So when it came time to pick a side, it was clear to him where he needed to go. Great character.
But doesn’t he get downed a lot? Literally Every fight I see him in, there is a high chance he’s the first to be downed xd
The Boi Well he is an archer so he is less suited for close combat. If an enemy gets close or he gets outnumbered he will go down.

I thought besides Yuna his most powerful ally was Lady Masako Adachi in my opinion she had the preparedness to do what needed to be done as she had done for her family yes she had a few slip ups but that’s what makes her character well rounded and her pain inside all the more valid

That's cuz this is still technically early Japan before all of Ainu? died out due to recessive genes and dominant parts of Japan's original invader started taking over.

This is probably the side story I cared about the most playing this game. The part where she and the sensei talking about shooting technique made like it even more. Though you never saw her much it was hard to want her to die. Jin was even flirting with her lol.

I was always wondering if Tomoe was going to be a cutie as I did sidequest after sidequest.
Bro, she's freaking adorable.
Tomoe is a psychopath, she's just acting that way. Don't forget the corpses full of japanese arrows she "mercy killed".
"Not even close. But I'm damn good." That got me
I've seen several people claim Tomoe was redeemed. I don't see it. She simply re-ratted long enough to get out of Jin & Ishikawa's reach. She was angered at being a mere tool, and frustrated that she failed to deliver on her promise to kill Jin & the Sensai. So she fled.
Of course, all she did was take out some archers for us, but that barely makes up for anything.
Tomoe was not redeemed at all.
I was a bit disappointed by this ending, honestly. I kinda hope this hunt continues in a sequel.
@@VariableZero I really want another ghost of tsushima. I finished the game in 2 weeks
Her sexyness redeems her 😍 😂😂
Though remorseful, id still have killed her, to many suffered due to her. Its like would you forgive Ryozu after burning those peasants alive or betrayed you? And even then at least his defense was it was for his men who were starving, Tomoe switched sides when she realized she bet wrong. @@053chandradanuarta8 Jin may lose his honor throughout the game, but he never abandons his principle to protect the people, Tomoe tossed hers aside to survive. Giving them a 'painless death' doesn't really excuse the fact she's murdered her fellow countrymen you swore to protect.

I really wanted to kill Tomoe.
And at 16:26 happened to me many times in this game. The ladder is my archnemesis.
Jump toward it, Jin will go on it
yeah i wouldve liked to be able to influence the story more. Personally i wouldve liked to kill her, seems like she shoudve died considering ryuzou and sota were killed by jin. Sota was arguably less guilty and tomoe seemed like she was making excuses, her backstory was shady too.
@@wippyfr At least Sota was willing to take responsibility for his actions and was ready to accept his death. At least Ryuzo did what he did for his men and clearly did not enjoy burning the peasants. Tomoe caused so much more damage than those two and had very little remorse for it. She kept trying to justify herself and thought she was always in the right. She would have needed to do a LOT more than kill some archers if she wanted to redeem herself. It's not fair that she got to walk away while Sota and Ryuzo were executed. She doesn't deserve to just take a boat and call quits after all that. I seriously wanted to shoot that boat with an explosive arrow.
Its ridiculous to me how a character like Tomoe can be seen as a victim by so many people and even get shipped with the main character for the simple fact that she is a woman, while at the same time being a murdering sadist who obviously killed for pleassure.
And like many point out you are *Absolutely right!* Sota and Ryuzo where miles better than her as a person yet they get the villain treatment. Its even similar with the lover of Masako who is the only one spared while every other person who happens to be a guy is killed brutally.
Look, i’ll second guess Masako. But Tomoe was so painfully wrong. We let her go because she says she’s innocent? *Nani the fuck?!*
@Keknov
What we don’t understand is what’s implied. If she didn’t kill for the mongols and provided for them she could have faced worse punishment. The mongols are notorious for their tactics, especially on Tsushima and Iki. They would used captured women as living screaming walls for archer fire. They would cut holes in their hands and tie a rope through them. Disemboweling them and tying them to the head of their boats. Then there is the other stuff that is too graphic. That was just a few things they wrote down in their records. In the game we only see that the mongols burnt people alive, hanged and killed run aways which was tame.
“I gave them a quick death” was what she said, and in the end she was right. She was trying to survive and with how the mongols dealt with the civilians I think she did what was necessary.
Survival is naturally selfish.
Tomoe: Stay close
Jin: I get any closer we'll have to share one horse.
Tomoe: What was that?

Just finished this game and Tomoe's storyline yesterday. How the FUCK is Jin gonna pointedly and remorselessly kill his "best friend" even after he showed remorse, even after he offered to help fight back against the Mongols and actually correct his mistake. Where as Tomoe uses her own people as target practice, teaches the Mongols the Japanese bow, tortures and burns people alive to try and make it seem as though it were Jin and Ishikawa committing these atrocious actions... and even when you get a chance to speak to her about this shit: "I won't apologize for surviving." and he STILL nudges Ishikawa towards letting her go. If there's EVER a DLC for the main story line it better be Ishikawa letting that arrow fly.
I'd like to say it's because Jin grew and learned from what happened with Ryuzo... but I'm 99.9% convinced Ishikawa's last storyline mission was the last one the development team was working on and they got lazy.
Jin to Yuna: "I know you want to get your brother to a safe place but I still implore you to stay and help us fight for our home."
Jin to Tomoe: "Nah you can go. Even though you're a skilled archer who could be useful and helping us liberate Tsushima would be a good way to atone for your crimes, you're free to ditch our island in a time of need an only care about your own future."
“Showed remorse”
He wanted Jin to use his reputation to save his skin for betraying Tsushima by claiming Ryuzo was an undercover agent.
Jin even gives Ryuzo a chance to come quietly and face justice for his crimes, to which Ryuzo REFUSES.
Yes, tomoe did horrible things but it wasnt jin business, if it was he already would try to kill her, ryuzo was a traitor he made jin getting kidnaped and ¿how does he know hes not playing another trap to him?.
Facts this is another female villains are just misunderstood tropes.

And then at the very end when that idiot ishikawa has a chance to do something good in his life for a change and shoot the crazy bitch he’s just like „no lmao, I guess I don’t want to kill her now because she wrote me a sad letter”. At times I Mistake Tomoe for an Oni, the fact that Tomoe's archery skills are that good is just scary, or perhaps.. Tomoe is an actual Oni

Why? She obviously plans to live a peaceful life.
Our only attempt to not die as a vigin and Jin made a team decision on his own
Man! Tomoe just used them to escape, she’s a master manipulator and a great warrior. She needed to get to Umugi cove but she was being hunted by the Mongols and Umugi cove was surrounded by them. When she ran into Jin she took advantage of the opportunity. She pretended to be someone else to gage Jin’s character and she realised how to convince him to help her. Like I don’t believe a word she says when she claims everything she did was either in mercy or she didn’t do it at all. Like that lady that the Mongols execute on a mission literally said “She said I’d live until the samurai came” SHE! There aren’t any female mongols in the game. It was her who ordered it. Also she claims to have told her men to avoid Jin and Ishikawa when in the missions we find a letter where she vows to kill both of them and we see civilians ambushed with letters saying it was by the ghost and mad sensei. I doubt a mongol would write so well in Japanese. It was Tomoe. She didn’t deserve redemption at all. But I actually like her surviving because we get a villain who actually won.
I realised Matsu was Tomoe the moment she started talking about Ishikawa.
Not only did she not even try to disguise her voice, she is literally wearing the same outfit minus the mask from last time.
All of this build up to get to her, just to let her go in the end cause she was just, "surviving" and helped take out some archers. Man Sato was just, "surviving" and ended up getting blown up by me for what he did and took it like a champ.
I really still don’t think she should’ve been able to live. She had done a lot worse than the bandits Jin basically culls for fun at this point. Had things gone her way many more innocent people would be dead. She “did what she had to survive” she’s but she had an unnecessary cruelty to her and a complete disregard for the safety of her people.

