I have a question about my scorpions . So my girl just gave birth to a few babies last night and one of the hatchlings wondered off and idk either to take the baby out of the enclosure so mama doesn’t eat it , or have the hatchling try to climb back on mamas back
I recently got 2 young As a in forest scorpions. I know all I need to about habitat and food but I need to know a few things regarding handling them. 1) how often should I handle them 2) how do I know when they are irritated or scared 3) how do I know they are calm enough to handle
Handle them as least as possible. They do not enjoy it, it is purely for your own pleasure. Touch them with a soft paint brush or straw, if they strike, dont touch.
I am from northwest area of Pakistan. there are too many scorpions in our home. I am afraid that the scorpion will bite our children. So what's the method to prevent it.
Six-Zero-Six Defender Of Justice! I got Respect for you then. Most ppl fear or hate things that hurt them... Scorpions 🦂 don't sting unless provoked after all most are really laid back.
this is the first time I've ever seen something like that Discovery Channel has nothing on you I have never in my life seen a scorpion like that that's awesome.
Im frm the New Mexico area and what kind of spiders r those that makes the hole in the ground I can get the out weed and gum on it wen i was little u know what im talking about. ..?
I have a question. I own a Coastal Burrowing Scorpion aka Urodacus novaehollandiae . It is just a year old. Just want to know. Is it venomous and can it kill me when stung? Should I handle it?
Deadly Tarantula Girl I think scorpions in general are very entertaining to watch involving their behavior and antics. The most painful sting I ever received was from this very small common southern brown scorpion that can be found as far north as Virginia. I have this female Vin that is living a long time now, I use a mixture of 50% coconut fiber and 50% Play sand, with a small bowl of water crystals. Oh, I watched the video where you mentioned your obsession with Chapstick. I like Blistex that I get from the dollar store. But then again my lips are not as nice and full as yours.
I used to have a Hadrurus Arizonensis as my first scorpion, it ended up dying while trying to molt. They are well known for dying in captivity. They require "lots and lots' of substrate to burrow in. They've been known to burrow 13 feet in the ground to find adequate conditions to molt. They are the scorpion that burrows the most of any scorpion in the world. In captivity, they require a minimum of 4 inches of substrate and they will dig caverns and tunnels throughout the enclosure. I have seven scorpions that are the deadliest in the world. I have scorpions from the the Buthidae genus and from families such as : Leiurus, Androctonus, Hottentotta, and Parabuthus. The Leiurus are the most venomous, but the Androctonus are waaay more aggressive and fun to watch than any of them. That is a nice Parabuthus Transvaalicus you have Marita.
I just got 2 flat Rock scorpion today the one with the gold stripes TH-cam is normally helpful and the internet but I can't find anything useful and it's conflicting should I get them sand or Eco Earth? I know I get them a water dish but do I mist their substrate if I get them eco on Earth? or do I keep them dry?
I finally learned that even desert species spend much time in deep moist burrows. The wrong advice usually from numbskulls on forums (meanwhile the shipping costs are high despite their early deaths), is that desert arachnids get most of their moisture from food sources.
Aviators are much more adequate I find for eye protection when opening the lids of spitting scorpions. Need to look cool while you deal with your deadly specimens.
I have a great appreciation for the studies you are carrying out, however those are veeeeery small enclosures. Can be very stressful and damaging to the specimen.
+Squirrely Squirrel I would leave them alone. I haven't heard of a spider that has been killed by a superwom, but it might be possible. Even though there is a small chance of this happening, I wouldn't be too worried about it:)
+Deadly Tarantula Girl watch no matter what i think that stripped knee might be the brazilian white i have two seemanis femsle blue with orange bottom and posible male
@@MaritaDeLaPenaDTG I know most spiders aren't inherently aggressive but when I was 5 my sister threw one at me and that gave me arachnophobia for years. Now I've got more than a decade of government work under my belt. Trust me I've dealt with plenty of scary but despite being over the arachnophobia I still maintain a distance. In fact my sister's torment of me is why I'm so fearless now...lol. Thank you I guess...right...lol.
I wish my folks would let me have scorpions, but my dad doesn't like them for some reason,he lets me have spiders centipedes and other bugs, but no scorpions or snakes!! it makes no sense. He says they will get out and overrun the house which is true for the small native scorpions we have in north Texas, but not for emperors, or other large breeds. He would probably let me keep vinegaroon so as they don't sting, but I never found any at any pet stores or in the wild.
I really hope Youu don’t live in an area that is prone to/gets Earthquakes ! Would suck have those scorpions get loose after their containers have fallen down and opened up for them to escape !

Why do you like handling things that can kill you and I live in az I thing they are all Beautiful creatures but I don't see why you would want to handle something so deadly like I won't to ride motorcycles but my fate is in my hands I'm not trusting a animal can you explain it to me so I can understand it or try to understand
Malakai Zimmerman that I’ll have to say you’re wrong. All spiders except about 3 small genus lack venom glands, and I could confidently say all scorpions are venomous. But, most of them pack venom that’s not lethal, so don’t worry, only experienced hobbyists keep very venomous species
I like very much. Excellent
Thank you very much!

Sounds like an analogy independent women describe men.
Can u eat it? If boild like a crawfish?or cooked on a grill or fire? Or deep-fried?

+Jonathan Regulus Yes, they are a species of Unmidia I believe, a type of trapdoor spider. Wolf spiders will also make burrows in the ground:)
I have a question. I own a Coastal Burrowing Scorpion aka Urodacus novaehollandiae . It is just a year old. Just want to know. Is it venomous and can it kill me when stung? Should I handle it?
How is the venom of the Asian Forest scorpion? I have 2 big ones from babies. Vinegaroons are great.
Their venom is not very potent. It is not considered "medically significant" to humans. I like vins as well.

Have you ever handled a Black Emperor Scorpion
Yes.
What are they like i hear they are so cool

You can use either sand or eco earth. If you moisten the cage, just moisten a small part of the substrate:)
in the wild are they found on Sand or dirt?
I think they are found in rock piles.
thank you!!! my brachypelma smithi sling just molted how long should I wait to feed it?
@@hollywood3695 a few days so they can harden their exoskeleton again... otherwise they could get injured by live food

hi IWILL MAKE afarm of scorpion but idont know where i will sell these venom pleasecan you help me
I'm sorry. I don't know of any place that will purchase scorpion venom.
What happens if you get stung? like are there scorpions that are not venomous ?
+Gloria mcmillan Vinegaroons do not have a stinger, their tail secretes acetic acid which smells like vinegar:)
I lost so many Vinegaroons from bad advice. Do they need it dry, humid, or just their hide needs to be moist?
I finally learned that even desert species spend much time in deep moist burrows. The wrong advice usually from numbskulls on forums (meanwhile the shipping costs are high despite their early deaths), is that desert arachnids get most of their moisture from food sources.
That first scorpion you showed (Vinegaroon) do those also glow under black light?
would you do a white stripe knee care video if you have any???
+Marcell Love Is that Aphonopelma seemani? If so I would love to do a care video:)
What is it that you do? Do you have a lab and collect venom?
Can you house taranulas and scorpions together

What tarantulas do you recommend that are medium sized and have a good temperament
That's a great question. I try to cover this topic in some of my "Choosing First Tarantula" videos. Here's one:
