Many women have lot of misconceptions about the thyroid disorders, Whether it is hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism, Whether the medicines are life long, Will I gain or lose weight with thyroid , Can I plan a pregnancy and so on.

I am a dentist, suffering with hypothyroidism for last 17 years.
This disease gave me lot of problems like lack of concentration, depression ,heavy periods, hair fall..
I think medication and proper counseling both plays an equal role.
Now I am a mother of a daughter, even at the age of 37, sometimes stress etc comes back. I am still on medication.
My husband plays a major role in taking me out of such conditions everyday lol..
People should talk about it more often..as it's not something we did to ourselves..it just happened..all we need is awareness and of course medication..

Hello. Im asking for some answers. Basically I’ve done my blood work for TSH few weeks ago and TSH was just near the normal level (mine was 5,4 and normal lvl is 5,5). But then, a week after i was getting my female hormones done while on my period and my doctor said that my TSH was way too high ( got up to 7,7 in just a week) and said i have hypothyroidism. When I got to my other doctor she said that my TSH hormones just change rapidly and that everything is “okay”. So is it normal that TSH levels are higher during period ? And what should i do?

Mam, can you please explain the reason for "spotting during Or around the time of ovulation? " Is it something to be concerned Or consult a doctor for?
*No sister no need to worry about it*
*Spotting during or around ovulation or ovulatory phase is because at that time LH is about to go at its Peak so as to reduce or eliminate any fluid from uterus ....the Myometrium wall put pressure on it for sometime so that any remaining fluid can come out*
*So if after ovulation... fertilization is done...a thick new walled uterus can be prepared for it* 😊😊😊

TSH 5.01 is borderline. It needs frequent monitoring and decision to start a medication depends on various other factors too.