If there ever were to be a sequel starring Jin Sakai again, I predict that none of the elderly companions like Lady Masako, Lord Shimura (if you spare him) and Sensei Ishikawa will live to see the second Mongol invasion of Tsushima. This leaves a void for an archer in the sequel, and call me crazy, but I don't think what Tomoe did redeemed her enough. She had done heinous things during the course of the game. But you what could completely redeem her actions? If she returns in Part 2 and fights for Tsushima. Not only would it help clear her misdeeds, but it will also redeem Sensei Ishikawa's legacy and teachings.
@IAmQuietWolf Ghost of Hakata lol
While I understand why she did what she did there’s a blood debt that must be paid... teaching to survive was one thing but before that she was teaching assassins. I love this storyline but the lack of choice I was given towards her fate is definitely some bull. Debts must be paid 😤

Tomoe's eyes kinda lookin like Yuna's
Jin needs to insert his katana inside iykwim
It’s got that Batman and Catwoman vibe...I like it.
I see a few people complaining why Jin let Tomoe go but not Ryuzo.
First of all, Ryuzo is his childhood bestfriend. Imagine all those years together, fighting for your island, only to be betrayed.
Tomoe also betrayed Sensei Ishikawa.
The thing is, Jin gave Tomoe a chance to prove herself to both him and the teacher, and she actually did even if Sensei Ishikawa was still doubting her. Meanwhile, Sakai did the same thing to Ryuzo; multiple times even, but the ronin didn't budge.
If Ryuzo sided with Jin after their fight at Castle Kaneda, we'd have the straw hats by our side when we invaded Port Izumi.
Speaking of which, Tomoe still has her quiver. This probably just SP not bothering to take it off her model, or it could symbolize that the lessons Ishikawa taught her won't disappear. She may start teaching the way of the bow in mainland Japan, who knows?
For just a side-mission, this sure was a lot to take in.
It excuses nothing. She deserves death just as much as Ryuzo.
Not only was she a criminal that betrayed the noble who gave her a second chance, but after what she did to the refugees fleeing to the spring town *and* trying to murder Ishikawa that kept him from aiding in Komada, I think death would be plenty reasonable.
And that's besides, aiding and abetting the Mongols by not only teaching them samurai tactics, but handing over valuable intelligence, and framing Jin and Ishikawa for ambushes. All while taunting Ishikawa and Jin *plus* admitting that *she* had plans for more camps and was, at one point, in charge of her band of archers, only walking it back when the Mongols turned on her (as if it could have gone any other way)
She tries to "redeem" herself by protecting Umi Cove of all places, the place crawling with thieves, straw hats and smugglers, but most importantly *her ticket out.* And they were the archers *she* trained in the first place. It's all a selfish ploy anyways and she jumps ship the first chance she gets to flee to Kyoto in hopes to, by her own mouth, become a criminal again who cheats people in a fancy inn. All at the cost of the lives of plenty of regular people who were *also* trying to survive the Mongols invasion.
She spouts many claims and excuses to try and justify her actions but simply put, why on earth should we trust her word. She only used us in the end to escape because She's a manipulative, narcissistic, coward who took advantage of a lonely man, who loved her as a daughter, to get wat she wants all while switching sides at the drop of a dime and playing the victim.
*TL;DR:* All I'm saying is that Jin has killed a lot more people for a hell of a lot less, and In the words of Sakai himself:
*"The worst one can do is take advantage of ones own people."*
Ryuzo after killing one guy: *breaks down sobbing*
Tomoe after killing hundreds: "I did it to survive and I'd do it again."
@@MichiruYami Yeah, it's definitely strange considering Jin has had a problem with people for doing a lot less than Tomoe. He got angry at Kenji for merely selling sake to the Mongols. He threatened to kill the iron mark guy if he heard he was working for the Mongols again. He threatened to kill the imposter samurai because he was "bringing dishonor to the name", while Tomoe framed Ishikawa for her crimes, literally bringing dishonor to his name.
Ar 24:26, when Tomoe talked to Sensei about his Archery, I went "Are you two working it out?"
I just finished that whole story arc, I am somehow glad Tomoe lived
I understand why people think sparing Lord Shimura was in accordance with sensei’s words, but he said that family is more important, and to not let the ghost consume you.
By sparring Lord Shimura, you are not only denying your only family member their final wish-but, you’re also completely giving into the way of the Ghost. Sometimes putting your family first means putting your own desires to the side and granting what others wish-even if you disagree. Just my take though…
I was quite upset that they didn´t give you a choice in killing her or letting her go. The redemption arc was very weak, and I only saw her using us to escape. I don´t know exactly what happened between the master and the student; however, she ended up as an unredeemable traitor covered in countless innocent people's blood. It seems to me that a lot of people forget everything up to that last mission and for some reason believe her. The only reason she helpt us was that the Mongols tried to kill her.
Agreed

@@MrBrandonStar women can't be bad just misunderstood remember?
Me: Sees Tomoe.
Also me after 2 seconds: Smash
Jin was declared as a traitor for protecting people while tomoe wasnt declared as a traitor even though she killed more japanese ppl then jin did
Tomoe was a common thief-a nobody who was taken in by Clan Nagao’s former archery master with no such knowledge ever being mentioned to the Shogun (at least to my knowledge). Declaring her a traitor would mean nothing. Jin on the other hand is a Samurai Noble who is directly connected to the Island’s Jito. As such, his actions are a reflection on Lord Shimura, whether it’s fair or not. Declaring a Samurai Noble like Jin a traitor is life changing, because everyone will now be looking for him and trying to kill him. Not only that, but everything that he ever had, owned, presided over, was ripped away from him and given to another Clan of Samurai to replace him. The biggest difference is status.
@@user-cj5ew9hm9x I wasn’t trying to validate Tomoe, although I can see how that assumption could be made. My apologies.
When you listen to her voice when you meet “ Matsu” that truly bring a oh shit response and kept wondering how long before she revealed her identity if Jin had already figured it out
Makes me want to go to kyoto
Me too
@Ken Penalosa Ruroini kenshin reference ?
My heart kinda sank when Tomoe said she would leave the way of the bow behind.
Wasn't expecting to face her again, afther she jumped the cliff.
It was blatantly obvious we were gonna see her again. Every major character or every character that has a story tied to them has to basically be seen dying otherwise they most likely arent. Common in games and movies. If a character in a game or movie seems like they died but theres no trace, or it wasnt shown to us directly, they arent dead
As soon as I saw her as a “trapper” I knew it was Tomoe. I’m glad Jin wasn’t oblivious to this fact either. Would’ve made him look kinda dumb.
Funny enough when I checked the cliff after she fell I accidentally jumped down it too and landed in the ocean, but Tomoe was nowhere to be found.
How didn't you look wasn't that like part 7/9? Wouldn't be no continuation without her
i fully upgraded the demon bow specifically because i wanted to kill her with it. I deadass thought it would be like a sniper duel or something lmao
In the end everyone's a winner. Seisei is at peace knowing he had trained his best students. Jin was conscious that everyone would benefit from helping each other and avoided a greater conflict between Tomoe and Sensei. Tomoe atoned for her crimes by helping Sensei and Jin survive and saved a village, risking her own life. She was very skillful and really didn't need anyone's help to escape. The fact that she left her broken bow and mask behind and never tried to kill the other two proved her honest intentions. Tomoe never intended to replace her master but used his teachings to survive, even in the most cruelest way. The note she left behind thanking her Sensei was an honorable way to end their tales.
I feel like Jin as certain thing for Bad Girls XD
Yuna and Tomoe duel challenge now
Right??? Jin saw Yuna killing a mongol and was immediately smitten with her. Jin hears about Ishikawa's extremely deadly female student who MUST be killed yadda yadda and instantly is like "How about we make her join us instead?".

Damn jin, he really did give a shot to tomoe
So tomoe can live happily ever after in another state in japan but her victim that somehow alive going to live with trauma and ptsd of all the thing that tomoe did and Some of them even lose a family member to the mongol that tomoe lead.
So Ryuzo died because he indirectly killed someone Jin knew. Tomoe didn't so she gets to live?
Ryuzo betray Jin twice and cause another friend to die. He deserved his death, can't manage his men's rampage and can't respect his childhood friend either.
Ryuzo’s a spineless coward though after his double betrayals he still had the nerve to ask Jin to tell the people he was the ghost’s spy
@@erikreyes42 I'm not excusing what Ryuzo did. But you're forgetting what Tomoe did.
@@a_llama Tomoe was just trying to survive though, as if she didn't teach them the way of the bow she would've been killed, and she tried to get them to spare as much people.
If Ryuzo helped Jin take over Castle Kaneda, then there would surely be supplies there that he could give to his men.
Well it's more to it than that but yes, and I have no problem with that.
"I have no more lessons to give in this life, except one. Promise me, you won't repeat my mistakes". What mistakes is he referring to here and how could this influence the choice at the end (already finished the game, but always wondered how that line could factor into Jin's decision at the end).
In one of the mission ishikawa said he dedicated his life for the bow he didn't had the time to make a family that's why he saw Tomoe as his heir. He said that to jin so jin can someday put the mantle as Ghost one day and start living his life.
This game is one of the greatest ever made but the only thing I hated was that the game didn't let us ki|| her.
if there's a sequel, jin will be a full-fledged ninja and tomoe becomes a geisha. she said she'd open an inn and learn the shamisen. they picked an attractive voice for her, tho her face model is not that pretty.
Idk she looks very beautiful to me
Prettiest character in the game imo with Yuna second
And then they bang and Little Jin tomoe is born🤣
@hahahhah it's nice but I want jin to bang with Yuna
Shinobi, not a ninja
Tomoe keeps turning her head. It was unnerving.
Better redemption than Abby in TLOU2

What redemption?
@@dauntless0711 think at the end when the mc spared her or something
@remelle alcendor So? Again, what redemption? In what way has Abby been redeemed of being an evil murderer? Is it because she likes to pet dogs?
@@dauntless0711 yeah ik he probably meant to say Abby didn't get "redemption" but it was only scripted that way poor writing, in contrast to tomoe who was evil but actually got redemption.
You know, Sensei Ishikawa is stubborn once his mind is set.
So a traitor, murderer, common bandit like Tomoe gets away even after everything shes done. What a disappointing ending. The lack of player choice is really frustrating in this game - i always chose dialogue options along the lines of "she must be punished" "she cannot be forgiven" etc. and it was all meaningless.
Jin kills Ryuzo but lets Tomoe go free.
@@tonytan5945 Yeah, that makes no sense. Probably because the game had four writers.
@@tonytan5945 Tbf Ryuzo was worse but I see what you mean
@@fellascallmethedrink Uh, how exactly was Ryuzo worse? Tomoe got way more people killed than he did and showed far less remorse for it.
One of the rare times where Tadayori's Armor is useful.
12:31 Geralt: *Sounds good. All right.*
Tomoe planning to open a "fancy inn" wherein her servants would rob the patrons blind reminds me of a similar scam in Japan wherein beautiful girls wait just near the perimeter of the "fancy inn" for male customers to lure, bring them there as "dates". They would then order a lot, and the establishment would overcharge the customer for it.
